That was why they saw Alexandra as a thorn in their side.  sᴇaʀᴄh thᴇ Find_Nøvel.ɴet website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

Carson walked into the living room. His mother called him to eat first. Emery stood up from the dining table and said to him, “Brother, I have something to tell you. Do me a favor.”

Cecilia and Carson were both stunned. Emery had rarely made any requests to them in the past few years.

Carson nodded. “What is it?”

Cecilia also strained her ears to listen.

Emery briefly explained what had happened, but she did not elaborate on how Martha had bullied her.

After listening to the whole story, Carson rubbed his eyebrows and said, “Emery, why do you have to care about such a small matter?”

“It’s not a small matter! She’s my best friend! She was bullied by them because she helped me and she had no one backing her up.”

“Then how do you know this is a conspiracy?”

“Because I have a recording! Among those girls who stole the test papers, there’s his granddaughter!” Emery complained to her brother in exasperation.

After listening to the siblings‘ conversation, Cecilia roughly understood what was going on.

She knew about University of Highclere and had some friendly relations with Mr. McFadden.

She naturally knew what was involved. She said to Emery, “Emery, aren’t you making things difficult for your brother? Your father is also on good terms with Mr. McFadden. How can he go against Mr. McFadden for an unknown little girl? Besides, this involves Mr. McFadden’s granddaughter. It won’t be easy!”

Her concern was also Carson’s concern. There was really no need to fight with Mr. McFadden over a little girl’s future. Moreover, Emery was a student at University of Highclere.

Carson said, “Emery, Mom is right.”

“Yes, Emery.” Cecilia grabbed her hand. “We can help your friend find another school. How about this?”

Emery looked at her mother and brother in disappointment. If they didn’t care, Alexandra would really have to leave University of Highclere.

She was so anxious that tears came out of her eyes. She begged, “Brother, please help her! I won’t allow anyone to bully her! She helped me several times. She was set up this time because of me. If you don’t care, I’ll post the recording online. Then neither of us is going to get away with this.”

Cecilia was so frightened that she gasped. “No, Emery!”

Carson had no choice. He thought for a moment and surrendered. “Send me the recording. I’ll give it to Julian. Their family has a good relationship with Mr. McFadden. I’ll see if he has any solutions.”

“Thank you, Brother!” Emery smiled through her tears.

Carson did not even listen and sent

it directly to Julian’s email.

After sending it, he called Julian.

Julian was thinking of a countermeasure in the study. Before he could think of anything, he received a call from Carson. “It’s

so late. What’s the matter?”

“Why Did I hold you up?

“Get lost.”

“Alright, let’s get down to business. My sister’s friend is in trouble and is now trending on University of Highclere’s website.”

“What?”

“My sister insisted on asking me to help her settle it, but my relationship with Mr. McFadden isn’t that good either. This matter involves quite some people and won’t be easy to handle. I’ve sent you a recording. I’ll leave it to you. If you don’t know anything, go to University of Highclere’s website to take a look.”

Julian was speechless when the other end hung up.

Realizing that the recording Carson mentioned was related to Alexandra, Julian immediately opened his email.

He opened the recording file that Carson had sent him. The recording was only a few minutes long.

However, it was enough for him to know who was setting up Alexandra.

Julian leaned back in his chair and gave a cold laugh.

So this was the reason why Colin refused to remove the trending post.

Since he disregarded the relationship between the Ranford family and the McFadden family for his granddaughter’s reputation, he had nothing to be afraid of.

He did not care that it was almost nine o’clock at night. He immediately called Colin, but Colin did not pick up.

Then, as he put on his coat and walked out, he called Marco.

When the car drove out of the courtyard, Marco called back and said that Colin was in the school office and had not left..

So Julian drove straight to University of Highclere.

He came out in a hurry and did not know that Alexandra was not at home.

Instead, she had already come to look for Colin.

When she arrived at the principal’s office, Colin was alone.

This was the second time Alexandra had met the principal of University of Highclere. To be honest, Alexandra had respected him since the first time she met him.

“Mr. McFadden, I’m sorry to disturb you so late at night.” Alexandra clasped her hands together, looking listless. However, she still maintained her smile.

Colin smiled at her and invited her to sit down. He even poured a glass of water for Alexandra.

Colin had a good impression of this girl. She gave people the impression that she was humble and obedient.

Colin deliberated over his words and said, “About the test paper, there was a mistake. We will follow up on it.”

Alexandra knew what was at stake. Everyone’s eyes were focused on her. She had already turned in her test paper, so there was no room for negotiation.

Alexandra seemed to have accepted her fate. After all, she knew that if she insisted on saying anything, she would be ruining the relationship between the Ranford family and Mr. McFadden.

She did not want to cause trouble for Julian.

30%–

Alexandra raised her head. Her eyes were still a little swollen. She smiled and said, “It’s alright, Mr. McFadden. I don’t want to give you any trouble. Tomorrow, just announce my exam results as usual. This time, it’s also a good opportunity to correct the school’s style at University of Highclere. A good school should come with certain standard. Only then can the school attract more ambitious young people to come.”

Despite his surprise, Colin felt a little ashamed.

Colin did not look into Alexandra’s eyes and said, “Thank you, Alexandra. You’re so sensible. If you like University of Highclere, you can prepare again and get in next year after taking the college entrance examination.”

Alexandra smiled shyly. “Isn’t the college entrance examination even more painful?” she thought.

Then, Alexandra stood up. “I won’t disturb you anymore, Mr. McFadden. Just follow the school’s rules.”

Colin also stood up. “Then please put in a good word for me when you see Mr. Ranford. Mr. Ranford is not as open–minded as you!”

“Mr. Ranford is a very nice person…”

The office door was ajar. Julian had just walked to the door when he heard Alexandra’s voice coming from inside.

She continued, “I’ll tell him. Don’t worry. Initially, it’s my problem that I couldn’t pass the exam, so he has no reason to make things difficult for you. I won’t make a fuss over it, and neither will Mr. Ranford. Don’t worry.”

“Who said that?” A voice reached their ears the moment the door was pushed open.
