Upon reaching Lilliane's office, Lenora truthfully admitted that the photographs she took weren't to Isla's expectations and asked Lilliane to assign the latter a different photographer.

Such an incident wasn't an isolated case. It had happened at work in the past. Some photographers disdained the clients for being too demanding, while some clients despised the photographers for their lack of skills.

Isla was Wesley's friend, and Lilliane knew her as well.

In the past, whenever Isla wanted to have a photo shoot, it was always Wesley who personally handled it. But this time, the woman had specifically sought her out and asked for Fay by name. At that time, she had felt that something was out of the ordinary. With Fay having conse to seek her out then, understanding dawned upon her-there was bad blood between Isla and Fay.

Although Fay had only recently joined the studio, Lilliane had seen her work and felt that she was an exceptionally talented photographer.

Isla, on the other hand, was the only daughter of the Wilson family. She was arrogant, willful, and needed to be babied.

Despite having specifically asked for Fay to be her photographer, she was not satisfied with the resulting work.

Thus, Lilliane surmised that Isla was deliberately giving Fay a hard time.

She had no idea of the grudge between them, but Fay was currently an employee of the studio, so she couldn't stand by and do nothing as Isla used the studio and work as a means to make life difficult for Fay

She flashed Lenora a smile. "Don't worry just yet. I'll give her a call and ask her about it."

Then, she made the call. "Hello, Ms. Isla. It's me, Lilliane. I heard you're not satisfied with the photos Fay took?"

Since the matter had come to Lilliane's knowledge, Isla had no choice but to admit, "Yes. Her skills were subpar. She made me into an ugly freak. It truly baffles me why your studio would hire such an incompetent photographer!" Lilliane had personally interviewed Fay, so she was naturally unhappy to hear such a comment from Isla.

Nonetheless, her smile remained. "In that case, I'll get you a different photographer. Let me see who's available right now. Alright, I understand."

After hanging up the phone, she looked up and said to Lenora, "Alright, you can go home first and wait for tomorrow's schedule."

"Thank you."

And so, Lenora headed home ahead of schedule.

Halfway home, her phone rang. She glanced at the screen, only to see that it was a call from Lilliane.

She answered the call in puzzlement. "Hello? Lilliane? Is something the matter?"

"Please make a trip back. Something came up."

Lilliane's voice was somewhat stern over the phone, making Lenora's heart leap into her chest.

"Okay, I'll head back right now."

Left with no other choice, Lehora could only turn back

Just as Lenora arrived back at Lilliane's office, her steps faltered.

Apart from Lilliane, Isla, her maid, and another photographer named Ivan were also there in the office.

At the sight of Lenora having returned, a subtle hint of a smile crinkled the corners of Isla's eyes.

Lenora's gaze swept over the other three outsiders before settling on Lilliane. She asked, "Why did you call me back, Lilliane?" Before Lilliane could answer, Isla sneered and barked, "Stop playing dumb! You stole my necklace, so hand it back to me!" Immediately, Lenora understood that it was Isla causing trouble for her.

I've never even laid eyes on her necklace from beginning to end. How could I possibly have stolen it?

"You're accusing me of stealing your necklace? Do you have any proof?" Lenora stared right at the woman, her gaze searing.

"There's a witness." Isla shot her maid a look.

Her maid immediately stepped forward and said, "Ms. Wilson's necklace was in her handbag all the while. From beginning to end, you were the only one who could have come into contact with the handbag apart from me. Who else could have stolen it, if not you?" "Who knows, you're the thief!" Lenora snorted contemptuously. "I'd noticed you acting suspicious earlier as if hiding something. It turns out that you stole a necklace and wanted to pin it on me!" "N-Nonsense!"

Lilliane had seemingly figured everything out. Yet, she couldn't expose Isla directly.

She glanced at the maid beside Isla and interjected, "Ms. Isla, it's hard to say who stole it. How about I check the surveillance footage?"

Seeing that Lilliane was getting sidetracked, Isla pointed at Lenora, insisting, "Lilliane, I trust Annie. There's no way she could have stolen my necklace. It must have been Fay! I want a body search done!" Annie was the name of the maid.

Before Isla could speak, Lenora silenced her by pointing at Annic and saying, "She's in your employ, so she doesn't count as a witness."

Again, Lilliane suggested, "Let's just check the surveillance footage. There's a chance it might have fallen out, and someone else picked it up."

Isla was about to say something when a young man dressed in casual attire walked in from outside at that precise moment.

Upon seeing the swarm of people in the office, he was taken aback for a moment. His gaze swept over the crowd, and he asked, "What's going on here? What happened?"

When Ivan saw Wesley, a bold idea flashed across his mind.

He involuntarily clenched his hands and stole a glance at Lenora, eager to put his plan into motion.

Isla's eyes lit up as if she had seen her savior. She immediately stepped forward and pointed at Lenora. "Wesley, you came at just the perfect time. She stole my necklace but refused to even admit it! Wesley's gaze landed on Lenora. He looked her up and down for a few seconds before turning and shifting his gaze to Lilliane.

Lilliane immediately explained, "Ms. Isla accused Fay of stealing her necklace. However, there's no evidence."

Lenora also sized Wesley up, for it was her first time meeting him.

Although his name is Wesley, his Clusian features are evident. Judging by Lilliane's behavior, he's probably the owner of the studio, huh?

Suddenly, Ivan, who was standing at the side, spoke up. Actually..."

Everyone in the office swung their gazes at him simultaneously.

"What is it?" Wesley asked.

"I saw Fay take the necklace from Isla's handbag," Ivan said, looking back at everyone present without any change in expression.

"Really?"

"You're lying!"

Two voices rang out in unison.

Lenora glared at Ivan in shock and anger. "Why are you slandering me when there's no grudge between us?"

"Stop denying it, Fay. I saw you taking the necklace from Ms. Isla's handbag with my own eyes. As you said, there's no grudge between us. Why would I slander you? It can only prove that I'm telling the truth." A glint of triumph flashed across Isla's eyes. "Hand over my necklace now!"

Wesley frowned, looking at Lenora in displeasure. "Fay, return the necklace to Isla and apologize to her, and I'll let this matter slide."

Ivan is a seasoned photographer who has worked at the studio for many years and never had any conflict with Fay. He'd never lie. Lilliane sighed and said nothing.

Meanwhile, Lenora laughed in anger. "How could I return a necklace I never stole? And I have no idea why Ivan would bear false witness."

"The witness is right here, yet you still won't admit it?" Wesley chastised. I never expected this newly hired photographer to not only be a thief but also a blatant liar.

"Wesley, I think someone with such questionable character as her should be dismissed directly!" Isla snarled.

Back then, she had considered having Wesley pass over Lenora's job application. But on second thought, she realized that it wouldn't cause any real harm to the latter. With her being stamped as a thief now, no other studios would hire her even if she tried applying for work elsewhere!
