The Road to Rebirth Her Fresh Start and His Late Sorrow

Chapter 120

Nancy was taken aback for a moment.

Was Judson always this quick on the draw with insults?

But hearing Judson lay into Cyrus, Nancy couldn't help but smirk. "You're right. He really is that dumb." Seeing Nancy in a good mood, Judson deftly snatched her phone away. "Nancy, let's not dwell on this. How about we head home and catch some Ź's?"

"More sleep? We just had a full night of it," Nancy said with a playful eye-roll. "I need to freshen up first. You figure out breakfast, and then it's off to work. I've got a packed schedule this week."

With that, she didn't wait for Judson's reply and made her way to the bathroom.

Once Nancy was out of sight, Judson's attention returned to his phone as it buzzed with a new message.

It was from Baldrick. [Nancy, should we try to bury this news?]

Judson smirked slightly and quickly typed a response.

Baldrick, eager to see what Judson had to say, immediately played the voice message.

Judson's deep voice came through, smooth and confident.

"What does burying the news have to do with my wife? She had a tough night, and I didn't even mention it to her. Baldrick, stop trying to mess with our relationship. Anyway, I'm off to deliver some fresh clothes to my wife."

Baldrick's eyes narrowed, his temper rising at Judson's boldness. What was Judson trying to imply? Nancy had insisted Judson wasn't the deceitful type. Was he just making things up?

Determined, Baldrick's resolve strengthened; Judson needed to be handled-and soon. The man was becoming too much of a headache.

But for now, handling Cyrus was the top priority.

With a steely resolve, Baldrick dialed a number. "Intercept the intel. Make sure Cyrus' stuff doesn't hit the web here."

"Understood, Mr. Robertson."

"Judson, don't worry. I guarantee nothing from Cyrus will show up online abroad."

Judson listened to Michael's laid-back tone, responding with a curt acknowledgment, his focus still on the sound of running water from the bathroom.

His eyes darkened with determination. "Deal with Cyrus."

Judson had intended to focus solely on winning Nancy over, but if Cyrus insisted on stirring up trouble, he'd oblige him.

Michael chuckled, clearly amused. "No problem. Anyone who tries to come between Judson and his girl is asking for trouble."

Meanwhile, Cyrus stared at his phone, frustration etched on his face as he gripped it tightly.

He was determined to find Nancy, no matter where in the world she was hiding. When he did, he'd grovel

if he had to, and surely, Nancy, being the forgiving person she was, would take him back.

His thoughts were interrupted by the buzzing of his phone.

A flicker of hope crossed Cyrus' face. Could it be Nancy, softened by his online plea? Did she truly still care for him?

But as he glanced at the screen, his smile froze. It was Hayley.

Annoyance flared within him as he answered, his tone cold and clipped. "Speak."

Instantly, Hayley's voice, thick with tears, came through. "Cyrus, do you really have to send me away?"
