The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 79

Chapter 79

Frank also said, “It does look good.”

Alexandra picked up the piece of meat. She did not know whether to eat it or not.

She blushed.

Julian’s melancholic voice rang out again. “Get lost if you two don’t want to eat.”

Julian had to go to the company after dinner.

He was a little worried about Alexandra and wanted to call a maid over from the old residence. However, he was afraid of alerting Josephine.

He was even more worried about leaving Marco or Frank here to take care of her.

Alexandra seemed to sense what Julian was thinking. She sat on the sofa and said to Julian, “Mr. Ranford, please go ahead. Don’t worry about me. I’ll rest well. There’s food here when I’m hungry.”

Julian nodded. Before he left, he said to her, “Go rest on the bed if you’re tired, I’ll come back early tonight.”

“Yeah.”

After leaving the house, Julian got into the car and went first to Mount Victoria Hospital.

Jacob had already been placed in a ward.

He had received a thorough examination all morning.

Frank said, “Mr. Ranford, we’ve stationed people here to ensure Jacob Cameron’s safety.”

“All right.”

Marco did not know what was going on, so he asked, “Isn’t Jacob a lunatic? Why did you bring him back? Does he know where Ace Fulton is?”

Of course, no one paid attention to Marco.

Julian continued to say to Frank, “Jacob’s family has also sent people to protect him. Jacob also lost his mind in an accident at the same time that Ace disappeared. There might be something fishy going on.”

“Understood, Mr. Ranford.”

Finally, Julian and Marco left Frank in the hospital and went to the company.

There were some things that needed to be dealt with in the company as Julian had not been at work for two days.

The meeting alone took over an hour.

After the meeting, he returned to the CEO’s office to deal with another pile of documents.

Between breaks for coffee, he called Marco into his office.

Marco thought that Julian had instructions for him. However, Julian merely drank his coffee slowly, leaving him waiting a long time./

Then, he put down his coffee, causing Marco to feel uneasy.

Julian picked up a document and said to him casually, “You have her WhatsApp contact, right?”

“Huh?” Marco did not react for a moment. However, he immediately understood what Julian was getting at the next moment.

He thought, “He’s worried that Alexandra would be alone at home!”

He took out his phone and opened the WhatsApp interface. He then opened his chat history with Alexandra and handed his phone to Julian. “Mr. Ranford!”

While signing a document, Julian glanced at the WhatsApp chat interface “Mrs.. Ranford“. He paused what he was doing.

“Can this Marco be any more cunning?” he thought

He deliberately did not immediately grab the phone. Instead, he continued with the document. “Ask her if she needs anything while at home alone.”

Marco knew Julian was only asking him to do that as he was afraid of embarrassing himself by chatting with Alexandra on his WhatsApp account.

Hence, he put down his phone. “Mr. Ranford, you can ask her whatever you want. Just delete the records after the conversation. I’m not going to read your conversation.”

Julian was speechless.

In the end, he took Marco’s phone and sent Alexandra a WhatsApp message in Marco’s style. “Mrs.. Ranford, are you hungry? Are you all right at home

alone?”

Julian looked at the screen after sending the message.

Alexandra replied a few seconds later, “Marco, I’m fine. I have snacks at home, so I won’t starve.”

Just as he was about to continue replying. Alexandra’s message came again. “What is Mr. Ranford busy with?”

“He’s in his office working on some documents. Is there anything you need from him?”

“Oh, no. I was just asking.”

“He’ll be back soon. He’s almost done.”

“Oh.

Then, Alexandra stopped replying.

He waited for a minute, but there was no reply.

Julian deleted the chat history and handed the phone to Marco.

Then, he pretended that nothing had happened and continued to approve the contract.

The comers of Marco’s mouth twitched. He took his phone back and tapped on the screen a few times.

Then, Julian’s phone rang.

He opened WhatsApp and saw that Marco had given him Alexandra’s contact.

Julian was speechless.

Marco said kindly, “You have been taking care of Ms. Doherty so hard these past few days. She must be very touched and not angry with you anymore. Mr. Ranford, hurry up and make up for it. Let all the unhappiness between you and Ms. Doherty pass!”

Julian was unmoved and put down his phone.

Marco did not know what to say.

His CEO was stubborn as a mule!

Marco realized that Julian, who had always been a workaholic, had actually gotten off work twenty minutes early today.

Marco did not need to ask. He knew that Julian was just concerned about Alexandra.

After Julian leht, Marco sent Frank a WhatsApp message.

“Mr. Ranford left work early today!”

“Rare.”

“I’ll bet a million dollars that Mr. Ranford has fallen in love with Ms. Doherty!”

“Marco, delete the previous message.”

“Why?” Marco asked while recalling the previous message.

Frank then sent a message. “I’ll bet a million bucks that Mr. Ranford is in love with Ms. Doherty!”

“Fuck! Frank, you tricked me!”

“I’ve taken a screenshot.”

Marco blocked Frank..

The sky had not turned dark yet when Julian returned to Tropical Lagoon Residences.

He saw Alexandra sitting on the sofa in a daze the moment he entered.

Alexandra snapped back to her senses when she heard someone enter the house. She was a little surprised to see Julian get off work so early.

In the past, in the old residence, Julian would only reach home after six or seven at the earliest.

It was only a little past five o’clock.

Julian changed his shoes and walked over. He removed his dark blue striped suit jacket and draped it on his left arm.

“Mr. Ranford, you’re off work so early today?”

“Yeah, there’s nothing much to do at the company today”

“Oh.”

Alexandra did not know what to say. This seemed to be the first time the two of them had met alone since they returned from Sheffield,

Although only two or three days had passed since the night of the welcoming party, it felt like a year to Alexandra.

There had been a faint sense of disappointment lingering in her mind ever since she returned to Highclere City.

Although they had not known each other for long, she had already trusted and cared about him so much. However, to him, she was just a chess piece to deal with his grandmother’s urge for him to get married.  Sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ ꜰindNʘvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Her status was incomparable to Marco and Frank.

And she was always causing trouble for him.

Alexandra felt very sad at that thought.

Julian did not know what she was thinking. He stood in front of her and asked, “What do you want for dinner?”

“Huh?” Alexandra raised her head. She thought, “He won’t have returned so early just because he’s afraid that I have nothing to eat when I’m hungry,

right?”

“How is that possible?” Alexandra laughed to herself.

Julian looked at her.

Alexandra said obediently, “I’ll order takeout. I don’t mind anything.”

“I don’t want takeout.”

“But… Mr. Ranford, I don’t know how to cook.” Alexandra thought that Julian wanted her to cook. After all, it was reasonable for an employee to cook

for her boss.

“I didn’t ask you to cook. I’m asking you what you want to eat.”

Alexandra looked at him curiously and blinked. “Mr. Ranford, are you going to…”

“Yeah, I’ll cook. What do you want to eat?” Julian’s tone was low and gentle.

Alexandra was a little confused.
