The Big Bad Wolf Mate

Chapter Bizarre Feelings

The next day, Naomi and I were still busy ironing out the details for the ceremony. We had redrawn the sketches several times, making sure the tables were arranged in the best way possible. I wanted to create an atmosphere of equality, especially since my father, his stepfather and he were such different leaders and having them in the same place would be extremely tense.

"If we sit in the center and have my family next to me and his family next to him, we can even out the testosterone levels on each side." Naomi chuckled at my comment,

"That would work perfectly. Then on the side of Alpha Winston and Luna Rose, can be Deacon and Kam, his gamma and mate and on your side you can have Alpha Felix and Luna June, Chase and Everly, Cole and Mik and Mark and Penelope. That way you each have the same group of people on each side. Unless you think Kam would rather be by you and Mik."

This time I laughed. "I don't think Kam will be worried about anything other than Deacon. Since they met, those two haven't noticed anyone other than each other."

She nodded as she added the names to the seating chart on her clipboard. Two women came out from the house with folded pieces of material that would be the table clothes. We settled on a white bottom layer with a blush lace runner laying on top. I requested a tent to be placed over the area due to the potential for snow at any moment, so the gold sequined material could be hung from the ceiling and draped to each corner pole with fairy lights all around the perimeter.

We still had a few weeks before the ceremony but I knew I would be getting busy with more training and I wanted to make sure everything was planned as quickly as possible so I could get back to making my pack members stronger and better than ever.

"Ok. Looks like we have everything we need. I will finalize everything, that way when the day comes, it will be as beautiful and amazing as you dreamed it would be."

I shook my head and said, "Thank you, Naomi. You have been such a big help."

Walking back into the house, a sudden feeling of worry hit me. Everything with Bishop and I had been going so well that I didn't know where this was coming from so I made my way to his office. I opened the door to see that he was sitting in his chair with his legs propped on the desk as he read the newspaper. He smiled when he saw me enter and my heart warmed, erasing any memory of the emotion I had just experienced.

"Is everything alright?" I asked as I walked towards him.

His eyebrows narrowed and he replied, "Yes. Why? Is everything ok with the planning?"

"It's all done. Naomi will make sure everything is perfect and when the time comes, I have no doubt it will be beautiful." I stopped just before his desk and placed my hands on the wood as he put the paper down and gave me a concerned look. "I just felt a little weird that's all."

He stood up and walked around the corner, taking me into his arms and said, "What did you mean?"

"I just felt, I don't know, really anxious. So I came to see if you were in trouble but you seem fine."

"Yes I am. Maybe it's your nerves getting to you. Are you getting cold feet?" He smirked.

"Never. I told you, I love you and there is nothing that would make me turn back now." Placing a small kiss on his lips, I felt my heart begin to race when the feeling from earlier crept into my chest.

Stiffening in his grip, I clenched his shoulders as pain tore through my back and wrapped around my arms. It squeezed and tightened the more I panic but Bishop held onto me and just being in his hold helped me relax.

"Breathe, Red. Breathe." He repeated the words several times before my heart rate slowed and my breathing returned to normal.

I couldn't explain the sudden, intense sensations that had wrecked my body and I hoped it had nothing to do with Bishop mentioning cold feet. Was I subconsciously freaking out because I still had unresolved issues with my father and his pack? Or was it really his feelings that he was projecting on to me trying to throw me off?

We stood there for a few minutes in an awkward embrace as I tried to calm my mind from thinking the worst. He never made me question him before. Even when he ran away from me in the beginning he still couldn't hide his feelings for me. He tried to fight them but his wolf knew before he did that I was his and he was going to stop at nothing to make him see that.

"What's going on, Red?"

"I don't know. The same thing happened before and the only thing I was doing was going over the seating chart with Naomi." I slipped out of his hold and walked over to the window. "But this time you mentioned cold feet and..."

"I was just kidding. If you were having cold feet, I would have felt the same thing you felt because they would have been your feelings. But what you just described, I never felt what you felt either time. These aren't your feelings, Em."

Turning around, I saw concern in his eyes and I closed my eyes trying to figure out what he meant.

"I need to call my father. What if somethings wrong?"

Running over to the phone, I picked it up and dialed the number. It rang several times with no answer and I stared up at him as I hung up. "No one answered."

"He might be busy, Red. Just because he didn't pick up doesn't mean something is wrong. Why don't we go for a run and when we get back you can call him again?"

Shaking my head yes, I followed him outside where he took a path behind the house. He took off at a slow pace as I trailed behind him still thinking about all the possibilities when my entire body began to relax. "Thank you." I said then took a deep breath as I tried to let the feeling linger while we ran.

After we made it through the thick brush, a clearing came into view and he stopped in the middle of it then sat down on the ground patting the spot next to him. Sitting next to him, I watched as he laid on his back then grabbed my hand and tugged me down to his chest. It was so serene and the view was just as incredible as the man by my side that I couldn't help but close my eyes and take in a deep breath, letting the cool air invade my lungs. Life couldn't get any better than this.

The ceremony is being planned and Em is being so amazing about it all. I didn't think she would give up the idea of being Alpha so easily but I guess Bishop gave her what she had always been secretly needing, to be wanted. What do you think is going on with her? Where are these feelings coming from? Could they be her's or Bishops? Or is it something completely different? Either way, I hope she gets a handle on it and doesn't think too much into it.
