The Omnipotent Mrs. Ranford By Darlene Wright

Chapter 37

Chapter 37

His cold and deep voice instantly turned the temperature in the office a few degrees colder.

Alexandra saw Julian walking over in the night. Her beautiful eyes were instantly filled with confusion and embarrassment.

She had wanted to deal with this matter silently in her own way, but it didn’t occur to her that he still came.

Julian stared at her and walked over step by step. He was furious.

He was angry at her for being spineless.

“Mr. Ranford… why are you here?” Alexandra lowered her head guiltily.

Julian walked over and his gaze landed on Alexandra’s face. He pursed his lips and asked her, “Why am I here? I wanted to ask you, why are you here?”

Alexandra lowered her head and pouted. “I’ve already told Mr. McFadden. Mr. Ranford, don’t worry about it.”

Colin’s smile froze on his face. “Mr. Ranford, you came at the right time. Alexandra wants to announce the results and accept the results of the test. I know that this is our school’s mistake. Mr. Ranford, I hope you can understand that University of Highclere’s integrity cannot be destroyed.”

“Integrity?” Julian shifted his gaze to Colin’s face as if he had heard a big joke. He took a step forward and shielded Alexandra behind him. “Mr. McFadden, the so–called integrity is that after agreeing to let Alexandra take the entrance test, you gave her the wrong test paper and even made her the target of public criticism on the school’s website, making her lose her dignity?”

Alexandra suddenly looked up. Julian’s back was in front of her.

His tone was loud, and every word was clear.

This was the first time she had seen Julian get angry.

Even though it was not directed at her, Alexandra still felt a chill down her spine.

Alexandra did not want him to be like this.

Why did he have to fall out with Mr. McFadden for her?

Alexandra reached out and gently tugged at his sleeve. “Mr. Ranford, don’t…”

At this moment, Colin’s tone changed as well. “Mr. Ranford, what do you want? Do you want me to humiliate myself by saying that the school made a mistake? Or do you want the school to remove this post and abandon University of Highclere’s integrity and reputation? Or what? Do you want to announce Alexandra’s results and want us to make an exception to admit her when she didn’t pass the test?”

Julian sneered. “Alright, since Mr. McFadden has said so, let’s talk it out. Since we’re all mortals, let’s see who’s more selfish. If her results are announced, then the matter of your granddaughter secretly replacing the test paper will be announced online

at the same time.”

“You…” Colin was stunned.

Alexandra looked at the two of them in confusion.  Sᴇaʀch Thᴇ FindNøvᴇl.nᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Julian glanced at Colin expressionlessly. “Or do you have a better solution, Mr. McFadden?”

Colin suddenly laughed. “No wonder the Ranford family asked you to come back and take charge of everything when your father was in trouble. It turns out that you’re really not the same kind of person as your grandfather or father.”

That was not a nice thing to say.

Julian smiled and said, “I’ll take it as a compliment.”

Colin’s tone turned a little colder. “However, Mr. Ranford, even if I remove the post, do you think Alexandra can stay in school?”

Julian curled his lips and said, “Mr. McFadden, that’s right. How should we settle this score? I brought her here. Everything was good back then. But now she lost all her respect. Do you think I am a pushover?”

Colin suddenly laughed. “What a pity, Mr. Ranford. I knew that you would come after me. The test paper has already been faxed to the International Mathematical Olympiad Research Group at Halver University. I know that Mr. Ranford is capable. Why don’t you spend money to hire someone from the Research Group to give you a fake score!”

“Mr. McFadden, for the sake of your granddaughter, you’ve really decided to burn your bridges.” Julian tried to resist his

anger.

When the test papers were sent to the research team, the research team would make a professional judgment.

At that time, it would be difficult not to announce the scores.

Colin put his hands behind his back and shook his head. “That’s exactly what I want to advise you about. Don’t disregard your relationship with your elders just because of a little girl.”

Julian looked at Colin quietly for two seconds, then nodded and said to him, “Okay. In that case, we won’t disturb Mr. McFadden anymore. Let’s each do what we want to do.”

With that, Julian pulled Alexandra out of the principal’s office.

On the way back, Julian’s face darkened and he did not say a word.

Alexandra was so frightened that she did not dare to speak. She had never seen Julian’s expression so dark.

Alexandra got out of the car and saw that he had already walked a few meters away.

Gritting her teeth, she jogged after him.

“Mr. Ranford, wait… hey!”

Alexandra could only focus on chasing after him. How could she keep up with him when he had a pair of long legs. Before she could catch up, Julian turned around and she bumped her head against his body. Her head hít his chin.

She exclaimed in her heart, touched her head, and took a step back, almost tripping.

Julian was quick and pulled her to prevent her from falling to the ground.

Julian’s chin was also hit hard by her head. He endured the pain and looked at her coldly.

Seeing that she rubbed her head and did not speak for a long time, Julian felt that his patience had been exhausted by her.

Before he could flare up, he said, “Alexandra, do I need you to lower your head and bow to Mr. McFadden for me? Do you

backbone? You were clearly tricked, but you still want to take the blame! Are you so useless?”

He clearly knew that she was being kind.

She compromised because she didn’t want him to take things further. She didn’t want this matter to affect the relationship between the Ranford family and Colin.

She was doing this for him. He knew that.

But he was still angry.

He was angry that she did not trust him, angry that she made decisions for him on wronged herself because of him.

She took two steps back and didn’t even dare to look at him. “I… was afraid of causing trouble for you! Mr. Ranford, stupid? Grandma will be unhappy if you fall out with Mr. McFadden. If I have to choose between embarrassment and trouble, I would rather embarrass myself than ruin your reputation and the Ranford family’s interpersonal relationships…”

She explained incoherently, not daring to look at him once.

“You still think you did the right thing?” Julian questioned.

Alexandra glanced at him unexpectedly. As soon as she met his cold eyes, she quickly avoided them. “I’m just an insignificant person. Why are you doing this?! Even if I enter University of Highclere, what good will it do you?”

Julian stood in the night, quietly staring at her as he wiped his tears and explained.

For a moment, he was also puzzled.

In fact, she didn’t know why he was so angry either.

He didn’t have to ruin his life’s trajectory for her, a little girl who was going to leave at any time, a little girl who had nothing to do with him.

The night breeze brought over the fragrance of the roses in the villa’s garden and blew away his anger as well.

He said, “Alexandra, you’re not an insignificant person. At least, you’re very important to me now.”

Alexandra looked up.
