Louis couldn't bring himself to leave the hospital. He wanted to do something for Angelina. He grabbed some food and fruit from the cafeteria and then arranged for someone to deliver two of Angelina's favorite handbags as well as some baby clothes. The baby was Chester's, but Angelina was the one who gave birth. Louis knew that if he treated the baby well, Angelina would be happy. If Angelina wasn't happy, she would definitely ignore him. In his mind, the baby was Angelina's child, not Chester's. Louis picked up the handbags and baby clothes at the hospital entrance, ready to head upstairs and deliver them. Chester was nothing but a has-been, still trying to act tough. Who did he think he was? Louis scoffed to himself.
"Louis!" Alexander called out. Ryan stood beside him, with Megan and Rosalind walking in shortly after. Joshua trailed behind, his arms laden with bags. He looked like a pack mule.
Joshua muttered, still lugging the bags, "Why bring up Louis at a time like this? Say his name and the Whitmores will get furious. You've got no awareness..." He followed Ryan's gaze and froze. "L-Louis..."
Megan eyed Louis from head to toe, raising an eyebrow. "What are you doing here?" she asked.
"What do you think? I'm here to see Angie." Louis said, ignoring their surprised and suspicious glances. He brushed past them without a second thought.
Rosalind took a good look at Louis, the man everyone had been talking about. He was handsome, but not the kind to stun someone at first glance. Instead, he carried a quiet intensity. Everything he had, he earned on his own; his family had given him nothing- A self-made man like him was both charming and attractive.
Still, Rosalind couldn't understand why a guy like Louis would fall for Angelina. Megan told her he was completely obsessed with Angelina, and Rosalind found it hard to believe. To Rosalind, Angelina wasn't all that special. She didn't seem good enough for either Chester
or
Louis.
As Louis tried to pass by, Alexander suddenly grabbed his arm and kicked him hard. The food spilled, getting all over Louis.
"Alexander!" Louis exclaimed, startled and furious.
"Pack up your stuff and get lost!" Alexander shouted.
Ryan quickly stepped in. "Alexander, what are you doing? We're all friends here."
She just delivered her baby. Have you no shame, Louis? How could you show up here to steal her away?" Alexander growled. "You know very well-" Chapter 47
"I know what?" Louis interrupted, his tone sharp "I know nothing."
Alexander lunged forward, his voice sharp with anger. "Listen up, Louis. Don't push it. Chester's in this state, and instead of helping him, you're trying to steal his wife." Ryan shot Megan a pleading look, gesturing for her to do something. Megan stood up.
"Alexander's right, Louis," she said firmly. "Whatever happened before, she has a child with Chester now. Are you really trying to be the other man?"
"The other man?" Louis repeated, his voice filled with hurt and disbelief.
"That's exactly what you're being right now," Megan said coldly.
Ryan facepalmed himself, quietly moving next to Megan. "I asked you to break up the fight, not add fuel to the fire," he muttered. "Do you want things to get worse?" "I think Alexander did the right thing," Megan replied.
While Megan spoke to Ryan, Alexander advanced on Louis with furrowed brows. "Are you leaving, or do I have to call security?" "Why?" Louis demanded.
"Because you're trying to break up my friend's family," Alexander retorted.
"Is only Chester your friend?" Louis shot back.
"No, you both are. But since you're trying to be the other man here, I can't see you as a friend anymore," Alexander said tightly. "Touch me and see what happens..." Louis challenged.
Before Louis could react, Alexander kicked him hard. "I won't let anyone mess with my friend's family," he said coldly. Chapter 48
