Book 3: Chapter 7 (4/9)
Finwe finally sighed out of relief and landed on the ground from exhaustion. Not only did Finwe manage to drain Anwyn’s mentality down, but his mind was down as well. Devil-Kain didn't waste any time. He turned and locked Evienne’s location in his eyes. He then flew toward her quickly while casting [Carnage Inferno] spell and swung his battle-ax at her. Evienne was already too tired of repeatedly killing Imreia, but she wouldn't stand idly by allowing Kain to kill her easily.
Because [Carnage Inferno] works both ways, Evienne decided to use it to her advantage by just keeping on dodging Kain's attacks until his own [Carnage Inferno] burned him into nothingness. After dodging Kain's attacks over fifty times, she was eventually hit. The flame that was burning Kain’s body caused by [Carnage Inferno] quickly passed on to Evienne and heavily burned her but couldn't manage to kill her yet. Kain smirked then casted [Carnage Inferno] and swung his giant battle-ax at Evienne again while she was screaming in pain. Thinking that would be enough, Kain was about to stop until he realized Evienne was still alive after his second [Carnage Inferno] spell expired.
Kain thought to himself, "She is tougher than I thought. Two [Carnage Inferno] couldn't kill her. It’s a shame that she needed to die today."
Kain casted [Carnage Inferno] spell again and swung his battle-ax at Evienne and managed to cut her in half. After that, the [Carnage Inferno] spell killed Evienne and reduced her body to nothingness. If it wasn't because Kain could use Blood Magic to continuously heal him, the [Carnage Inferno] would have killed Kain after he missed attacking Evienne after five or six times before he can successfully pass that onto her.
After confirming the permanent abyss link chained between Kain and Evienne were broken, Kain laughed and said, "That's what you deserved for betraying me, stupid bitch!"
Devil-Kain quickly flew back toward the black-hair Kain’s direction, who was struggling to hold other Devils back. If it wasn't for heavily draining the blood pools of his Blood Equipment from using [Life Drain] spell to actively heal himself, black-hair Kain would have died a very long time ago the moment he transformed using [Vampiric Swarm] to fight with those powerful Devils. Black-hair Kain took that opportunity to escape and flew toward Anwyn’s corpse that was cut to tiny pieces. Landed in front of Anwyn’s corpse, black-hair Kain casted [Conjure Nemelia] to conjure an Angel Battlemage who has reached level 30 in Master-tier of Light Magic. Out of all the Saint-tier Conjuration Magic spells that Kain has created, [Conjure Nemelia] was the weakest of them all. Despite being able to scale her physical strength and magical power to match Kain's magical power, an Angel Battlemage who only reached level 30 will be very weak in battle. Even so, she can use the [Resurrection] spell which allows Kain to revive someone when needed. Unlike Demons, Angels were mostly born as Warriors and anyone could rarely encounter an Angel Battlemage while traveling to Heaven Realm using [Astral Projection].
Kain turned to look at Finwe and asked, “Can you still fly using the [Thunder Step] spell?”
Finwe nodded his head and heavily answered, “I still have some mana left.”
“Good. Bring her Magical Staff and back to the Thirteenth Gate. Explained to Kimaris about what happened and let him know that I needed him to close the portal connected to the Devils' planet. Tell Kimaris not to open the portal until I give you the signal through the temporary abyss link chained between you and me.”
“Got it.”
After seeing Finwe fly out of the castle, Kain turned his head to look at Nemelia, the Angel Battlemage that he had just conjured. Per Kain’s command, Nemelia casted [Resurrection] spell on Anwyn to revive her. Kain also instructed Nemelia to clear Anwyn’s memory for the past forty minutes, preventing her from knowing how she was killed. Anwyn opened her eyes and saw Kain was smiling at her. She quickly stood up and attempted to cast a magic spell but couldn’t.
Anwyn angrily asked, “What have you done to me? Where is the Evolved Thunder Eagle that I was fighting with?”
Kain smirked and lied, “What Evolved Thunder Eagle? You have fallen to my newly created Devil Magic spell named [Mentality]. Everything you have encountered for the past twenty hours was the effect of my [Mentality] spell.”
“Nonsense! There is no way a pathetic human like you can create such a powerful Devil Magic spell. Even if that was possible, my Magical Resistance rate is high enough to resist all mind control magic spells.”
“Aw… but I did. Your mana pool had reached depletion from fighting with yourself after falling into my [Mentality] spell. I have already canceled the spell that was to free you from continuously hurting yourself. Do you agree to be my Soul-Bound Creature? Or do you prefer to be killed over and over again until you agree?”
If Kain could defeat Anwyn then create the spell [Conjure Anwyn], he would have done so already. In the lower realms, there are powerful creatures such as Archangels and Devils who can’t turn into conjurable creatures. That was why Kain spent so much time and energy into either persuading or forcing Anwyn Richir to be his new Soul-Bound Creature.
Anwyn smiled and warmly asked, “Explain to me why I would agree to be your Soul-Bound Creature? What are my benefits?”
Kain smirked and called out her bullshit, “I know you are trying to create some time for your Magical Staff to come back to you. I have already known that Magical Staff was your Soul-Bound Weapon and I have one of my conjured creatures to send it to the Thirteenth Gate. I have also Kimaris to close the portal connected to the Devils' planet. There is no way your Magical Staff can come back to the Devils’ planet without my permission.”
“What? How dare Kimaris betrayed me? I am the Devil Overlord. He is my servant!”
“You killed the love of his life and he had to transform her into a Soul Weapon to keep her soul alive. Have you ever thought about the consequences? Just because you are strong against Kimaris, doesn’t mean that he will forever obey your commands. Now, do you agree to be my Soul-Bound Creature?”
"The love of his life... Did you mean the Earth Mage named Ursula?" contemporary romance
"Correct."
"Kimaris! You dared betray me because I have killed your human toy!" Anwyn angrily yelled at Kimaris despite him not being there to hear it.
"Damn girl, keep your voice down. So, what do you say? Wanna be my companion?"
“I won’t agree to be bound to your Conjurer Soul. I don’t care how many times you kill me, my answer will always be no.”
“Very well, I respected your irrational decision and will grant you painful deaths over and over until you agree.”
