Unknown Magic (3)

Chapter 13

Being tired was a understatement, I was full out exhausted and I was still regaining strength. Being a Immortal doesn’t mean you are all invisible just means you have heighten sense. Least with me and my heighten senses I could enjoy the forest next to the pack village but that still did not erase the many more battles that I were to come into contact with.

The lush beautiful green wrapping around the trees of moss and leaves helped in some form erase the deadly reminders of blood-soaked ground that acted as if it was mud. When I walked upon the soft moss, I reminded myself at times that this heaven and not to be sacred as I am sometimes thinking of a body I may be stepping on. I swallowed and continued my stroll through the forest. Wolf wanted to join but I declined, he was reluctant but understood I needed my own time.

A time to embrace my elements, a way to breath. But that still did not erase my fear that the battles would never end. They should have ended years ago, don’t have high population like black Immortals. SO why were there endless amounts of them to fight? That is what confused me.

I kept forward taking in the air of pine and clean air. A rarity that not much have. Yes, it was smug or had a difference of taste and smell but it was familiar and was home for me. Something I could come back to.

The sun shone down but the shade of the trees was able to keep coolness I desired.

Fear though took over, as my mind went back to the wars.

Sometimes we were lucky enough if the battles only lasted the night and could go home right after. But that was if we were lucky. Usually, we would get a warning from someone or I would get a vision. To then we would fight and next day go somewhere else nearby because the red Immortals usually split up to provide countless wars.

I closed my eyes trying to shake away the massive horrors. Opening my eyes I spotted a tree perfect enough for sitting in while being hidden. It wasn’t just Lycan that were the predators but other animals, wild animals such as panthers, bears and occasional mountain lion but those were rare,

I snuggled into the crack of the trees and gazed up at the tree tops that scattered light around me. I breathed in and my mind went back thinking about the future. Would I keep getting visions about these invaders or someone sending a message to us. I dreaded the though of this not stopping ever, worry began to take over as I thought of Junior and Alice, how would they have to keep living through this. Living and growing up in a world where there were threats everywhere, but I reminded myself they are strong kids, yes they already. Know that this is a typical life yet it hurts to know it could have been different.

I rested my head back as the roughness of the bark rested against my skin. My hair occasionally would get caught on some broken bark but would not hurt, thankfully.

Who knew battles and thinking would exhaust someone.

Since laying down I never realized how tired I was truly. My body actually felt like it was almost collapsing yet I only laid here staring up at a now partly clouded sky. The sun still beamed and every once and awhile a wood pecker would sound in the distance to slight rustling of small creatures down below. A few birds displaying a dark silhouette flew over. I smiled and closed my eyes.

Give me strength I called to my elements.

Immediately air flew into my nostrils like I could breath again, somehow I felt warmth from a sun that never shine on me but gave me some relaxation. Along with that I felt earth actually giving me kick stand to support myself a way to regrowth. And lastly somehow water gave me energy as I felt I could flow anywhere. A smile came across my lips. I began to listen to the world around me.

Birds fluttering their wings to a hummingbird swooshing it wings, felt like they were beating the life out of themselves to partner with it a giggle.

My eyes snapped open, hummingbirds don’t giggle, least not in the human world.

I peered around the branches that was littered with leaves and looked out beyond the trees, a maze of multiple sticks in the ground was all I saw. I narrowed my eyes, I was not on edge but I was cautious. I looked to the other side of me and something to nothing, but a somewhat empty forest that as filled with nature of moss, bushes and little creatures. I returned to looking forward where there were multiple branches woven together and stopped short as I stared at a little winged creature who giggled again at me. She sat on a branch in my eye level view, no bigger than a tiny mouse. Yet I could see details of her, A dress or skirt made of leaves and a top that I was not sure wrapped under her armpit or over her shoulder. But it was deep red rose petals woven covering her. Her hair pink with a hint of green as it splayed over her shoulders. She giggled again and I snapped my eyes to her tiny face. Then it dawned on me.

“You are a fairy” I stated the obvious.

She cocked her head to the side studying me as if I had no brains, then cocked her head to the other side, almost as if this was a game to her. “A earth fairy if you want the fast,” he voice sweet yet I heard some mocking in it.

I shifted my seating position, but kept my gaze on her.

“So what’s a fairy like you come to intrude a peaceful moment like this?” I said nicely to my ability.

She began to swing her feet almost as if she didn’t hear me, I opened my mouth again to repeat but she spoke.

“I felt faintness, the great strength, I followed and found you. You are only one I knew that still has great power. So…I shall bless you.”

I gave her a dumfound look, “Excuse me? A blessing?”

I then instantly remembered from Sky High, about Fairies, and their good but also bad blessings.

She nodded her head giddily, “Yup a blessing, a blessing of good fortune”

I quietly relaxed as now I remember they choose what you deserve.

She rose and before I could protest she flew up at me but twirled around me leaving behind a sparkle of gold and red dust letting git fall onto me. They distinguished before touching my legs and shoulders. It was like she went around me shaping a cone and did another twirl flaring out her individual leaf skirt.

“I bless you with good fortune a bright future, you shall feel energized.”

She now floated in the air staring at me smiling while her wings fluttered away like hummingbird wings. I just stared at her, I didn’t feel different, but same and I think she noticed that as now she gave me a confused face.

“You should be glowing,” she stated, as if it was common sense for anyone to know what would happen when a fairy blesses you.

I looked down at myself, “well obliviously I am not” I bluntly said, “maybe because apparently this world is in a unbalance it didn’t work?” I suggested.

She shook her head as if nothing made sense anymore, “No, no, the only way is” she fluttered around as if that pacing for a fairy. She topped her tiny chin mumbling under her breath but stopped turned back to me hovering only slightly up and down. Only this time really looking at me as if she was seeing someone differently.

“Only way is if your power is a source of originality, but you are just a Immortal in a Lycan world.” She flustered up searching or aimlessly looking around. Her height just above me head two feet away. “What are you in a Lycan world, it as if you have a death challenge.”

I smirked causing the fairy to flutter back to her original sitting spot.

“What is it? A Secret?”

I shook my head, “No, I don’t seek a challenge, I live in the nearest village, my husband is the Alpha.” I gazed into her tiny face.

Her mouth dropped open and light wrapped around her, I blinked. There she was almost same size as me but a bit smaller. Now I could clearly see her eyes were coloured of cotton candy, but faded pink. I am not sure it is was a mark like a Lycan or just for show but she had rose petals giving a abstract form on her temple.

I was surprised, I didn’t gasp but did have mouth open in shock to see what just happened in front of me. Everything I noticed had become silent around us as her focus was on me.

“You are the great legend and I shall give you another blessing but a fortune of words.”

I stared at her somehow oddly feeling her fear, “what do you have to offer?” I was curious this time.

“Every creature in this world, questions a shift in magic, but I may have a found a clue why, you come from a source of originality, nothing new or old, no line of lineage but short. Your power is great and not to be taken lightly.”

She rose eyeing me one last time till light wrapped around her again and she was gone while I saw there just listening to me returning noise of a forest wondering what just happened.
