The Alpha Kings Mate

Chapter 11

Alexander's POV

"Why do you have to do this to me?" gripping my hands at her arms "Out of all the wolves Denise! Why?!" tightening more of my hold on her.

"Stop this, Alexander! You're hurting me!"

I lean down my face to her "Am I hurting you?" guilt crossed her face "Or am I the one who's hurting here?"

The crashing sound of glass had me revert, taking me out of the memory that pains my heart to recall. The glass that I've been holding is now shattered into a thousand pieces at my hands. Blood is dripping down from the smooth surface of the bar which is now stained with my blood. The hot liquid of the liquor blended in my blood sipping in with a sharp stinging pain. But nothing will compare to the pain that rends my heart.

'Denise had painted my past. Painted my memories of betrayal, grief, and regret.'

Betrayal. Grief. Regret.

Those three words that had changed me.

Betrayal. Her betrayal to me. Betrayed what we had.

Grief. I was left grieving for what I had lost.

And lastly, Regret. Regretting all the fond and blissful memories we had. Regretting that I was ready to give all of me for her.

I let out a disgusting chuckle. Chuckling at myself that I was stupid. Felt stupid for thinking and believing that I almost give up and give everything just for her. Blinded by the foolish love that I felt for her. It was just that I was in despair that I would never find my mate. I gave up on finding her so I risk and desperately give in to be with Denise.

Looking back at the painful memories made me clench my fist not minding about the shattered pieces of the glass.

It was all her fault. She had me wrapped up on her little finger. She had us all controlled and wielded her beauty and sweet charms.

Because of her, I lost one of my dearest friends.

I had only a few trusted wolves I knew and now, I had only one closest friend left. S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

I have a deep heavy sigh. My dearest friend.

My dearest friend I cast out from the kingdom and never to return.

"It's been long gone and done. Let it all go and forget. Forgive and forget for you to be free." The calm voice of my wolf inside me made me close my eyes and made my shoulder fall in defeat. It pains my wolf to see me like this. But it pains me more and felt sorry for my wolf for turning him down on finding our mate.

"I've been looking all over for you."

Paul's voice had me look up and turn around. I was sitting on a high wooden stool chair, a glass in my hands that had liquor that I was drinking but was now shattered.

After the discourse with Denise in my room with the annoying little pup, I head my way out of my room and got here to the lounge room.

"I didn't expect I would find you here" he walk up to the bar and opened one of the top cabinets and pull out a pair of glasses. "I was trying to mind link you, but you're shut off" he put down the glasses on the counter then grab the bottle of whiskey, pouring it on the two glasses. Setting down the whiskey, he take hold of the other glass and hand it to me which I quickly took out of his hold and hurriedly drank its content. Burning down my throat.

"I heard that she's here," he said as he take a sip of his drink.

I furrowed my eyebrows and look somewhere else. Not wanting to talk about her right now so I ask him a question that instantly came to mind about the day I won't forget reminding me of the good times when we are still with our dearest friend "Do you still remember the day we tried to drunk ourselves here?" shaking my head at the memory.

"How could I forget about that, it was his idea" Then he look up to the center of the room where there was a set of plush sofas and a center table. Then he grin and look at me "We had put ourselves to the test on how far a werewolf could get drunk."

"It was damn good," I said while pouring my glass of another whiskey.

"Good you say?" then he chuckled at my response to him "It was far more than good! It was great to know that we could get drunk!" he gulp down the remaining whiskey on his glass before continuing "But that's not it, we could only get drunk after we had drank eight to ten or more bottles of whiskey. Or is it brandy? That is not I can remember if what kind of liquor did we drank that day" he lift the corner of his mouth "I just remember that we're just having fun and having a good time together" he set his glass down and lean his hands on the counter.

"He was the one who had always wanted to test our limits, explore more, and be curious about anything. He was always the one who get us into trouble."

"Yeah, you're right. Couldn't forget the reaction of your mother when she walk in here and saw us how we are wasted" he walk up to me and sat down beside me then he pat my shoulder "We couldn't forget him after all. After all that had happened."

"He will still be and always be our friend" I take a full swig of the whiskey and drop my head down. Paul is the only one who gets to see me like this. And him. The two of them, actually the three of us always had each other's back like true brothers. We had so many things we had done, bad or good, fun or not, we always tried something new.

Until that day. The day I've known everything. The day that put us together to our limits of being a true pal, buddies, and brothers.

I release a shaky breath, remembering all of it.

'And it's all because of her!'

Denise.

"Then, let's drink to his memory," Paul said grabbing the bottle of whiskey and lifting it in the air for a toast.

Moments passed neither of us didn't say a word. We just let the silence dawn on us in reliving the good memories we had once shared.

"You should go and do something with that," he said, cutting off the deafening silence and gesturing toward my wounded hand.

"Don't bother with this one. And besides, it would eventually heal"

"Okay, yeah you're right. Forgot you're the Alpha King" he said mocking me.

Then I decided to go back to my room to take a nap, to clear my mind of all this. I stood up from my chair but before I could turn my back on Paul he said something "I almost forgot why I'm here and looking for you. I came here to tell you that tomorrow we will start to scout and look into the northern area" his face expression turn into a serious one "And one thing more, Alpha Ace insisted to come and personally search for her daughter."

"Let him be. If that's what he wants" then I turn my back on him and walk towards the door and headed back to my room.

Entering my room, I remove my shirt and jeans leaving only my boxer shorts and dive into my bed. But before closing my eyes, I mind linking Paul for I forgot to tell him something "Hey Paul, forgot to tell you. Get someone in here tomorrow to fix my bathroom wall" I said in my mind link stopping myself to laugh.

"Seriously, Alex? Again? What did you do this time?" replied Paul, feeling his annoyance at me but before he could start questioning me again about what I've done and haul at me as a mother would, I shut off his connection to me. And I lay to rest my weary mind.
