REBORN UNDER THE FULL MOON

Chapter 23: The King of Stealth

Kyle's

pov

I didn't hear anything from my father after some days. It was like he became quiet.

I was sure he was at home but I didn't see him.

I knew him. He wouldn't back down so quick. So he could be plotting something. It was best Lyla was ready.

I told Lyla to meet me for training today but there wasn't a reply. So I thought when I got there, she would be there already. But when I got to the bayou, she wasn't there. I tried calling her several times but her phone was switch off.

I started to get the strangest idea. I hoped my dad didn't so anything to her. I didn't know what to do.

I waited for a while but she didn't still show up. I had an idea but I decided to try calling her one last time before I executed my plan. I called her but it was still switch off.

The plan was to go to the territory and check if she was alright. I knew it might probably be the end of me but I thought I might have a chance.

I wasn't planning on killing anyone, I just wanted to check if she was there. After all, I was the king of stealth.

I ran and I reached there after few seconds. But it wasn't going to be easy. There were two guards outside. It would have been easy to kill them but I wasn't planning on starting a war between werewolves and humans all over again. Especially when they had a witch by there side.

I stood behind the bushes and thought of what to do. Then I thought of distracting them.

I threw a stone far away, I made sure it was not to close.

They both turned but they didn't move. I threw another at the same direction. After that, one of them went after the sound while the other stood at the same spot.

I ran as fast as I could. I over powered him and closed his mouth to prevent him from shouting. He bit me but it didn't cause anything to me.

I looked him in the eyes. "Do not shout. " I said to him. He became calm after I said that. I removed my hands from his mouth.

I looked at him again. "Nothing happened here. You didn't see me and you were just doing your duty. Got it?" I asked.

"Yes" he said nodding his head.

When I heard footsteps coming back, I ran inside.

I wondered how would begin to look for Lyla when everyone here would be after me.

I kept on walking around hoping that no one would sense me. I came to a room where I heard Aria's voice.

"Don't worry, by tomorrow you'll be okay. " she said to the person who was in there with her.

The plan was to wait for Aria to finish with the person she was attending to. Then I would follow her to see if she would go to Lyla.

"Thank you, Aria." The other person in the room responded. And it was Lyla.

I would always rrecognize that voice from anywhere.

What was wrong with her? Did my father do something to her? I thought.

"You don't have to thank me. You have to be strong for what is before you. "I heard Aria say.

What did Aria mean. I knew something was weird about Lyla from the start. The fact I had never recognized her before but I just pushed it away since I never recognized most women. She was also a very fast learner. An average werewolf wouldn't learn all those skills in one day of training.

Even as a hybrid, I couldn't learn as quick as that. I became more curious when my dad was so interested in her.

It was obvious he wasn't into her like I thought at first, it was something else.

"Of course." Lyla said.

"I'll come back and check up on you." I heard Aria say and I knew she was living so I hid.

After I saw her leave, I quietly entered Lyla's room. "Do you need something else, Aria?" she turned. "Kyle?"

She was surprised to see me. And was also frightened at the same time. She started to look around.

She stood up slowly. She wasn't as active as she normally was. She closed to window in the room.

"What the hell are you doing here?" she asked

Ungrateful. I risked my life to come and see her and she was shouting. If only she knew what I went through because of her. "I came to see you." I answered.

She looked somewhat pale. My father didn't do anything to her, she was just sick.

"Why?" she questioned.

"You didn't show up for training today and I tried calling you but your phone was switch off. " I answered.

She sat down on her bed while I closed the door. "I forgot to charge it. I was too busy being sick to remember." she responded.

At least when she was sick she didnt rant at all. That was a good side.

"You know you shouldn't be here. You could be killed. Leave while you still can." she suggested.

"They can't kill me easily even if they tried hard enough. "I joked.

"You haven't seen what I have seen that's why you're saying that." she said but I ignored her.

"Are you okay?" I asked her.

I could see she was weak.

Being a werewolf couldn't stop you from being sick. You can be sick like any human. Just like you can age like them.

"I'm fine. I just hate being this weak. " she said and an idea came to me.

"Do you want my blood?" I asked.

Then she looked at me. "Does it heal sickness too?" she asked.

"I guess it's only one way to find out. "I said and looked at her.

She hesitated for a bit. Then she nodded.

I tore my wrist with my teeth and signalled her to drink. She drank for some time and stopped.

I looked at her. "How do you feel?" I asked.

"I..." she said but was interrupted by the door than was pushed open.

It was Aria. "What is he doing here?" she asked. she wasn't happy about the situation at all.

"Aria, calm down. He just came to see me." she said while standing up.

She didn't stand up weakly. She looked like her active self and she knew it. She looked at me and smiled.

"I don't care. You can't be here. Leave." she demanded.

Right when I thought she had started trusting me. "Fine, I'll go. See you."

I said to Aria before sneaking out back.
