Chapter 2
Chapter-2
Vanessa
Happy anniversary C!
After finalizing the cake flavour, the stage decorations, and the fruit menu, we were officially done with all the preparations for the ball tomorrow. I looked at the time, and it was already 5 o’clock.
“Hey C! Cyrus must be about to come, right? Do you want to go out to wait? I can look after the girls.” I asked Celina.
“Oh, I forgot to tell you; he can’t make it today since his flight got postponed due to heavy rain there. He’ll be here the first thing in the morning.” She replied.
“Oh, okay.” I said, nodding.
Since all our work for tomorrow was done, we just went out to the patio and talked while the girls played before us. They were in their wolf form, running after each other and howling. Violet was mainly a wolf, and even though she did have my witch genes in her, they were frail. She might be able to do basic spells if she tried to when she grew up, but right now, she was just like a normal wolf.
“So which tiara should I wear tomorrow? The one Cyrus’ mom gave me or the one he gave me on my birthday?” she asked me while looking at her phone.
“Maybe the one which Cyrus gave you. It matches your dress better than the other one.” I replied.
We talked for an hour or two before we went back inside for dinner. After dinner, we tucked the girls in early so that they were fresh tomorrow morning.
The following morning, we were up early to welcome Cyrus.
After getting dressed, I and Eliot walked to the front gate to find C already waiting there.
“Happy anniversary C!” I exclaimed, hugging her from behind.
“Happy anniversary Celina!” Eliot wished her after we were done hugging.
“Is Cyrus here yet?” I asked her.
“Almost. He mind-linked me and said that he’ll be here in five minutes. Chief Curzon and his family are also coming with him right now.” She answered.
Cyrus had gone to Chief Curzon’s house for the meeting. They were very close to us and one of our most prominent allies. Chief Curzon was Cyrus’ father’s best friend when he was a child and so they are our family friends. Moreover, I think Cyrus’ mom was originally from their pack so that just strengthened our bond with them. Chief Curzon’s mate was Luna Elisa, who was a very courteous lady.
They also had a son but I had never seen him because he usually stayed at home to look after the pack while his parents attended the meetings. Amara told me that she, Cyrus, and he used to hang out a lot when they were kids. He was about the same age as Amara. When he was 16, he was sent to a training school, and she hadn’t seen him since. He did start going to meetings recently since he’ll take over in two years but none of them were with us so this would be the first time I’ll meet him.
“Do you want me to prepare a room for them?” Eliot asked her.
“That’s already done. Amara just went up to make sure it was ready.”
“She’s back already? I thought she would come with her parents directly to the ball.” I said.
“She was, but she came back yesterday to help with the final preparations last night. You guys were already asleep and I didn’t want to disturb you.”
I nodded. I’m sure Cyrus asked her to come back to assemble her surprise. He had been planning for it for a month but didn’t tell me what it was because I was C’s best friend and he thinks I’ll tell her about it.
Then we heard the sound of cars approaching us. Cyrus was back. I saw C’s face shine as they came closer and closer.
When they were in front of the palace, the gate opened and Cyrus walked over to Celina and placed a kiss on her forehead while wishing her “Happy anniversary!”
We heard footsteps behind us and Amara walked down.
“Oh, you are back! Happy anniversary little brother!” she spoke while coming down the stairs.
Another car parked right in front of the castle and Chief Curzon and his family stepped out of the car and gracefully walked towards us.
We immediately stood in a sideline to welcome them.
