The Return

Izzy's POV

I woke up to a loud banging on my door, I groaned and stood up, walking tiredly to the door. I opened it up and saw it was Beau.

"Get dressed our guests will be here in twenty minutes." He grumbles and walks away. Why did he come to tell me this? I shrug and shut my door closed, I walk to my small bathroom and strip off my old clothes.

I step in the shower and turn on the cold water, last time I used hot water I was whipped by the Alpha. I shudder as I remember that awful memory.

I quickly finish up getting dressed and run up to the kitchen, where I'm sure I'll have a job to do. When I enter I see Alpha Warrick and Beau sitting by the table.

"Morning Alpha Warrick, Alpha Beau." I say politely and walk to the fridge, ready to prepare breakfast for them and the pack.

They don't greet back, which isn't surprising. Once I'm done making the breakfast I place it infront of them and stand to the side, waiting patiently for them to finish.

As they eat I become hungry, what makes it worse is that my stomach growls loudly. They stop eating and turn to me. "I-I'm s-sorry A-Alphas." I stutter out and become terrified as I see Alpha Warrick stand up and walk towards me.

I cower away into the corner, afraid what he'll do to me. "One pancake, thats all." He says then walks past me. I stand there shocked. He didn't hit me? Why?

"Hurry up or I'll just eat it." I hear Beau say from behind me. I look at the table and see one more pancake left on Alpha Warrick's plate. I smile internally and shuffle over to the table.

I go to take the plate but Beau stops me. "You eat here." He says and continues to eat his food. I nod my head and sit down. I take the knife and fork into my grasp and slowly begin to cut the food.

I place the small piece into my mouth, wearily might I add. What is going on with them? "A-Alpha Beau?" I stutter out, hoping he won't get mad that I'm addressing him.

"What?" He snaps looking up at me with a glare but the glare quickly disappears. "What is it Izzy?"

I stiffen as he uses the nickname he gave me when we were younger.

"W-Why are y-you b-being so n-nice to me?" I ask him while taking another small bite. He doesn't reply, only glares at his plate. "It's none of your concern."

"B-But-"

"I said it's none of your concern!" He yells and throws his plate against the wall. He stands up and grabs me by my neck. He picks me up, making my feet dangle as I try desperately to breath.

"Beau! Put her down!" I hear the Alpha yell. Beau immediately drops me making me land on my ankle. I cry out as I feel pain surge through my leg.

"You idiot!" I hear Alpha and Beau yell at each other but I don't listen for long because I pass out immediately from fear.

I groan as my eyes flutter open. How long have I been asleep? "Finally, you're up." I hear someone say from across me. I look around me and see I'm in one of the pack cells. I try to stand up but fall because of my ankle.

I look up at the voice and see it's Beau. "What am I doing here?" I ask him, as I see I was laying on a broken mattress. "Well our former plan didn't work so you'll stay here until our guests leave."

What!

"W-What do you mean your former plan? W-Why do you have to leave me here? Beau, please-"

"Don't you ever call me by my name again. Now, our former plan was to be nice to you, so you wouldn't blabber to our guests about us but that failed when I made that mark on your neck and when you sprained your ankle. So now we'll just keep you here until they're gone." He says nonchalantly.

"P-Please don't-"

He's gone. I curl up into a ball and try to hold back my tears. If only I hadn't asked so many questions.

I lay down and close my eyes, as I pray to the Moon Goddess for help.

Flashback

"Hey Izzy!" Beau greets me as I walk down the stairs. "Hey Beau, have you seen my parent's perhaps?" I ask him as he falls into step with me.

We walk out the pack house and see the pups running around. "I saw them walking into the woods a few minutes ago. You know they love their daily walks." He says smiling happily as one of the pups try to attack him, playfully.

"Okay." I say and we go to play with the pups.

After playing with the pups for an hour we go for our daily training session. I see Alpha Warrick, Beau's dad step up in front of us and order us to partner up. As usual me and Beau are each others partners. Well it's beneficial that the future Alpha and Beta are good at fighting each other's stengths.

"Ready to be taken down?" He mocks me as we get into fighting stance. We're not sixteen yet, so we can't change into our wolves. "Are you ready to be taken down by a girl?" I ask him smugly. We hear the whistle and lunge at each other.

"Alright, training session is over. You're all dismissed. Beau, Izzy, a word please." Alpha Warrick speaks and walks into the pack house. We follow behind him silently as we walk to his private office.

He closes the door behind us and tells us to sit. "Izzy, have you tried to speak with your parents? We can't seem to reach them." He asks worriedly. My eyes widen in shock.

"Mom? Dad? Are you guys there?" I ask through the pack link. No reply. "Mom! Dad! Please, answer me!" Nothing.

"I can't get them to answer me. What's happened? Where are they? What-"

"Izzy, calm down. We've already sent our best trackers to search for them." Alpha Warrick says as he places his hands on my shoulders and looks down at me. "We'll find them." He whispers and walks out the room, leaving me and Beau alone.

I sit down next to him and just stare at the wall. "Izzy, it's going to be okay. You're parents are strong, intelligent people. We'll find them." Beau says as he wraps his arms around me, trying to bring me comfort.

"I hope so."
