Chapter 18
While referring to the information she had looked up, it took Giselle just ten minutes to find the things she needed.
After confirming she had everything, Giselle brought a long envelope out of the room with her. When she saw Anthony slumped next to the door, Giselle narrowed her eyes. "What's Anthony up to this time? He could not possibly be thinking of postponing the divorce procedure by acting sick, right?" she wondered.
Giselle stopped before him. There was a wariness in her tone as she was being cautious.
"Are you feeling unwell?"
She did not ask that out of concern. Instead, it was more like Giselle was doubting him.
Anthony could tell the difference between the two, of course.
He shook his head and pushed himself to his feet by holding onto the door. Anthony managed to force a smile.
"I'm fine. Let's go."
After Anthony pushed the door open, Giselle gradually lowered her guard and followed him out of the place.
Neither of them spoke on the way back to the courthouse.
Giselle kept checking her watch to see how much time they had left. Since they were running out of time, she grabbed Anthony's hand once they got out of the car before hurrying into the building.
Anthony recalled Giselle being this impatient as well on the day they got married. She was probably worried he might change his mind back then.
Anthony was not in a good mood that day. However, he could not help chuckling softly when he saw how anxious she was. That had somehow helped lessen Anthony's fear and uncertainty in entering a marriage. Who would have thought that the two of them would be coming to this place three years later to get a divorce?
When he saw the couples around them who were lining up to get divorced as well, Anthony suddenly felt like it was not that big of a deal after all.
Since Giselle said that their marriage was a mistake, they should put an end to it. Only then could Anthony get a chance to start over.
Anthony would not try to use marriage to limit Giselle's freedom. Even if they had officially separated, Anthony could just approach Giselle as her pursuer instead.
This time, Anthony would be the one to prove to Giselle that his feelings for her were sincere, starting from the very beginning.
Even though he was not sure if Giselle would give him a chance just like he did, Anthony no longer felt lost nonetheless.
He was willing to spend ten years or even the rest of his life to pursue her.
Anthony did not have any special reasons for doing this. He was just trying to keep the promise he made when they got married.
Anthony would never give up or change his mind since he had decided to spend the rest of his life with Giselle.
It was already 5:00 pm by the time they had completed the procedures. It was also time for the staff to get off work.
Giselle felt so relieved as she looked at the divorce certificate. She even found Anthony less annoying when she directed her gaze at him. Giselle moved her wrist around slightly. Her tone was chirpy.
"Alright. Thanks for all your help during the last few years. We have nothing to do with each other anymore. Bye bye!"
Giselle was about to leave after saying that. However, Anthony caught her wrist.
"Who says we have nothing to do with each other anymore?"
Giselle glanced at the divorce
certificate in her hand and looked at Anthony's face. She could not
understand why Antho

"The court has approved our divorce. Doesn't that mean we have nothing to do with each other anymore?"
"Yes. Legally, we are no longer husband and wife. Yet, it doesn't change the fact that we were schoolmates."
"Then, I should remind you that we weren't that close during our school days. We don't share any form of relationship worth deepening." Anthony did not try to refute that.
"You're right. I hadn't been friendly to you back then. However, it was because you kept chasing me around fervently."
This was Giselle's first time hearing
Anthony bring up her attempts at pursuing him in the past. He was even mentioning it at such an awkward moment when the had just gotten divorced.
She seemed a little embarrassed.
"Those things happened a long time ago. What's the point in bringing them up now?"
"It is quite pointless to do that. Then, let's talk about what's going on now."
"What's going on now? What does he mean?" Giselle pondered.
She had no idea what Anthony was getting at.
Giselle was about to ask about it when Anthony said calmly, "Haven't you said we'll let bygones be bygones after we're officially divorced? You'll also listen to
