Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter 2.1

At first, I began to question if humans would be seeing the body and a few unnatural immortals in a high school. But Madam assured me that the body and us would not be seen by them human. Only unless they wanted to be seen.

“So how did they find the body?” I questioned, as we exited the portable and was instantly silenced by my own self when the building that stood before me brought back a emotion of the unknown to me.

The two-story high school I attended was staring back at me as if years didn’t seem to be thing of change.

Students were entering as it seemed that school would be starting soon.

“They were made aware of it by some message which may been from the killer…” Madam replied. I looked over at her and she stood in her own place “The message I message is being questioned itself, but you may go” she gestured for me to walk.

Crinkling my forehead in confusion, “You are not coming?”

She smiled, “I think you forget I still have to the school you attended” her voice gentle.

I chuckled, nodding in confirmation while waving a goodbye as she disappeared.

I brought my attention back to the school taking a breath as I knew unwanted human memory would come. I went forward.

Upon entering it was a split-second flash of memory that reminded me why I hated human schools but I forced the memory back down and preceded through the second set of doors that welcomed me into a long hallway. If I kept walking down, I would pass the theater on the right with two sets of gym doors on the left. A little as I could see the light at the end of the hall an open room to common eating area. That could already feel have multiple students conversing for their morning routine,

I took a few steps forward and turned left to the next hallway, only to be stopped dead in my tracks. If I kept going I would be welcomed to a foyer with stairs leading up to the second floor with a balcony. Main floor has a triangle ‘L’ shape leading to classroom, the upstairs mirroring it. But what I not expect was a bloody woman body wear a dress by hung up by wires.

Slowly making my way forward seeing the body become bigger and almost unnatural to look at. I realized it was she was hung up by multiple strings from the sunroof that shone a spotlight onto her.

Eventually I stood at the entrance of the hallway that welcomed the giant foyer, with a few more steps I would be going up the stairs.

Nausea didn’t come as I already seen enough bodies but a hollow empty feeling came as I realized the body of the woman as facing down and multiple wires glinted from the light, as they wanted to be seen. Realization came, which took my breath away and a chill down my spine.

She was hung like a puppet.

“Asema?” A familiar voice broke me from my odd trance, I turned to see Emily, but not the Emily I expected to see. Life drained from her as she looked passed me for a moment but was questioning my existence to why I was here.

Since her quest with Damon was a succession, I have been seeing her in a different way, actually seen her multiple times since my children call her Auntie Em.

What I didn’t expect was to see her dressed in what looked like formal attire, as if metal was latched onto their skin like dragon scales. Her outfit was made to look for riding a dragon or something if others saw her. I just only seen her in dragon riding clothing but more relaxed. What tipped me off as I may be blind or she never wore it around me was the jagged pointy silver crown placed on top of her head. That had one small, medium and large chains, clamped on either side of her crown near her temple on the head. Where the chains looped at her throat.

She stared at me as I did with her.

“Em what are you wearing and why are you here?”

She came closer to me directing her attention to the body again then the warriors who were mingling around us. That I must have completely forgotten feeling I was the only one here.

“I am here I have been request, which also looks like you been requested as well, though” She diverts her eyes to the body, “I don’t see how me being here is going to help solve a murder, I do not know her” She replied, still staring at the body as if she trying to figure out something while still being shock.

“Well, I guess that makes the two us of, bot being confused by this situation” I stated, though hoping it would come out as a gentle tone.

“They requested Equitem-Draco family here, and since I am spokesperson, I come in my formal wear…” She inclines ot my reaction, “from your face reaction I guess I never worn it in front you which makes sense since. I don’t wear formal wear unless it absolute that I do, and I quote on quote queen.” A hint of humor force of her.

I smiled and gave her a side hug.

Her body tensed.

“So, what do you think?”

“I am surprised that the two of you are even speaking considering there is a dead body just hanging here, most would be quiet respecting the dead.” A man spoke from the crowd.

I turned slightly to see; I presume the captain walking his way to us. He was about the same size as Wolf maybe a little taller. Sculpted face of perfection with dark brunette hair that looked blacker if kept staring at it but not black. He wore all leather that was black with a jacket having it small collar up. He stopped before us and waited on Emily response.

I gave Emily my attention again and actually saw her face as her eyes were not leaving the dead body, caught in a trance. I narrowed my gaze, “what is it?” I questioned, as I felt I was missing the whole story.

Emily slowly shook her head a bit, drew her eyes to mine and gave a confused look. “There is something about this body that I feel a connection too, but I don’t know who this woman is so I confused” and slide her eyes back to the body.

I returned my gaze to the body and agreed there was something off about it, but what that didn’t make sense and the pungent smell of the body now seemed to fill my nostrils. I now seemed aware of the multiple warriors in every corner and every other breath trying to keep smooth as in not take in much stench that the body gave. Keeping distracted and back to the task I looked at the caption who back was to us staring or admiring the back.

“Excuse, not to intrude” I spoke crossing my arms, the Captain turned and stared at me ready for my next set of words, “but you requested me here, so why am I here?” I finished and placed a hand on Emily’s shoulder, slightly squeezing it letting her know I was here. A smile from her but small.

The captain eyed me but gave me his hand to shake. I politely took it as a suddenly feel of sharp coldness and hotness molded again my skin from him. I tried hiding the odd painful feeling as I kept shaking his hand. He eventually let go and walked to where some warriors were huddled and talking.

“Take the body down after the ladies have done their own work” he commanded them.

They nodded and returned to what they were doing.

The captain came back standing in front of me holding out a piece of paper to me. “This is for you and why you were requested,” I slowly took the paper from his hand, doing my best to avoid his touch again and opened it.

Have the daughter of Madam Mentor

Is that is who she truly is. Asema Darksky.

Find who killed me.’

I swallowed though my throat went completely dry and I forgot the world around me.

“What your name?” I asked the Captain still being aware of Emily though she was now was walking around the body examining it.

“Thuse” he replied, without any emotion to it. Just straight to business.

I stared up at the puppet body, gave a grim smile.

“Well Thuse seems we will be working together as I believe your killer wants to play a game.”

I could describe his face but he didn’t seem pleased or mad.

“Can’t wait” his voice blank.
