Chapter 948
Plans to return to Westonia were quickly arranged.
Larissa stayed two nights at Kevan's home.
She had arranged to meet with Lewis directly at the airport on the day of their departure.
Lewis didn't ask where she had been for the past two days. He already knew the answer. However, he expressed his confusion when he saw her alone. "Isn't Aster returning with us?"
In Larissa's original plans, Aster was to return to Westonia with her. However, Kevan's parents insisted on keeping him with them due to the risk of contracting the virus. Kevan had also mentioned that Cody might act erratically when forced into a corner. In the end, Larissa decided to leave Aster at the Rogers' villa which would be safer. Larissa answered, "He wants to stay back and play for a few more days. Kevan will bring him back to Westonia."
Lewis went silent and didn't ask further.
The plane touched down in Westonia at noon.
Due to Gary's urging, Lewis had no time to get over his jetlag and went straight to the office.
Larissa accompanied him.
Gary locked his office door and drew the curtains. He said with a cold expression, "I had the technical department check the computers of everyone working in the presidential office. However, we didn't find any evidence of contact with Moorewell Shipping. We have no way of finding out whether they contacted Moorewell privately."
Lewis deduced based on Brian's information, "The mole must have seen the quotation we gave to Thompson Medical. I've personally handled the Thompson project. I have only sent the quotations to you to keep things confidential."
Gary replied, "I never showed it to anyone as well. However, I didn't delete the email you sent me."
Thinking for a moment, he continued, "Could it be that someone hacked into my inbox?"
With this thought in mind, Gary made another call to the technical department again.
The technical department gave their feedback.
Gary's email account had never been logged into from any other device. In other words, his account was not hacked.
The only possibility left was someone had accessed his email through his personal computer or phone.
Gary was a cautious man and he never saved passwords on his devices.
When he left the office, he would always shut down his computer.
"That person would need to crack the password to my computer. After that, they had to guess the password to my email. Apart from the technical department, no one else could do it." The more Gary thought about it, the more it seemed impossible.
However, the technical department was not on the same floor as the presidential office. They didn't have permission to access his office either.
Lewis said, "Let's check the surveillance footage."
Since they were out of leads, they had to resort to the most cumbersome method. They had to go through everything one step at a time.
Lewis had sent the quotation to Gary about a week ago. Three of them took a computer each and spent the whole afternoon going through surveillance footage.
They reviewed the videos from a week ago until the day they signed the contract with Thompson Medical.
During that period, several employees from the presidential office entered Gary's office.
In addition, managers from various departments were there as well.
Gary mused, "I was present when the department managers came. It couldn't be them."
As for people from the presidential office, Gary couldn't remember whether he was present. It was too much for him to recall.
Fortunately, the list of suspects had been narrowed down.
Lewis noted down their names. "I will keep a close eye on these few people."
Gary patted Larissa's shoulder and changed the topic. "I heard that you played a crucial role in securing this contract with Thompson Medical?"
There was a smile on Gary's face, and his eyes were filled with pride.
