Chapter Chapter Five
I wiped the sand and the water off my face and clothes then turned around to see who’s done this lame thing.
“Lliana! You’re the most horrible friend in this whole life,” I said angrily then stood up and ran after her. Of course she was my best friend only now I dare to call her my worst friend.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry. I thought that I could have a catchy entrance and ruin the moment and stuff like that,”
“You’ve ruined the moment, my hair and clothes. That’s not catchy!” I shouted out. Then she stopped and I did the same as well, both out of breath.
“But it was funny,” she exclaimed then laughed. “You look amazing,” She took out her phone and took a picture of me looking like crap.
“You think this is funny? I’ll show you what’s funny,” I told her and we kept running after each other for some time mostly playing with the sand hardly noticing Aaron still sitting on the shore.
After a while the two of us were extremely tired. Then I remembered that Aaron was there to witness my ultimate embracement
So, I introduced him to Lliana and told her that he’s my friend then they shook hands.
“So, Why are you here?” I asked her.
“Um... look, my uncle and aunt are going to spend the summer in France and visit some relatives and Erik don’t want to go with them. He wants to stay here with me. So if you don’t mind could he stay with us in the apartment?” She asked me hesitant.
I looked at her. Erik was younger than me with three year and I really loved him as a brother. I used to spend all of my time with Lliana and him when I was at my home town. But still, living with us in the same apartment. Isn’t the most comfortable decision to make. Although I don’t want to make Lilly mad. I really don’t know what to say.
Although, I don’t blame Erik for not wanting to go visit his family, the one who acted like they didn’t even know him and his sister when their parents died. The only ones that have always got their backs were their uncle and aunt.
“Erik is coming here? That’s great,”
“Yeah, I know. I really miss him and I’m sure you missed him too,” She exclaimed enthusiastically. I was happy and excited to see him too just not sure how to tell her that he can’t stay with us.
“So? Shall I call him and tell him everything is ready?” She asked. I stayed quit thinking of a nice way to say no. And she raised a eyebrow as if to ask why am I taking so long to answer her. I cleared my throat getting ready to start my long apology speech and praying that I won’t lose my best friend for how crappy it will be.
“Um... Lilly,” I didn’t get to finish as Aaron cut me off saying:
“Sorry to interrupt but, Who’s Erik?” He asked Lliana.
“He’s my younger brother,” she answered.
“Well I don’t see why should three people live in the same apartment together when mine is empty. He can stay with me if he wants,” Aaron offered and Lliana was stunned but not more than I was. I mean, you can’t find someone offering you a place to stay in everyday.
“You mean you don’t mind?” She asked him.
“Sure, I don’t like staying alone anyways.” He said casually.
“But I don’t know if Erik would agree. You see, we don’t really have money to pay another rent. But thanks for offering.” She mumbled embraced.
“Pshsh. What rent? I’m sorry but I don’t take money from my friends,” He said lightly.
“I’m sure that Erik’d love to. They can play games all day if they want,” I said because it seemed like it was my time to act now and Aaron nodded with a smile. I haven’t noticed that he’s got a cute little dimple on his right cheek when he smiles. That’s adorable.
“I really don’t know what to tell you Aaron. You’re a life saver thank you. I really appreciate that,” And Lliana finally agreed. She was right he did really save my life. I blow a puff of air with relief.
They made some quick arrangements for the time, phone number and address. Then she told me that we can go and eat something.
“Okay, go and I’ll catch up with you in a few minutes,” I Exclaimed.
She nodded and then walked away. I turned towards Aaron.
“Thanks Aaron. I had no idea what to tell her.” I told him relieved.
“Don’t worry about it. It’s fine, really.” He said smiling at me.
I heard Lliana calling me to come. So I excused Aaron to go. And ran to Lliana.
“Wow, he’s a really nice guy,” She said as soon as I joined her.
“He is.” I said.
“Just one question, are those contact lenses he’s wearing?” She asked.
“I guess.” I answered her.
“They look so natural. If it wasn’t for the sun I wouldn’t have noticed them at all.” I nodded at her. I bet she wants to go back and ask hum where did he get them now.
“But, why would a guy wear brown contacts. Usually people go for the colored ones,” she kept asking questions and I stopped answering only don’t have any answers and I’m not really a big fan of them. But to be honest they look really good on him.
