Chapter Remarriage You 417

Chapter 417 Proving Innocence

"I didn't steal it, and I won't admit to something I didn't do. Mr. Wesley, I hope you'll give me a chance to clear my name. I want to confront Ivan. If it's indeed proven that I stole the necklace, I'll resign voluntarily. My initial choice of Saleel Photography was because I admired their convictions."

Lenora glanced at Ivan. "If my guilt was determined solely by a vague testimony, I would deeply regret my initial choice. Saleel Photography doesn't deserve such pure and untainted faith."

"Fine, let's clarify then, so no one can accuse me of being unsympathetic."

Seeing Lenora speak in such a manner, how could Wesley not agree?

Isla's eyes flashed, instantly intervening, "Wesley, why are you even listening to her long-winded explanations? She's just trying to argue her way out, looking for a way to escape blame!"

"Isla, are you feeling guilty?" Lenora chuckled lightly. "If I really did steal the necklace, you should be backing Ivan to confront me, pinning me straight to the pillar of shame!"

"Hmph, what do I have to feel guilty about?"

"Then let's face off!"

Isla wanted to say something more, but Wesley stopped her. "Let's just do the confrontation."

Irritated, Isla shot Lenora a stern look.

"Ivan." Lenora's voice was stern as she questioned. "Since you claim you saw me steal Ms. Isla's necklace, could you please tell me when and where you supposedly witnessed this theft? And what were Isla and Annie doing at that time?"

Ivan paused for a moment, appearing to recall, then said, "It was probably around two in the afternoon. We were at Studio No.2 during a break in filming. Ms. Isla was a bit tired, and Annie was getting her a drink of water. That's when you seized the opportunity to steal the necklace."

"That's not impossible. Ms. Isla's handbag was placed in the west corner of the photo studio, right next to the water bottle and cup. How could I have possibly had the chance to steal the necklace?"

"When Annie was reaching for a tissue, she unzipped her handbag. Today, I saw you swiftly snatch the necklace from her bag while she was turned away."

Lenora chuckled. "Are you sure about that? But, I made a mistake just now. Ms. Isla's purse wasn't placed on the west side, it was actually on the south side. So, how could I have stolen the necklace?"

Ivan's face turned pale, instinctively he glanced at Wesley and swallowed. "I-Is that so? I was shooting in -the nearby studio, I don't quite recall, it seems that the handbag was on the south side, but I definitely saw

you taking something out of it."

"But from what I understand, looking from your studio to Studio No.2, the corner on the south side is a blind spot, completely out of view. So, how were you able to see it?"

"Um... I-I was quite desperate to use the restroom at that time, and I just happened to pass by."

"Hahaha" Lenora started laughing, "Iven, the photographer, have you forgotten? The backdrop of Studio No.2 is on the south side. Anything in the south comer could easily get into the frame and interfere with the shoot. How could I proudly have allowed anything to be placed there?"

Ivars forehead was covered in a thin layer of sweat. Heopened his mouth to speak, but no words came

"Mr. Wesley, I believe the situation is quite clear. If my hemory serves me right, there are security cameras installed in the photo studio. Whether or not stole Ms. Isla's necklace, the footage will show it all. If you still have doubts, you're more than welcome to review the surveillance video."

"I believe in you"

With a somber expression, Wesley glanced at Ivan, his gaze then shifting toward Isla.

Isla quiltily averted her gaze, feeling a mix of irritation and urgency. She glared at Ivan intensely.

It was all his fault for giving a false testimony. Wesley was her friend, and as long as she insisted that it was Fay who stole her necklace, Wesley would surely stand by her side.

Yet, when Ivan stepped forward, he inadvertently exposed a loophole that was caught by Fay.

Ivan, why did you slander Fay? Aren't you going to apologize?"

Ivan's fists clenched tightly, hanging by his side. His face was taut, a visible sign of his frustration as he looked away, remaining silent.

"Do you really want me to shove the surveillance footage in your face?"

Wesley questioned, "Or are you saying, you want to be fired? Slandering colleagues, refusing to apologize, Saleel Photography doesn't need such employees!"

Ivan gritted his teeth, reluctantly uttering, "I'm sorry, Fay."

"And what else?"

"I shouldn't have accused you of stealing Ms. Isla's necklace without any proof. I apologize," Ivan said, his head lowered.

All eyes were on him, and Ivan truly wished he could just disappear into a crack in the ground right then

and there.

He couldn't bear to imagine how Wesley and Lilliane would perceive him in the future.

Wesley turned to Lenora. "Enough," he said, "Let's put an end to this matter. From now on, no one should bring it up again"

"Wait, Ms. Isla," Lenora's eyes burned into Isla's with an intensity that was hard to ignore. "You've accused me of stealing your necklace without any reason, tarnishing my reputation. You owe me an apology!"

Isla huffed, "Indeed, my necklace is lost. I was merely expressing a reasonable suspicion. I didn't do anything to you, and you want an apology? Dream on!"

"Mr. Wesley." Lenora looked at Wesley. "Are customers really allowed to slander Saleel Photography's photographers and refuse to apologize?"

Upon seeing Lenora seeking justice from Wesley, both Isla and Wesley exchanged a glance, their faces twisting in displeasure before they turned their heads away.

Having been friends with Isla for many years, Wesley knew getting her to apologize was an impossibility.

He said, "It's just a misunderstanding, Fay. Don't dwell on it. All right, everyone leave now, I need to speak with Lilliane."

Upon hearing this, Isla raised her eyebrows in triumph, offering Lenora a smile. "Let's go, Annie. Wesley, I'll treat you to a meal another day."

Ivan had long been reluctant to stay here, so he immediately left.

Lenora pursed her lips tightly, casting a glance at Wesley.

Seeing Lenora still standing there, Wesley turned to glance at her. "Fay, I've already shown you enough respect on this matter, you shouldn't dwell on it any longer."

"I was slandered, shouldn't an apology be in order?" Lenora said, her voice laced with mockery.

Wesley's tone was less than pleasant. "Is there anything else you need?"

Lilliane gave Lenora a meaningful glance, signaling her not to provoke Wesley any further.

Lenora was grateful for Lilliane's kindness, but unfortunately, she no longer wished to stay in Saleel Photography. So, she said, "I want to resign."

Wesley paused, lifting his gaze to meet Lenora's. A smile tugged at his lips. "Fay, are you threatening me?

Lenora calmly stated, "No, it's just that I feel this place isn't worth my time and there's no need for me to stay here, so I'm resigning."

She was aware that Isla was the young lady of the Wilson family, and Wesley was reluctant to offend her.

Lenora and Isla had a history of conflict. If she chose to stay here, it was inevitable that Isla would give her a hard time again, and her boss wouldn't back her up.

Lilliane was fair and just, but in front of Isla and Wesley, she found herself at a loss for words.

So, it was best for her to leave this place.

"Fay, do you want to think it over?" Lilliane asked.

"There's no need, thank you for taking care of me these past few days, I'm truly grateful. If there's anything here that makes me reluctant to leave, it's only you. I'm going to write my resignation letter now and send it to your email. I hope you'll approve it." Lilliane glanced at Wesley.

Wesley seemed nonchalant. "Didn't she ask for your approval? If you approve, that's all that matters. After all, Saleel Photography can always hire another photographer."

As expected of a young person, they were stubborn and obstinate, naive to the ways of the world. It would be better off without such individual
