Chapter 81
Chapter 81
Their eyes met, and Alexandra’s ears turned hot.
Her gaze flickered as she chuckled at him and lowered her head to drink the soup.
Julian lowered his gaze and continued eating. For some reason, there was a warm feeling in his heart.
The comers of his lips curled up slightly
After dinner, Alexandra hopped away while Julian went to clean up the dishes.
She did not want Julian to carry her and trouble him.
Julian realized that she was gone when he came out of the kitchen.
He reached the door of the bedroom and found it ajar.
Julian knocked on the door, then walked in after getting a response.
Alexandra was kneeling on one knee on the bed looking for clothes. She said shyly when she saw him enter, “Mr. Ranford, I have to use your bathroom. I want to take a shower.”
Julian glanced at the bathroom. He was thinking about how she could shower alone since she had injured her leg
Before he could finish this thought, he suddenly realized that his throat was a little dry.
Feeling inexplicably awkward, he coughed lightly. “Alright, use the bathtub. I’ll fill the tub for you.”
“There’s no need, Mr. Ranford. I’ll…”
Before Alexandra could refuse, Julian had already walked into the bathroom.
Alexandra pursed her lips and continued to pack her clothes.
Julian walked out of the bathroom and said to her, “You’ll still be sleeping here tonight.”
Alexandra raised her starry eyes and asked him with her head tilted, “Mr. Ranford, are you going back to the old residence?”
Julian said, “No.”
He thought, “How will she cope living here alone if I returned to the old residence?”
Alexandra replied, “Oh.”
Then she said, “So where are you going to sleep?”
Julian thought about how he had taken advantage of her deep sleep last night to lie down to sleep beside her. He felt a little guilty.
He said, “There’s another room. I’ll sleep in the other room.”
“Oh.” Alexandra did not think of anything else. She asked again, “Mr. Ranford, do I still have to go to school tomorrow?”
“How will you go to school? Hop there?” Julian rolled his eyes at her.
Alexandra said, “So I don’t have to go?”
“I’ve already informed them of your absence. You can rest this week to recuperate from your ankle injury. Next week is the national day holiday. You can go again after school starts.”
“Huh?”
Alexandra counted with her fingers. That meant she had to rest for half a month?
Julian raised his brow as he thought, “Why does she look so unwilling? She doesn’t like holidays?”
Alexandra stretched out ten fingers and said pitifully, “Mr. Ranford, then… Can my leg injury be considered a work injury?”
Julian was confused.
“You’re the one who gave me time off. Is it paid time off?”
Julian was speechless.
He really had to hand it to her.
It was always about money.
He wondered how poor she had been in the past!
Alexandra was really depressed. Wouldn’t half of her monthly salary be gone if she took half a month off? That was 120,000 dollars!
Julian did not know what to do with her. He rubbed his temples and said, “It’s considered a work injury. It’ll be paid leave.”

“Thank you, Mr. Ranford! You’re the most generous, handsome, and loving boss in the world!” Alexandra immediately felt revived.
Julian could not help but smile and sigh when he saw her sincere joy.
He thought, “Sigh!
“What an annoying money grubber!”
Alexandra had a good night’s sleep.
She slept until late in the morning the next day. The entire room was filled with sunlight when she opened her eyes.
Satisfied, she stretched.
There was a message from Emery on her phone asking her why she did not go to school..
Alexandra did not want to lie to Emery. Good friends should not lie to each other.
However, she could not tell Emery that she was with Julian, nor could she tell Emery what she had experienced in the past two days.
It was too troublesome to explain, not to mention that now was not the time.
Emery would worry if she told her that she was injured.
Hence, she could only tell Emery, “I have something on at home. I’ll go back to school after the national day holidays. Don’t miss me too much! Love you, Emery!”
Emery’s reply came immediately. It was as if she had been waiting for her response.
“All right, be careful. Remember to let me know if you need anything.”
“Sure, sure!”
Alexandra got out of bed happily after chatting with Emery for a while.
She still could not move her ankle, and it was visibly red.
After changing her clothes, she pushed open the door and hopped a few times to the living room.
She smelled a fragrance as soon as she arrived in the living room.
Alexandra’s nose was sharp. She turned around and saw that breakfast was already on the dining table.
Julian should have already gone to the company.
Alexandra did not see anyone.
Just as she was feeling puzzled, footsteps came from the stairs on the second floor. Alexandra looked up. Julian was wearing a dark blue striped shirt today and was on the phone.
When he saw her, he paused for a moment before walking down nonchalantly.
After hanging up, he strode over. It was already ten in the morning. She really could sleep.
Today was Monday. Alexandra frowned and asked, “Mr. Ranford, why aren’t you at work?”
Julian walked over with one hand in his pocket and sized her up.
He did not answer her question. “Eat first. I’ll take you to the hospital to change your dressing later.”
“Okay. But why didn’t you go to work?”
“Do you want me to be away that badly?”
“No… L
As they were talking, Carson called. Julian glanced at Alexandra’s blushing face and went to the side to answer the call.
While he was on the phone, Alexandra quickly hopped to the dining room.
She was so afraid that Julian would carry her again.
There was only a set of bowls and chopsticks on the table. It seemed that Julian had already eaten.
Alexandra had a good meal.
She had just finished eating when the doorbell rang
Julian went to open the door. It was Frank.
Frank was dressed a litle more formally today, in a black shirt and pants.
He also brought something with him, a foldable wheelchair.
Julian had called him last night and asked him to send a wheelchair over this morning.

At that time, Frank was determined to fight with Marco. He said to him, “Mr. Ranford, the hospital wheelchairs are all sold out.”
Unexpectedly, Julian only snorted softly. “Those who stay around incompetent people will be incompetent. You and Marco can go to the mountains to help my father dig herbs if I don’t see the wheelchair tomorrow morning!”
Frank could only obey and scold Marco in his heart.
Alexandra looked at the light pink wheelchair in front of her and was speechless.
She sighed to herself, “They’re acting as if I’m an old person.”
Frank brought the foldable wheelchair in and installed it quickly.
Then, he stood up and said to Julian, “Mr. Ranford, it’s done.”
“Yeah.””
Julian said to Alexandra, “Try sitting on it.”
“Huh?”
Alexandra expressed that she did not want to sit in a wheelchair.
She was so young, like a flower. Why should she sit in a wheelchair?
However, how could Alexandra disobey since the boss had spoken?
She held the armrest of the wheelchair and sat on it. She thought, “All right, it’s even motorized.”
Alexandra had nothing left to live for.
Fortunately, she no longer had to worry about Julian carrying her at all times.
Then, they went to Mount Victoria Hospital.
