Chapter 121
Cyrus paused, his expression serious. "Hayley, you know how much I despise clingy women."
On the other end of the line, Hayley fell silent. After a moment, she spoke through her tears. "Cyrus, that's not what I meant."
Cyrus clearly wasn't interested in listening any further. "Hayley, I've already given you time to transition your work. Once the baby is born, I'll make sure you're financially secure for the rest of your life."
Since Nancy was particularly sensitive about Hayley's presence, Cyrus was determined not to let Hayley cross paths with Nancy again.
Hearing Cyrus' warning, Hayley realized that arguing was pointless. All she could do was meekly reply, "I understand, Cyrus. I'll focus on staying healthy these next few months so I can give you and Nancy a healthy baby."
That seemed to please Cyrus. His stern expression finally relaxed.
"Hayley, you've been with me for a while. Although you can't return to Sunhaven, I can set up an overseas business just for you, with you as the sole contract. Your agent will accompany you, and I promise you'll become an international star."
Hayley let out a bitter laugh. "I see. Thank you, Cyrus. I'll go finish up my work then."
Cyrus grunted in acknowledgment and then hung up the phone.
Listening to the dial tone, Hayley's submissive demeanor vanished. She hurled her phone to the ground with all her might.
"Damn it!!"
A woman in professional attire, standing by the window, looked down at her.
With her short, sleek hair and a black business dress, she wasn't particularly striking, but her gaze was sharp and fierce.
Watching Hayley's twisted expression, she spoke with a mocking tone, "I told you, Mr. Gordon will always put his wife first. You've overestimated how important you are."
Hayley's eyes were bloodshot as she glared at the woman before her, shouting, "Ophelia, don't forget, if I leave Cyrus, you're coming with me."
Ophelia let out a cold laugh. "The problem is, you couldn't handle Mr. Gordon. This is a direct order from him. What can I do?"
Hayley was at a loss for words.
"Hayley, give it up. You might have caught Mr. Gordon's eye when you first joined the company, but you can't compare to Nancy."
Hearing Ophelia's words, Hayley's face darkened. "Why should I give up? Who says I'm inferior to Nancy? If I were, would Nancy have decisively erased her identity and left?"
"And haven't you noticed? I'm carrying Cyrus' child. He set off fireworks for me across the city. Everyone in the industry and the entire company knows I'm his woman! Ophelia, Cyrus has feelings for me!" "Feelings? If he truly had feelings for you, with Mrs. Gordon gone, he would have brought you home by now instead of sending you abroad to have the baby. How is that different from being exiled?" Ophelia retorted sharply.
Hayley's face turned various shades of red and purple. "I-I absolutely can't go abroad. I want to have the child and become Mrs. Gordon. Who cares about being an international star? Once I become Cyrus' wife and give birth, I'll have shares in The Gordon Group.
Then she wouldn't just be a mere actress; she'd be a wealthy, respected lady.
Ophelia looked at the furious Hayley, a dangerous glint in her eyes. "Do you have a plan to stay by Mr. Gordon's side?"
Hayley suddenly glanced at Ophelia. "You have a plan, don't you?"
Ophelia pondered aloud, "I do have an idea, but I'm not sure if you're willing to go through with it..." Hayley's eyes lit up as she asked, "What is it?"
Ophelia didn't answer right away. Instead, she leaned in and whispered into Hayley's ear.
A moment later, Hayley was determined. "That's a good plan. The position of Mrs. Gordon will be mine!"

Cyrus' quest to win back his wife quickly became a sensational topic online, capturing attention everywhere.
Not just locally, but abroad as well.
Unflattering photos of Lucy were plastered across the internet, including the dark web. The Allen Group's stocks plummeted, and all their business partners severed ties.
This led to a complete breakdown in The Allen Group's financial structure. In just a few days, the company was on the brink of bankruptcy.
