Chapter 19
To everyone surprise Kai and Demeter were actually quite pleasant. They didn’t give a how to step by step rather letting us know what to expect.
We talked in a board room or some discussion room, about what I needed to do. “You will enter, we do not know when but a place where the realms are hidden. The location always changes for safety reasons, to now looks like that safety is in no longer effect.”
I continuously nod and take in every inch of their words, hoping to memorize any imprint of their words into my mind. What shocked me is that since I have a union with Wolf my powers to summon a spell are stronger with him if we use our powers together. I almost asked how but they gave me a glare to not state the obvious. I swallowed.
Though they were generous enough to give us a spell to use to figure out the location. To that I was grateful for.
These people were truly nice or either they wanted me to succeed in order to bring back balance. To that I am not sure. Again, they spoke.
“Once you are in the care, the words and magic will flow out of you as if you always belong. Do not worry. You are meant to do this.”
With that we left to our respectful huts accommodated by the royals, so we could have a good night sleep. Already we thanked them for the hospitality even though our first encounter d did not start nice.
Exiting and now walking along the path to our huts. The night was alive and life of the kingdom was already retiring to their places.
Damon and Wolf behind chatting while Emily and I lead the way. Thuse escaped earlier setting forth to his own private quarters.
I slowed and Emily followed suit probably curious to know if I have anything on my mind. The crunching ground below my feet soon faded yet I kept walking.
“Asema, something is wrong, what?” she spoke at me.
I did not nudge her away but answered, “What if we don’t get a location, we still have no idea where this place is.” I spoke.
Feet in the distance picked and someone grabs my hand placing his lips onto my hand.
“I know” Wolf speaks, “but least we are getting somewhere.”
I rake some of my hair behind my ear, “Yeah it just do we know if this spell will work? Who knows they could be sending us on a goose chase.”
Everyone laughs but me, that catches everyone’s attention to know I am dead serious.
Our huts come into view as they are a few stories up on the tree attached. Luckily stairs that spiral around the trunk reach up to them. Wolf stops us at the start of the stairs. Bringing or making sure I have my attention to him. Emily fades into back making her way to the two steps and leans on the railing provide as Damon soon comes behind her.
“Asema” Wolf voice brings my attention to him, “we will find the place it can’t be unknown, besides the spell they gave may give clues encase it does not work.”
I stare into this eyes as he does to mine, red onto golden-green a odd mixture if you think about it.
“Besides,” Emily leans farther over the railing, “if none of this works I may have pretty good idea where it is.”
That turned a few heads, “Where?” Wolf and I questioned.
“It is deep into the abyss a place you would not think of, almost a cage area of the world. Seems normal but deep down there is more to it.” She started and came down a the steps closer to us, “All four kingdoms are placed in different sections of the world, not a lot of people realize that if you look away the kingdoms are connected together, forming a cross. And in the middle is a stormy coast, yet no life lives there, and that” she backs away wagging her finger, “is where I am putting my money on, that it s located there.” She turns one last time, “but lets confirm tomorrow, now its time to sleep.”
I was not sure if it was sawn or really early morning when the sun had not awaken. But Ms. Emily was a early bird and pounded on our door loud enough I believe she could’ve awaken the whole kingdom.
“Time to wake up and start the day!” she shouted.
Wolf and I groaned but sluggish out of bed and ready ourselves for this so called big day. Who knows what it would bring yet who knows what chaos would unfold and truth would be revealed.
We all gathered together, only the five of us just outside the gates of the two pillar trees. Once we walk passed them I look back to find the kingdom we were just in look like it never existed. All now was a jungle with hidden secret. I turned back slowly bringing my attention to everyone particularly Wolf as he seemed to be smirking at me.
“What?” I automatically smiled back.
He shakes his head coming to stand in front me, “just seeing your face the way it lights up when we discover or you discover new things while other things are what we known for years. Makes me want to smile.”
I tilt my head smirking while placing hands on my hips.
“It just shows hope and wonder” he finishes off his thoughts and I shake my head to chuckle.
We continue as now the sun pieces through the leaves giving a warm to humid morning. Animals all around must be waking up as well, as the squawking of a few birds from above are loud and tending to be annoying for my taste. Little critters below are only slight shuffling the ground below but they are not as loud as our feet smashing the earth back down to the ground. Our rustling the earth becomes louder chasing creatures who were near by to ran away out of fear of us being predators.
Deep breathing brings my attention to the dragons that Emily begins to tend slowly. Waking them up from their slumber. All three still look to be in good shape as they now begin to rise from their sleep.
“You ready?” Emily shouts and soon I find her coming to stand in front of me. I nod.
“Ready as I will ever want to be.”
She returns a smile and begins to guide me through the process. “Okay, open palms facing out, breath and think of a pathway, something leading you to the center,” her voice soft as I do what she tells me while I close my eyes. I take a deep breath taking in the humid air feeling heavy but I focus.
Path please, I think allowing my mind to open and ran down began down a guideed trail that would show the way. A soft gasp leaves my lips as I am tumbling through the jungle without a scratch or smack of leaves against my face. It was clear at first but now everything beings to become fuzzy, even though I am well aware I think where I am heading, somehow just not sure anymore. My view slows hovering over some grey and I hear crashing waves. I can’t see but I take another breath and next like my vision being pulled back as if I reversing in my direction I just came. Falling back into the jungle. My eyes fly open as I now present in my own body gasping forward supporting myself crouching over as if I may hurl.
My breathing erratic trying to gain control, that was power but unknown type.
“Asema, hey,” Wolf soft voice came down below. I bring my attention to him and he crouched before looking up, analyzing seeing if I need anything. His eyes bore into mine, “Hey, breathe, nice and easy” he places his hands over mine intimidating how I should calm myself and soon enough I take his word and soon my breathing is easy.
Eventually he stands with me and I speak, “we need to do it together, say the spell, I get a cleaner picture.” I already reaching for me. He allows knowing I am rushing things.
Wolf and I joined our hands together, and he stands closer placing our foreheads together. “Remember breath, concentrate on the path and everything will be lead too us.” I remind him.
“You remember breathing” he retorts but in a way he is worried.
I speak.
Take our hands
Lead the way
To the unknown or familiarity
The words come out as mist and float around us creating that mixture to show a path where we would be lead.
Again before we were lead into oblivion, our minds become as one thrusted into darkness spiraling through the jungle, down a hill from the opening, in a valley. Down another along rolling rocks that tumbled creating loud thunderous breaks. We were opened up to a meadow of green grass, pushing by a long rocky path that lead to a sea front with a beach made of sand and stones. Lastly we were whipped around a cliff corner and stood before a cave mouth, staring into the dark abyss.
Before I could analyze it, Wolf and I were thrusted painfully back to our original stance, gritting the pain and choking now on burst of air that consumed our lungs.
I clung to Wolf as he was already trying to gain balance but couldn’t, ending up creating us both to tumble down into the ground with plants and dirt slammed in our faces. After a moment we sat up and gazed around us as three pairs of eyes were staring back at us.
“did you find it?” Emily stepped forward almost hesitant to come close to us.
“Yes” Wolf replied and rose up taking me with him and leading us to our dragon, “We will lead the way” was the last words he before People jumped out, shouting at us “Put your hands up” a mal said, his voice gruffy.
Wolf and Emily cursed under their breath “Earth goblins”
