Chapter 9
Wolf
After a long stare down and the Lycans claiming they are from the Gold Claw Pack. Wolf, his parents, wife and few other settled in the village center with the strangers. They sat around the burned pit of lags. Wolf stared at them as they did with their followers at Wolf and Asema. There wasn’t much talking as everyone was sizing up one another encase there is a surprised attack.
Others of the pack had returned captiously to their roles but still kept the children at bay with the elders. Thanks goodness his children were okay. But he watched the strangers as they made no move for anything, only like they wanted him or Asema to start. Though he still trying to wrap his head around those people, they did look like similar to as what they were described in history lessons. Even more so as the sun shines down on their golden skin, making their hair seem like halos. But it had to be impossible Wolf thought. The Gold Claw pack was ancient Lycan Pack to come into existence, they were told to be powerful or one of the powerful packs.
Like Hunters Forest but their powers were known to be connected to the element, specifically element of fire. But throughout the years they began to fade and soon were known as deceased because of war that happened and under breeding or neither. No one knew for sure.
But here they were, before Wolf and Asema in the Flesh and Wolf thought for a moment he was delusional, but luckily Asema kept him at bay. But still reminded him.
’Wolf we need answer, get out of your head!” Asema voice echoed in his mind snapping him to attention but he did listen.
He straightened himself and breathed, “you claim you are from the Gold Claw pack and you seem to fit the image that we understand of you but how are you still existing and why are you here, because of unbalance?” Wolf kept his voice steady well least tried too as he knew he needed to stay confident and be seen as a leader.
The male did not rise up to Wolf just kept slumped telling Wolf hat was all the power he needed and for some reason that put Wolf to ease.
“We understand you are wary of our presence knowing we have disappeared and no longer spoken of.” Ashbjorn was still struggling with the language and Wolf could tell, as if the common tongue was not common at all for him.
Wolf assumed his Luna Ursuline stepped in “and we exist because threats to our pack became big so we chose to hide and live in harmony with others, that s until the news about you and the great legend married.”
Wolf glanced at Asema who already brought her attention to him and concern riddled in her eyes. Wolf didn’t know what to say but Ursuline continues as if they interaction between and Asema never existed.
“As first we did know what to think as it never been heard of, a immortal and Lycan becoming one or even that matter to reproduce children of half and half equally…” She slowed allowing Ashbjorn to chime in.
“We thought in elements as something is not completely, every element power if beginning to weaken, and it began after you union…so that is why we are here and questioning you, what did you do to cause this unbalance?” he finished sounding confident in his words now.
“and also” Ursuline added in, “obviously it seems it was meant to be with you two, but how the hell did you come together?”
Now it was that silence that everyone leaned into to hear a answer that Wolf was not sure how to answer. HE looked to Asema again but she too looked at a loss for words. Silently he hated to admit this but the question would keep coming.
Wolf cleared his throat, “We all know that electric pulse followed by sheer heat between our mates?” a general question to all, too that everyone nodded even the Gold Claw pack. So he continued on but did not reach for Asema, and for the first time she was confused by this action.
“When I first saw her, locked eyes, immediate feeling came, at first I thought my mind was playing tricks on me, thinking no Immortal cannot be mated within a Lycan, but time grew and our bond intensified, and there is your reasoning…now speak of this unbalance now you have you answer” Wolf changed the subject quickly avoiding a private moment he shared with Asema. There was more to it but everyone only needed to know the basics that was it. The Luna and Alpha understood and the attention went back to them.
“Our powers flow with fire, even though we are Lycans and stereotype we belong to the moon, but our power are stronger to the sun.” Ashbjorn spoke and now it seemed he was confident in speaking the common tongue, “But power we said before is fading, and like we said before, feel there is a missing link…so explain to us your union.” He began to demand, “and help us, including every other creature out there, yoru union and how it many or not relate to the element break connection.”
Wolf prepared himself to speak but was taken aback by Asema who asked one simple word.
“Why?”
