Hendrix didn't respond. He simply let go of Erwin's collar and strode forward.
Erwin, however, quickly caught up. "Alright, now. Let's drop it. Now, where am I staying? Your place?" "The hotel," Hendrix replied expressionlessly.
Erwin shrugged nonchalantly.
Hendrix had other matters to attend to and didn't bother sending him to the hotel.
But just as he was about to get into another car, Erwin's voice rang out behind him, "By the way, Noelle knows I landed today. She even offered to host a little welcome dinner for me. You'll also be there, won't you?"
Hendrix turned to look at him.
Erwin smiled and said, "No worries. If you're not coming, we can always have dinner alone."
There was no way Hendrix wasn't going. The moment he stepped into the private dining room, he went straight to Noelle to settle the score with her.
"Didn't you say you wouldn't meet him alone? What do you call this?"
Noelle was stunned. "Wasn't it you who agreed to this first? He said you were the one inviting him to dinner, so that's why I came."
Hendrix frowned. It was only then that he realized that he'd been played by Erwin.
Erwin didn't keep them waiting long. A moment later, he stepped inside.
He had changed into a crisp white suit, even taking the time to properly fasten his tie, looking as if he were attending some formal banquet. With his striking good looks, he resembled a prince straight out of an oil painting
Even the waitress taking their order couldn't help but steal a few extra glances at him.
In public, Erwin always maintained a poised and graceful demeanor. Even though Noelle could see the flicker of disdain in his eyes, his lips still carried a polite smile-so effortlessly charming that it felt like the waitress was blushing a deep shade of red.
Once the waitress left, Erwin turned to Noelle. "Mrs. Freeman, is this really how you host a guest? What kind of place is this?"
"This is how things are here. If you don't like it, you can always go back to Mondivera," Hendrix cut in. Erwin raised an eyebrow, then he laughed. "No worries. I think I can put up with it."
Hendrix said nothing in response.
Erwin didn't push further. Instead, he smoothly shifted the topic to Mondivera's stock market.
Their conversation moved at a rapid pace, filled with countless financial jargons that went right over Noelle's
head.
After sitting for a while, she got up and headed to the restroom.
When she stepped out after washing her hands, she was startled to find Erwin already waiting outside for God knew how long.

A cigarette rested between his fingers.
Noelle frowned and instinctively took a step back.
Seeing this, Erwin chuckled and asked, "Are you afraid of me?"
Noelle's gaze landed on the cigarette between his fingers. I'm pregnant."
Her revelation made Erwin freeze for a split second. Then, He let out a laugh.
"That explains it. I was wondering why Hendrix suddenly quit smoking. So, what am I supposed to say Congratulations?"
Congratulations?"
now?
Noelle didn't respond.
"Do you actually want this child?" Erwin continued to ask. That doesn't seem like you. If I remember correctly, weren't you planning to leave Hendrix? And based on your traditional values, having a child would only make that harder for you.
"Besides, I can tell-Hendrix is deeply insecure when it comes to you right now. Which means-" "Mr. Lawson, are you genuinely trying to help me?" Noelle suddenly cut in.
