Chapter 8: I Want A Real Love
“Let’s not. I don’t want to bother you.” Elsa put her arms around Stan and kissed him. “Besides, I’m tired of this too. I want to try something different?”
“What do you mean by that?”
Elsa leaned in closer, her breath fanning across Stan’s face. “I don’t want to be tied down to you anymore, Mr. Laurier. I want to experience a real, open love.”
Stan pulled her away by the back of her neck, half–smiling. “Like you did with that movie star?”
Elsa froze. So Morton had seen Ryan Hyde in her dressing room, and he’d told Stan.
But it would take more than that to get under her skin. Elsa recovered instantly, smiling alluringly up at Stan. “I still need a job, you know. I don’t want to get ripped apart by Ryan’s fans.
“But I do have a lot of men interested in me. I may not find love, but I can still choose whoever I want…”
Before she could finish, Stan kissed her, shoving her back down into the bed. They continued this back–and–forth until morning.

Elsa was soaking in the bathtub, looking over the bruises left on her skin, and internally she cursed Stan for making things so difficult. Then she heard footsteps entering, and the annoyance was replaced with a sweet smile.
Stan had already changed into a suit and was adjusting his cufflinks, glancing down at her in the tub as he spoke. “You’re sure you don’t want to renew the contract?”
“Very.” Elsa bit her lip. “You can’t give me what I want, Mr. Laurin
When she’d met him in that horrible moment of her life, getting money from him had been good enough. Now, she knew he wasn’t someone she should mess with–if she was put in a position where she had no fame and no money this time, there was no getting out of it again.
Stan looked at her with interest. A moment later, his phone rang, and he glanced at it, taking his eyes off of Elsa. “What’s up?”
His voice faded away as he left the bathroom, closing the door behind him. Elsa felt the irritation bubbling up again, figuring that the call must’ve been from Stan’s other sweetheart.
She got out of the bathtub and into the shower and washed herself down again.

She’d been with Stan for a year. She understood his temperament thoroughly by now. If she brought up the situation, he’d just brush it off and leave, and it wasn’t worth it to try and sway his interests after he’d found someone else.
Elsa packed her things and headed to the studio. On her way there, she contacted a moving company.
This was Stan’s apartment. He’d lived in it for a year, and Elsa had grown tired of seeing it. Her plan was to move out after the relationship ended–and besides, that new villa he’d gifted her made for good insurance.
Elsa announced to Cherry that she was planning to live with her, and Cherry gave her a blank stare when she heard that Elsa and Stan were really and truly done, but there wasn’t much else to say. Morton stopped by a few days later to deliver two documents to Elsa–one regarding shares of the Lauriers‘ newly acquired gaming company, the other regarding a custom pink Pagani.
Cherry couldn’t stay silent any longer once she saw the papers and gasped. “A game company? That’s nothing, really. The growth of that company hasn’t been great recently. But the car? This is worth millions, and you can’t just buy one of these on the market.”
Elsa punched her in the arm. “What’s that look for? He’s rich, you know. He doesn’t care about the prices of gifts like these.”
“But there’s something you don’t know,” Cherry said teasingly.
