Chapter hand 358
Chapter 0358
What kind of sincerity are you talking about?” Evelyn gritted her teeth as she asked.
The angrier Evelyn got, the more Lucy enjoyed herself.
“You’re eager to settle this quickly and move on; I get it. But my son and I have been in Elgerson for almost two weeks now. We’ve been staying in the hospital, sleeping on those uncomfortable beds meant for the patient’s caregiver.
“It’s taken a toll on my body–my back aches, my legs cramp! And don’t forget, your careless driver almost scared me to death a few days ago. I’ve suffered both physically and mentally, and I need to fully recover before we continue this conversation…”
“Just get to the point! What do you want?” Evelyn’s patience was running thin, and the vein on her forehead throbbed uncontrollably with every word Lucy said.
Lucy smirked. “Well then… How about arranging a hotel stay for my son and me? A five–star one, of course. Oh, and I’d prefer that… What’s it called again? The presidential…”
Franklin whispered, “Presidential suite.”
“Yes, the presidential suite!”
Evelyn had to take yet another deep breath to control her frustration. “Fine!”
She immediately instructed the butler to book the hotel and the room for this shameless pair.
That very night, Lucy and Franklin checked into the Transcontinental Hotel near the hospital.
Since the presidential suite was already booked, the butler called to negotiate. After some persistent persuasion, Lucy finally agreed to stay in a slightly less luxurious business suite.
However, the luxury still astonished the two of them.
“Oh my goodness, there are actually two bedrooms and three bathrooms! And there’s even a private gym and swimming pool…” Franklin walked around in awe, his mouth hanging open. “Do rich people really live this extravagantly?
“Three bathrooms, even for just using the toilet! Do they actually separate them for morning, afternoon. and night?”
Lucy swallowed hard as she explored, touching everything around her. “And this is only the business suite. I can’t even imagine how fancy the presidential suite must be! Jeez… How much would it cost to stay just one night here?”
Franklin said, “Who cares how much it costs? It’s not like we’re paying for it! Mom, come and look at this; there’s a menu here with dishes I’ve never even heard of.”
Lúcy walked over and glanced at it.
Woah! There were two whole menus, covering dishes from all over the world. Every cuisine imaginable was included.
But what shocked her the most was the pricing. The cheapest dish was over 50 dollars!

Chapter 0358
“Are they robbing people?”
“Mom, I’m hungry…” Franklin stared at the pictures and swallowed hard.
Lucy’s eyes shifted cunningly as she took out her phone and called Evelyn. “Just arranging a place to stay isn’t enough. I need to eat well and drink well to recover quickly.”
Not wanting to waste any words on her, Evelyn snapped, “Order whatever you want, just put it on the tab and don’t bother me with these trivialities!”
She hung up immediately.
Lucy smiled as she put her phone away. “Hungry, right? Go ahead, order.”
“Are you sure we don’t have to pay ourselves?”
“Didn’t you just hear her? It’s all on them!”
Without hesitating, she ordered several of the most expensive dishes.
Before long, the hotel staff arrived, pushing a cart with the meals. They smiled the entire time and even poured wine for them personally.
As Lucy and Franklin savored the cuisine they’d never tried before, along with the high–class service, they felt like they were floating. So this was how the wealthy lived?
It seemed asking for 50 million had been too little; they should’ve demanded more!
Evelyn believed that once she satisfied Lucy’s demands, the woman would probably enjoy herself for a few days. She’d put on some airs, and then finally contact her for the money.
By then, Evelyn thought, she’d just throw 500 to 600 thousand at her and be done with it. Even if Lucy made an outrageous demand, it wouldn’t be more than a couple of millions.
To Evelyn, that amount was less than what she’d spend on a shopping spree at Luxus Emporium. It was just the price of peace and quiet.
