Chapter 29
Chapter 29
Her gentle and coquettish voice immediately brought everyone’s attention to the doorway, where Sigmund was standing with little expression.
The moment he heard Betty’s voice, a trace of irritation, which had been smoothed out before, rose again in his heart.
If it weren’t for the proximity, he wouldn’t have bothered to go over.
Betty stood up from her seat, her white dress appearing immaculate in this scene.
Seeing this, the people sitting on the sofa started to switch places.
“Sigmund, are you tired from the way you came here?”
With that, Betty was about to take the jacket from Sigmund’s hand, but he avoided her without a
trace.
Betty’s expression stiffened momentarily as her outstretched hand froze in the air.
But soon, she adjusted her emotions and wore that familiar signature smile on her face again.
“Come and take a seat. Everyone has been waiting for you for a long time.”
It was a thoughtless remark. Betty probably said it to avoid embarrassment, but it seemed to lump everyone into one group.
Sigmund frowned slightly, avoiding her and heading for the sofa area. It was the only spot left, and he didn’t think too much of it.
Betty then followed him and sat next to him.
When the others saw this scene, they thought the two of them were about to get back together.
After all, the relationship between Sigmund and Betty before was not a secret among people. Almost everyone knew about it.

Furthermore, Sigmund must have gone over for Betty. They wondered if the next thing Sigmund planned to do was to redefine the relationship between him and Betty.
Everyone in the room cared about this matter, but no one said it out in the open. They just swept
their eyes back and forth between the two of them.
After Sigmund finished his glass of wine, Betty hesitated and finally took out her cell phone.
Everyone, of course, stared at them with bated breath, guessing what big move they would make
next.
But things didn’t work out the way they expected.
Chapter 29
“Sigmund, I’ve been back for so long, but I haven’t added your WhatsApp yet. May I have your number now?”
+5
Although her words caught everyone by surprise, Betty could not care less. She looked like nothing had happened.
Her face was full of smiles at the moment. It looked like she was facing her lover, and the two of them were just doing something very natural.
And at the side, Miriam’s expression was no better.
Previously, she thought Betty had already won Sigmund, but she never expected Betty’s first words to be asking for Sigmund’s WhatsApp number!
Hearing Betty’s words, Sigmund, however, only gave her a faint look, and he seemed to have no intention of putting down the glass in his hand.
Betty’s smiling face only reminded Sigmund of a particular cold, icy face, and his words were also cold and heartless.
“I’m married, and don’t add female friends.”
Henry spit out the wine he had just sipped and looked at Sigmund with a shocked face.
No one had told him that things would go this way tonight.
He thought, “A competition between first love and current love?
“But since when did Becky become his current love?”
Betty did not expect Sigmund to say such humiliating words directly in front of so many people.
Although it didn’t sound wrong, these words seemed to condemn Betty for asking for a married man’s contact information.
It was as good as pointing at her and bluntly saying that she was a cheap girl.
Betty’s smile froze on her face because of Sigmund’s words.
She cautiously glanced around, only to find that everyone was staring straight at her, and the moment their eyes met, they shifted their gazes away unnaturally.
She had never expected this kind of embarrassment to happen to her one day.
Betty lowered her head to hide the expression on her face.
A few seconds later, when she raised her head again, she, once again, had a smile on her face.
“It’s my ignorance just now. How is your recent relationship with Becky, Sigmund?”
Betty’s question seemed to cause the temperature around Sigmund to drop quite a bit at once.
Chapter 29
“Initially, I thought you had always treated Becky as a sister. She used to love to follow you around and always called you the way a sister called a brother, but I didn’t expect you guys now to…” Betty’s words seemed to make things worse for Sigmund, and he became even more agitated. Almost without thinking, he interrupted Betty’s incessant words with a cold voice.
“You know my wife very well?”
Betty’s words stuck in her throat, and she looked at him in dismay.
She thought, “Wife?”
Sigmund lazily poured a glass of wine for himself and focused his dark, cold gaze on her. “Call her Mrs. Moolery.”
Betty felt Sigmund’s words were like a slap to her face.
No one dared to speak up for Betty. Everyone could see that Sigmund was now furious, and his tone was also very sharp.
Sigmund had stood up from his position and changed places with the others.
Sigmund’s appearance unconsciously reminded Henry of those two nights before.
Because of the wrong words, so many people present drank, and Sigmund even beat some on the
spot…
Since things had come to this point, he was naturally reluctant to intervene again, saving himself from getting into trouble.
Although Sigmund was called over there by Henry, Henry did not provoke him.
Betty sat in the same place awkwardly and could no longer say anything.
However, Miriam, sitting not far away, looked like she had thought of a plan. She grabbed the phone and shook it involuntarily.
The people present there understood the situation, but the people outside did not necessarily know
- it.
When Sigmund was talking to Betty, Miriam quickly picked up her phone and took a picture.
As long as she paid some attention to the angle, the photo could naturally deceive many people.
Looking at the photo on her phone, Miriam nodded her head in satisfaction.
After thinking about it for a while, she posted the photo on her Facebook page.
- She also added an extra sentence. “The heavenly match finally met. A feast for the eyes.”
