Chapter Chapter Six
Lliana and I had dinner together and then went home. She called Erik on the way and told him that she already set everything for him and he can come whenever he wants.
He told her that he’ll come tomorrow night.
The next day, I sat at home on my laptop looking for jobs and waiting for Lliana to come. She went to get Erik. They could be here anytime now.
I found a great job. The one that pushed me to study geology in the first place. It’s literally filled with adventure and exploration. But surly not made for me and I can never get it.
I heard the sound of keys and knew that Lliana and Erik are here. I smiled and jumped out of the couch then ran quickly towards the door. Waiting for my younger brother to show up.
Lliana came in stumbling over a big suit case with a very angry face. “Ugh, this traffic jam is unbearable and the cabs are so expensive. I swear I’m not out ever again,” She came in ranting about everything.
“You only got out a couple of times since we’ve moved to this place.” I told her smiling. And she shook her head irritatingly.
“We’ve made it home safely so please stop complaining,” Erik’s voice echoed from the hallway.
Then I saw the familiar curly brown hair and grey eyes appear behind her.
"Amber!” He said my name and ran towards me. We hugged each other shortly and then pulled away.
“Hey, I missed you” I told him honestly.
“Me too. Nice shirt by the way,” He said laughing at his own joke and I laughed with him. I was so happy that he was here.
I was wearing a nirvana black shirt, the last birthday present he gave me when I became twenty-two before I left the town. we used to give each other so many presents. I can stack a whole suit case of his and Lilly’s presents. We were practically living with each other. My parents were their parents and Lilly’s brother became my brother.
Thinking of gifts I remember the closest gift to my heart, my brown bracelet. I rubbed it lovingly and all memories of him came rushing back at me bringing all the pain and tears with it. I pushed them all back and focused on the present time.
“Thanks. It was a very special gift from a very special friend.” He smiled at me a knowing smile with a look of sympathy in his eyes. Both of them knew what happened but it’s not something I speak with anyone about, ever.
“So as far as Lilly told me I should be staying with a friend of yours,” He said and I nodded with a smile.
“Okay, then I should be going I want to sleep for a century and my phone and laptop... well pretty much everything needs to be charged.” He said pointing at his special bag at the ground that’s holding his life supports aka technology. For Erik he can spend more than two days without food but if you take his iphone or laptop for two minutes he passes out. But this is something pretty normal for someone who actually thinks that the binary language isn’t taking its full rights in this world and someday it’ll take it’s vengeance from us using the machines which with turn into monsters. If I talk about Erik’s thoughts in this world for a whole year I could never finish.
“Okay but I should be seeing you tomorrow I’ve got a lot to catch up with you,” I said.
“Sure thing. I just thought it’d be nice to see you first,” He exclaimed.
“Well if you didn’t I would’ve killed you and your brainless sister,” Lliana and Erik turned around to go. But he turned to answer me for a second.
“You can’t because you love us,” He said and the three of us laughed at him.
I looked down and saw that they have forgotten Erik’s suit case.
“Hey wait! You forgot this.” I yelled pointing at it.
“No leave it it’s mine.” Lilly yelled back. I can’t believe that she made Erik bring her a full huge bag only for her stuff and I’m pretty sure that it’s filled with more clothes, shoes and makeup. I said a quick “Okay,” before closing the door smiling to myself. How much I love these two idiots!
