Done with his words, Hansel also left. After already being scolded by her husband and now blamed by her son, Evelyn almost exploded with anger.

“What’s wrong with both of you? How can you both blame me? Everything I did was for you! None of you understand my intentions! Go ahead, leave–just leave! Don’t ever come back again!

“My husband yells at me, and my son is ungrateful! Now I’ve lost my grandchild too. How many lifetimes of bad luck did I need to end up with such a mess?”

After venting, Evelyn collapsed onto the couch, exhausted. But the matter at hand still needed to be

resolved.

She took a deep breath and ordered the butler to find Lucy’s contact details. Soon, she received a phone

number.

Evelyn drew in a deep breath and dialed…

“Hello? Who is this?” Lucy sounded irritated, still frustrated that after posting so many videos, there wasn’t any significant response.

“Mrs. York, this is Evelyn Stewart,” Evelyn introduced herself.

Lucy’s eyes lit up. In that instant, all her annoyance and anxiety vanished.

“Ohhh,” Lucy dragged out the syllable, putting on airs. It’s you. What do you want?

Well, she thought, maybe the videos worked after all! It seemed the impact was paying off.

“Let’s talk,” Evelyn cut straight to the point.

Lucy exchanged a glance with her son. “Talk about what? What could we possibly have to discuss?

Evelyn’s patience snapped. “Stop pretending! You’ve stirred up all this trouble just to get money, haven’t you?”

Lucy’s eyes gleamed with cunning. “Oh, you mustn’t say such things! I’m only here to seek justice for my daughter. How did that become about money in your version of events?”

“Ha, you hypocrite.” Evelyn sneered.

Lucy gritted her teeth. “I suggest you speak to me with a little more respect. You’re the one begging me now, so get your priorities straight!”

“No need for all the nonsense. Just say how much you want. Think of it as charity. My family donates quite a bit every year; one more contribution won’t make a difference.”

Charity? Donation?

Lucy laughed in disbelief. Initially, she had planned to name her price, but Evelyn’s condescending, patronizing tone was infuriating.

She changed her mind suddenly. “Don’t be so hasty. Weren’t you the one who tried to run us over with your car just a few days ago? You look down on us, but now you’re calling me first, aren’t you?

Chapter 0357

Lucy’s goal was to get money and compensation, but before that, she wanted to humiliate Evelyn and vent her anger.

Evelyn cursed silently, calling her ungrateful. She wanted to hang up right then, but Richard’s warning echoed in her mind. She took a deep breath, determined to get this over with as quickly as possible.

“Why waste time with this? Just name your price!”

Lucy sensed the impatience and disdain in Evelyn’s tone but deliberately refused to state a number. ” What’s the rush? Shouldn’t you start by apologizing to me?”

Evelyn clenched her teeth, holding back her anger. Fine, she’d endure it!

“That was entirely my driver’s fault. He wasn’t paying attention and didn’t see you. I’ll make sure he’s fired.”

Lucy snorted. “Firing a driver doesn’t change anything. Did you think that would be enough to settle this? Money alone won’t cut it.”

“What do you want?” Evelyn snapped, losing her composure.

Lucy replied calmly, “You should at least show some sincerity, don’t you think, Mrs. Johnson?”

A chill ran down Evelyn’s spine.

A sense of foreboding gripped her heart.
