Chapter 7
Theo/Gage's POV
"Theo? Theo, wake up." We hear someone whisper softly to us. We groan and turn over. "It's too early to wake up." We grumble but yelp as we feel a pinch on our side. We may have experienced a lot of pain during our lives but it still hurts.
We turn over and face a smiling mother. "Come on lazy ass. We're stopping for breakfast." She says as she climbs out the car herself. We sit up, yawning as we stretch. We look out the front window and see Mom and Dad hugging each other.
I hear Gage whimper in our head. "It's gonna be okay, Gage. Just because we're a Rejected does not mean we can't find love. And this time we know the person will fall for us, not just because a bond made them in the beginning." I say to him, trying to cheer him up. I know it's not working but it's the best I got.
"Theo why don't we try and tell them?Maybe they could help? I don't want to hurt them Theo, I can't do it." He says as we continue too stare at our parents. "Gage...I-I honestly don't know what to do? I say we try and tell them. It's worth a shot. Only thing I'm worried about is that they'll never forgive us. We just got them back Gage, I don't want too lose them again." I say sadly as we climb out the car.
They walk into the restaurant, holding hands, acting like young lovers. "Doesn't matter Theo. We need to tell them. They'll be able to do something, I'm sure of it." He says as we walk in and go sit down with them.
The guards stand outside keeping watch. We roll our eyes, seeing how easily it is to get past them. "All of them have obvious blindspots." We grumble to ourselves.
"Pardon Theo?" Dad asks looking over at us. We stiffen as we realize we said that out loud. "Um...I-I meant that-"
"You see it too right?" He asks with a smile, we breath out a sigh of relief as he smiles happily at us. We only nod our head, not entirely sure he's talking about the guards. You just never know.
"See that one over there by the car? Easy shot from the roof or a silent attack from the back." Dad says and goes on at explaining how all of the guards could be take down. We smile happily as we have this conversation with him, and mom, surprisingly. It makes us feel normal, that we're not entirely foreign to their world. If only that were true.
"Mom, Dad, I need to tell you something." We say to them, feeling nervous. There's either two ways that this could happen, either they help us get rid of this medallion and forgive us or they could hate us and kill us. We hope it's not the latter.
"What is it son?" Dad asks as he takes a bite of his bacon. "Well you see, I have to tell you guys that um... I'm glad Uncle Steven told me about you." We say to them.
"Gage! What the hell? I thought we were going to tell them the truth?"
"I thought you said that? I didn't say it. Wait is that...?" He says as he looks out the window.
She's there.
She smirks at us and zips her lips closed. "She used a spell on us, to make sure we don't tell them the truth about our reasons being here!" I yell in our head as we glare in her direction. She disappears and we suddenly hear our Mother's voice.
"Theo! We've been calling you for over 5 minutes now. What did you mean earlier?" She asks us questioningly. "Huh? What do you mean?" We ask distractedly, as we try to see if we can see her anymore. She's gone.
"You talked about Steven telling you about us? What did you mean about that?" We look at her and have a grief stricken face. "I guess I should tell you how my life was before I came here."
"I thought I was their real son. They never told me I was a werewolf. I knew they were vampires but I always thought I was a late vampire. When my 16th birthday came along, I turned into my wolf, Gage. They told me about you guys. They told me how you didn't want to leave me. They even told me about Uncle Parker."
"I loved living with them. They treated me like I was their son, brother. I had a perfect life and it became more perfect when I met you guys." Okay, we weren't fully lying when we told them that. Sure our lives first went downhill after Uncle Steven died but it sort of became perfect when we met our family.
"Though I just have one question Mom?" We turn to her, looking her up and down, examining her. "Yes, Sweety?" She asks, seeming interested in what we have to say.
"When you were kidnapped, when they took me out of you, when you were fighting, and when Uncle Parker died. Why didn't you use your powers?" We ask her, always wanting to know the reason.
She sighs and smiles sadly. "Wolfsbane. They had injected me with wolfsbane when I was knocked out. When they took you out I couldn't use any of my powers. When it was the war, that was the night of the Blood Moon. I was stronger so I could over power some of the Wolfsbane but it didn't give me access to most of my powers. Thats why I couldn't use my powers at all. Thats why...I couldn't save Parker." She says as a tear falls down her beautiful face.
"Mom, I'm so sorry. I didn't mean to make you upset." We say to her as we grab her hand and kiss her knuckles. She chuckles which in turn makes us and father smile.
"Thank you for telling us Theo."
"Thank you too Mom."
"Well I enjoyed that breakfast. So shall we hit the road again?" Dad asks standing up and walking over to the payment stand. "I don't know why he asks us, when he's just going to get up and go pay anyways." Mom sighs making us laugh.
We shake out head and walk back to the car. We climb in and the trip continues.
We're happy we told them how we lived in the beginning. We're also happy that we know the truth about our past.
"We have to do something, to stop them Gage."
"We'll think of something Theo. Don't worry, nothing is going to happen to our family. Not on our watch."
