The Unwanted Luna

Chapter 41

Hades had been right and the day he had hinted at me had turned out to be the correct date. We were preparing for battle a week after he had come seeking me out. Patrols had said that they had spotted Agron and his minion in the clearing where we had caught Brian trying to escape with Tristan.

Tristan and all the other kids plus women who couldn't fight, teenagers, and the old were all on lock down in the panic rooms that were underground. Sophie was also sighting this fight out since she was pregnant.

To our surprise most packs had come out helping which is something we were grateful for since we hadn't expected the turn out to be that big but like I had said we wouldn't be taking that for granted at all. Maybe with their support we had a chance of winning. Things have been tense this past few weeks, not only because of the upcoming war but also concerning Bianca and Nolan and also between Xavier and me.

Bianca woke up a bit shaken but okay none the less and when Nolan came to help us with our battle plans she thanked him for saving her but he only replied that he only did it for my sake and nothing else and she shouldn't expect them to live as mates since he wants nothing to do with her.

He walked away after that without looking back at her. I saw the heart broken look in her face before she quickly hid it.

I guess she was now starting to get how I used to feel. For her, the bond was real and very much working and I bet she was already starting to feel its tug but for Nolan it wasn't like that.

He was a god and he could choose to ignore it. Now she knew how I felt when Xavier used to ignore our bond, luckily for her she would never have to feel it when he is with another woman.

I haven't talked with Xavier since that night. I just can't after knowing yet again I've lost. I wish that he had been strong enough to mark Bianca. Losing him wouldn't hurt as much as losing Nolan did.

My relationship with Bianca had also changed in the past week. We weren't as close as we were when we were younger and we probably never would be but at least I was more engaging than I had been before and given all that she had done, I would say that was progress on my part. "Everything's set my queen"

I was drawn from my thoughts by one of the warriors. Like I said we needed all the help we could get and luckily for me I had the best people or in this case creatures in my kingdom because they were all willing to help with the exception of the elderly, pregnant women, children and those who simply couldn't fight.

I scan everyone gathered hoping and praying that we will come back victorious and that we won't lose people today.

Nolan and Selene weren't here since they were pure deities meaning they didn't have to ascend from human to deity like I did and so that prevented them from interfering, same applied to Hades and all the rest. But we had Eden on our side. She was the earth goddess and like me she was human before she ascended.

Her support come as an unexpected surprise given that among all the deities she would have been the one to hate the world more as she was the one that had been kidnapped and raped by Alpha Ryder and his men.

Plus there was the fact that no one had heard about her since she was raped so it come as a surprise when this beautiful woman who smelled like flowers and had a sing song voice appeared in the middle of Xavier's office while we planning. To be honest I was shocked she wanted to help since I wouldn't have blamed her if she had been in support of watching the world crash and burn given what was done to her but she was the classic example of not letting the past define you. She was truly a lovely woman and we had formed a bond that I know would last for centuries if we survived this war. She had also taken to Tristan and Freya and they had done the same, happy that they had another goddess aunt. "Let's roll out, meet them before they have a chance to organize a surprise attack" I shouted and then turned to leave with Xavier, Bianca and Eden by my side.

It didn't take long before we were facing off with Agron. The bastard had a smug smiling, flashing his pearly white teeth as if he has already won

"Where is my boy Amelia?" he asked in that condescending tone that usually grates on my nerves.

"First of all he is not your boy and second of all it will be a cold day in hell if I ever let you anywhere near my son" I growled.

I could feel Onyx and my goddess state fighting for dominance. Both sides knew the threat to our son but they were both dominant bitches which made it a problem because they couldn't work together. Either one took over while the other slept. I needed both of them so I begged them to work together this once because we couldn't be divided now more than ever.

They finally agreed and I could feel their power thrumming through my veins. Power like I have never felt before.

"I see you have decided to go the hard way, let me just tell you little girl, by the end of today I will have your corpse before me and your son in my hands" he said just as he changed into his god state signaling the start of the fight.

I tore through the field, leaving the undead and forsaken in my wake. To me they were insignificant because my focus was on Agron.

He was the master and if I could take him down, the undead would be, well, dead and the forsaken would probably flee, that is if we didn't kill them before they could.

Agron and I clashed, our auras almost sending everyone to their knees and tearing the earth open.

There was a reason why deities didn't fight against each and this was one of the consequences. Two powerful entities fighting could literally split the earth into two. "Give up now Amelia, and maybe I will spare you...you are fighting a losing battle"

I didn't bother to reply because why would I? We both knew I would fight to my dying breath if that was what I took to keep the asshole from getting Tristan.

Since we had Eden on our side, she mended the tear that had appeared when Agron and I clashed but the same couldn't be said for the trees that had been unearthed.

We kept fighting, none of us landing a definite blow on each other that was until I saw Alpha Ryder.

I searched for Eden concerned for her given what he and his pack did. I know it has been years but I am also sure that is not something you ever got over.

I was worried about what it would do to her seeing Ryder and his men again after all these years and that gave Agron the chance to land a blow that sent me flying and ultimately crashing into a tree.

Within minutes Xavier was there lifting me up, not that I needed any help but it was the gesture that counted.

He was naked and usually I would be distracted by all that male glory but the destruction we were causing caught my attention.

The trees had been uprooted and there were a couple of tears on the ground. The grass had been scorched and was now black instead of its former plush green.

The sky was a mixture of red and black and the moon was blood red. There was thunder and lightning everywhere, the wind blew strongly.

I needed to end this before we destroyed the world as it was but first I needed to save the packs.

The ground was running with blood and most of the bodies that were scattered belonged to the wolves.

The reason I was asked to stay behind was not only so I could protect Tristan but also the packs, and that's what I planned to do.
