Chapter Saying Goodbye To My Troubles 74
Nydia was disgusted. She would rather be bitten by a dog than have Mick touch her again.
In a flash of desperation, she remembered the self-defense moves she had once learned. With a swift motion, she drove her knee upward."
"Ah!" Mick let out a painful yell, clutching at his abdomen. His face twisted in pain, his veins standing out on his forehead as he gritted his teeth.
"Nydia!" he growled, barely able to stand as he stumbled. "Where is she? Lock her up!"
His face was dripping with sweat, his eyes not just cold but filled with an urgent, almost frantic, expression.
Nydia immediately turned to run. The door was far away from her, so she decided to climb out of the window instead. But before she could, the door was suddenly kicked open. Mick immediately roared, "Grab her!"
But just as his voice fell, someone grabbed him by the shoulders. Before he could react, a punch landed on his face, making his head jerk to the side. Blood trickled from the corner of his lips.
As he tried to speak, another punch landed on the other side of his face. Then came a flurry of punches and kicks. He was surrounded by a group of people, unable to open his eyes from the blows.
Mick had no idea who these people were or how they managed to infiltrate his home.
Nydia stood frozen, watching in disbelief. She had barely pried open the window when the door was kicked in.
Her bodyguards, who she had hired, rushed in without her giving any further commands.
They had already taken action on their own.
Now, Mick was surrounded by them. If it weren't for the occasional groaning, Nydia would have thought he was dead.
With the upper hand, she no longer had to run. Once the groaning faded, the bodyguards finally stopped. They dragged Mick out of the room like a defeated dog.
They even had the decency to remove the bloodstained carpet.
Nydia sighed in relief. Just as she was about to leave, she saw two figures standing at the door -Eddie and Norman.

Eddie still had his usual cold, expressionless demeanor, radiating an unmistakable "don't
come near me" vibe. Norman, in his arms, had tears streaming down his face, his eyes swollen
and red.
"Ms. Vega." The small voice croaked, full of hurt and fear. Norman's voice was hoarse, trembling with emotion.
Eddie remained indifferent, his face unreadable. "He cried for you, and nothing could calm
him down," he said.
Upon hearing this, Nydia's heart melted. She hurried over and scooped Norman into her arms, holding him tightly. Norman still seemed dazed, his eyes fixated on her face.
She had been in a heated argument with Mick earlier, and she was in a disheveled state. There were scratches on her arms, and she figured Norman must have been scared by her condition. She whispered soothingly to him, "I'm fine. It's just that my makeup is a mess. I'm not hurt."
Norman blinked slowly as if processing what she had said. A few more tears fell from his eyes, landing softly in her hands. The sight tugged at her heart.
"I cried for so long, I thought you left me behind."
He began to sob quietly, as though afraid his crying might upset her. Eddie, who had made Norman cry, stood nearby and rubbed his nose, his usual icy expression softening with a hint of guilt.
But Nydia's attention was solely on Norman, her heart aching as she continued to comfort him. "Silly boy, you're so adorable, I could never leave you. I had something to handle today. That's why I couldn't see you. I promise, next time, no-there won't be a next time." Norman's eyes instantly lit up, and a smile slowly spread across his face. "You're looking for something? I'm good at finding treasures.
His mood shifted quickly, a bright smile blooming on his face as his earlier sadness seemed to
vanish.