Wolf didn’t think she sounded offended or worried, but her face showed a leader questioning commands of someone high and she would not have it. Wolf brought his attention to the strangers and they too look taken aback as if they never been questioned like this before. Having their high up status questioned by someone who wasn’t even a Lycan, Ursuline nostrils flared with annoyance and Ashbjorn jaw clenched. They were going to explode, Wolf thought and this time grabbed Asema hand for the back lash.
“Why?” It wasn’t a holler but a voice filled with power by the Luna. “Because, the fairies want to know if a certain type of magic or power brought you and your husband together, a certain now type of magic,” Asema hand tightened around his as she felt the first blow but she showed a front, she will hold her position.
“Higher up giants want to know how great your power is together or if your power is even great.”
Another blow and Asema hand squeezing began to get painful, though Wolf held on. Hoping ti would be over soon.
“Speaking of power, the trolls and goblins form respected families need to know if you union power together makes you either dangerous power, or good set of power that could create mayhem.”
Wolf felt Asema loosen her hand but body began to tense, but her poker face was there.
“So why?” Ursuline shot back the question, “Because everyone wants to know how two species, a Immortal and a Lycan” she pointed at the both of them. “How you two came together because opposite species has never been heard of and do not exist, till now.”
The next voice surprised everyone and Wolf heart dropped just hearing his little voice come through the crowd.
“Because they love each other, and Love is greater than anything else.” Junior said, as all heads snapped to his entrance and followed his every move till he stopped in front of Wolf and began to climb onto Wolf lap. With a smile of debarment Wolf helped him scooping up his son placing a protective arm around him, letting everyone know we would not let a finger touch his son. But worry and a pit a of despair puzzled Wolf as they still did not know anything about these strangers and he was sacred now. But impression that Junior showed, no fear only showed himself proud for speaking a truth that everyone needed to hear.
What Wolf didn’t expect was to see true amazement written on the Luna and Alpha of the Gold Claw Pack. As if they were seeing a child… no a hybrid for the first time.
Wolf sometimes forgot that hybrid never existed till Junior was born. But he never saw it that way, he only saw his beautiful son who could him papa and that is all he needed. He brought his attention back to the surprised stilled Lycans. Till one shook from a trance and spoke a language he did not understand.
“S fiour humlrouk ki ulou” Ashbjorn voice laced the words with his familiar language. Though another surprise came and the voice was Asema.
“Ou ki mis rmiw wham ws shiek lu canier ccan” it was as it always was when she spoke a different language, use of words were like her own and no harm to her mouth.
He stared at his wife who again seemed surprised by his reactions.
’They’re surprised a hybrid exist, meaning Junior, I just said why it should be their concern,” she thought to him and Wolf felt nothing but stared are the couple opposite of them. A cloud of grey passed by creating needed shade that was only for a moment and felt himself instantly ease under the breeze. But to soon the sun returned to a not so blazing heat but a liveable one.
“I have a question, choose answer wisely.” Wolf was not playing around , he needed to get to the bottom of this now. He had their attention knowing the authority he had now and placed a willing Junior in his mother arms. Who launched onto her neck already being covered by her dark golden hair.
“You come here questioning and demanding answers, yet you do not attack, you keep the peace that I gladly respect, but the final thought for my family and pack is…” he studied them one more time, “should we be worried of you?” Wolf stood only because to guard and be ready for a surprise attack. Though it never came. The Alpha rose making a similar height to Wolf and came forward to him extending a hand out and eyed Wolf. Staying put. He what that offering meant in this culture. A alliance.
“No,” Ashbjorn softly said, “we want a alliance, we want to protect you and a future you so on to be building.” And extended his hand again. Wolf thought about how many alliance they have made in last two months about people wanting to protect them and honestly Wolf did not know what to think of it but had a warm nudge. A feeling form Asema, telling him she trusted them.
Wolf brought his focus to the strong golden eyes of Ashbjorn and there he saw truth. He extended his hand shaking, committing to hopeful bright future.
