Chapter 89
Chapter 5
This video was so repulsive... I actually threw up.
Maybe I drank too much, but these two were just pushing me further into despair.
I spat all over my phone, then tossed it aside.
"Yo! Mia! Can't believe I ran into you here!" A man's teasing voice rang out next to me.
"Who? Who's calling me?" I shouted, surprised, as someone approached, and the bodyguard didn't even stop him?
I wiped my mouth and looked up.
The man looked familiar... wait, why was there a blurry figure appearing in front of me?
I rubbed my eyes. No, this was two men who looked exactly the same... two handsome guys.
"Jack, Dad said Mia returned yesterday, and I wanted to find her."
"See? I ran into her here. It must be fate!"
"No, you're wrong. The ones with fate are us, not you!"
One of the men turned his back and squatted in front of me.
Oops, his strong back was right beneath my knees. Was he really going to fall at my feet just after meeting?
The other squatted down too, not giving in.
What was going on here? Oh!
I naturally leaned onto one of them, and before I knew it, I was lifted into the air.
"Mia, I'll carry you home!"
"Jack! You used to carry me when I was a kid. Now it's my turn!"
I turned to look at the other. He picked up one of my shoes and rushed after us. Two identical... dare I say, two big goofballs? Yes!
That's it.
I wiped my nose against the suit in front of me and fell asleep.
"Jacob, Jack, listen to me, if you slide down the slide, you can hug me!"
With a swoosh, the two boys scrambled down, and I was in their arms. I smiled and patted their heads.
"Jacob, Jack, enough playing. We're going home!" A voice shouted.
"No, no, no! I still want to play with Mia!"
Their hands tugged at mine, making me laugh as they kept teasing me.
"Hahaha, let's play again next time." I woke up, chuckling at the sound of my own voice.
"Ms. Smith, were you having a nice dream?" Sarah's voice called out.
I opened my eyes and looked around.
"How did I get home yesterday?"
"The two young masters of the Spencer family carried you back.
Mr. Smith was quite happy to see it."
"Those two little guys have always liked you. They came early this morning and are downstairs right now!"
The Spencer family and mine have been family friends for years.
Mr. Spencer is one of the oldest patriarchs of the Smith family group. We've lived together since we were kids, and we're practically childhood sweethearts.
I'm two years older than them, and even though I was childish as a kid, I always took care of them like an older sister.
When I was in high school, I got really sick, and my body became so frail that everyone in my class called me the "Sickly Kid,"
which made me cry out of frustration.
When the Jack and Jacob heard about it, they ran to my class and beat up the ones who gave me the nickname.
I realized that they had grown much taller than me, and standing next to them, I felt like the little sister.
I tidied myself up and went downstairs, where I found them laughing and chatting with my dad.
"Jacob? Jack? Was it you two yesterday?"
"My precious daughter, don't call them that, they've grown up."
My dad sighed, shaking his head.
But the two brothers didn't mind at all. When they saw me, their smiles reached their ears.
"Mia, let's go out and play!"
"Yeah, it's been so long since you came back. Come with us!"
They pestered me to play for several days, and tonight, I had to attend the introduction party.
Dad said all the CEOs and managers of Smith's Group would be there, along with key partners in the business worth over a billion.
Tonight, would be Smith's Group's biggest event in decades. He wanted everyone to see his precious daughter -the future heir to Smith's Group. "Mia, go change into your dress. We'll go ahead and take a look."
I changed into my dress and looked at myself in the mirror.
The girl in the mirror no longer carried the gloom, and a subtle pink hue on her cheeks reflected the shy joy of a young girl.
"Alright, you two go rest. I'm just going to the terrace for some air."
After an hour of preparation, I slipped on a long coat and went to the hotel terrace.
There, I saw a familiar figure. "Alice, thank you for bringing us here. We've never been to such a luxurious hotel before."
I was surprised to run into Ethan's people here.
"Mia? Is that you?" Ethan's voice came from behind me.
