Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter 14

The moment I saw the swift of the blade. I knew my recurring vision returned. And there it was a flash of silver to next a gleaming blade that began to drip with blood. Then a pile of bodies came next but now there was ivy of deep green growing from out of them to white pure roses blooming. I didn’t have time to process when at first I thought I as thrusted back into Hunters Forest. But wasn’t when my surroundings were not the coast forest rather a jungle. But it disappeared in a instant but not before I got a whiff of familiar but unfamiliar smell. I was now in a dark abyss with slowly trees appearing encasing me into a forest again. Thought my breath stopped short when a woman I could barely tell who she was for her bloody face appeared before me. Only a few feet away but seemed she was choking and clenching her stomach. I stared at her wondering what was what happening, then realized she had been impaled and choking on her own blood. She barely spoke a audible word.

“Stop him, save me” the voice gurgled. I tried to reach out but she was gone, leaving me in the black abyss again.

I shot up in bed in a upright sitting position gasping for air, Wolfs hand slightly touched my arm, wondering if I am okay. I swallowed and eventually my breathing comes to a calm. I check my surroundings and it still dark, the sun will probably rise in two hours. I now become conscience of Wolfs hand on my arm and turned to him while resting back down. My eyes staring into his.

“Vision or bad dream?” he whispers, I only stare back at him scared that I will cry if I mention what happens and how I am supposed to save that woman and who was she talking about?

“Asema” Wolf said louder urging me to speak. I took breath.

“In a forest or possibly a jungle, some recurring vision only this time nature is involved.”

I looked away already my brain is going multiple speeds, “I just don’t understand, usually my visions are clear and show me exactly what is to come…now it’s all symbolism. Just doesn’t make sense” I return my gaze to his and I broke it for a second and he can only give a sympathy look while caressing my arm. Lightly little touches to help sooth me and not to startle me as well.

I close my eyes again and focus my energy outside, listening to the slight creaking of branches from the flowing wind that wraps around but also creeps up like a ghost. The leaves flutter but barely noticeable. A set of hooves in the distance but soon run away as if detecting a safe place. I extend my sense and reach for towards where the water meets the sand and boats from too big, are in the water lapping up and down giving some air pocket noise. The waves flow evenly and washes up and down turning itself in to a soothing effect. Though something else caught my sense a pair of odd feet crunching against the wind. I peeked my eyes open and gazed back at Wolf who had shut his eyes. I poked him on the nose. He opened his eyes again, looked groggy but annoyed.

“Why did you poke my nose?”

I angled my head to the window, “I heard something out there.”

His gaze shifted past me to the window and narrowed his eyes and slowly shifted back to me. Staring and I could tell he too was listening, using the senses he taught me.

A minute later he gestured for us to get up and I was out already throwing clothes and a light jacket on. I stared at the weapons in the closet with the door ajar as did Wolf but we both shook our heads and set out.

Even though it was summer, the night air was till cool and air hand a mistiness to it causing the coldness to seep in. Wolf and I carefully walked through the town and noticed few rumbles inside, was probably from the sailors in their home getting ready to in hour for the fish to catching and to be out on the sea. As Wolf and I walked, the harmony of crickets would grow louder but faint and repeat as we continued always to attend a different area of the village. The trees gave dark silhouettes that crowded around and reached through the houses. A occasional owl would make a noise but would fly away only to be replaced by another.

Some rustling of leaves and we both stopped only to realize it is small critters going about their routine so they don’t become prey. The night was alive as a crow cawed and settled on a branch nearby. We were now at the edge of the village where trees consumed most of the land. A light breeze swept by, but not cold. I motioned for Wolf and I to stop and just listen to the rustling of the dirt and leaves, stopped but it was only small as it was our feet. We stood there continuing to listen to the live forest around us. I didn’t close my eyes but I did focus on that one unusual background of steps, for all I know it could of been some teenagers running in the forest or someone just doing a patrol for no reason. I wished I could believe that but something about those steps did not seem right.

A flash of blue happened and I whipped my head to see Wolf now in his giant Lycan form. He tipped his nose to the air and began pondering about through the trees sniffing and listening. I did not follow but listened as his paws crushed the dead leaves and squashed the moss underneath. I separated him to my own area so I took could hear further into the trees with only step in I heard that distance stomping of feet, almost as now if someone was running.

Took my a second to realized, they are running to us, but who? I narrowed my eyes again.

Wolf suddenly trotted towards me but didn’t seem like he was okay, but that when I felt it.

get the others up now!” he ordered.

I wanted to question but I bowed down and turned jogging away, just as I heard the feet become multiple and they ran with anger. Reminding me of the vision I had days ago, then it dawned on me.

A attack is about to happen.

The best way to wake up the town is the alarm, but I don’t know if I could get there in time even with my immortal speed. The runners of red are sounding to close.

I thought quickly while racing now to the outlook tower near the sea and saw the bucket size golden green bell. I used my sense and color, there was the alarm switch.

With my mind I used air and flicked the switch up. This peaceful night of sleep is going to turn to a disaster in minutes as now the loud blaring screech blared throughout the village. I spun and saw lights turn on and heard scrambling people get there things together. I began using my speed and air to help me flow as I needed to get back to Wolf.

Passing by a few village people already had gear on while others had weapons. When they saw my flash, they shifted and began following me only to be almost knocked down to the ground by someone. Though with my predictions, I dodged whoever smacked came at me and smacked them square int eh back slamming them down into the dirt and brought vines up from the ground closing my fist to wrap around them. I didn’t take a second look as I knew they were already struggling. I ran forward, we were being ambushed by red Immortals as a group upon group spiled out through the trees by the houses and jumped the Lycans that began and ready to defined themselves.

At the moment the blood beat through my ears silencing the night as for a moment I watched in horror my pack got pounded on. Though it was only a moment knowing these Lycans were stronger and able to defend themselves already ripping apart one by one the red Immortals.

The blood shed begins.

I held my breath for a moment, a second that felt like eternity and sprung into action.
