Spoiled By My Once Vegetative Husband

Chapter 9

Chapter 9

“What are you doing here, Hendrick?”

Yvette’s voice was cold and infused with anger. She was outraged.

Feeling the chill in her gaze, Hendrick could not help but feel intimidated. However, on second thought, he concluded that there was nothing to be afraid of, as she was just a girl from the fallen Towell family, not to mention that the touch felt good. The warmth that remained on his fingertips even made his heart tremble with excitement.

A smile looming with evil intentions appeared on his face. “Don’t be nervous, Yvette. Im an easygoing person. Let’s only sit here and have a chat.”

As he shamelessly leaned over, she quickly stood up and was about to turn around to leave.

“Yvette!” he called out softly. Seeing that she had stopped in her tracks, he walked over with a c ocky grin. “I know why you married into the Luxford family, but as you can see, Joshua is barely alive and could never become this family’s successor. Staying beside him would only make you a widow in the end. Once Old Mr. Luxford is dead, this family will be mine, and even Aunt Lauren will have to give in to me. Why don’t you come over to my side and whatever you want in the future…”

Just a moment before he could touch her, she seized his finger.

Stunned momentarily, Hendrick chuckled and was about to hold her hand in his.

However, his movement was much slower than hers. Yvette spun around and bent down while exerting more force on her hands before throwing him over her shoulder with a loud thump.

Hendrick was tossed to the floor on his back and was so stunned that he could not utter a word.

Yvette glared at the jerk on the ground as she sneered. “If you want to become the successor of the Luxford family, you at least have to wait until you manage to get up from the ground.”

Yvette, you wench! How dare you… Ouch!”

Despite Hendrick’s wails coming from behind her, she pretended as though she could not hear a thing and hastened her

steps.

“The day will come when you’ll be begging me for mercy, so you better watch out! Somebody help me! My head is bleeding. Take me to the hospital now!”

Chaos ensued after that. The eldest descendant of the Luxford family had been attacked. Blood gushed out of the wound at the back of his head, nearly scaring everyone to death.

Yvette’s retreating figure was cold, and the onlooking ser vants

ser vants were so shocked that their mouths were agape.

It was when she returned to her room that she finally relaxed. However, looking at the man sleeping peacefully on the bed, she suddenly felt aggrieved.

The misery she felt was even more than when her family went bankrupt, so much so that she could not help but collapse on the floor, wailing loudly.

“Why is my life so miserable… It’s all your fault! She pointed at the man while shrieking with an accusatory tone. It was as though all the grievances of the past few days had finally gushed out of her.

“Why are you still in a coma? I won’t need to suffer anymore once

once you regain your consciousness! There’s not a single good person in your family! Everyone is bullying me, so get up and avenge me! The people who ruined my family are bas ta rds. They wish to take advantage of me, and I’ll destroy them the next time I see them. Your cousin is an absolute jerk, and you’re not…”

Perhaps the exhaustion made her fall asleep after crying for some time. Tear tracks remained on her face, and she kept muttering to herself even when she was sound asleep.

However, the man remained still, showing no reaction to her rants and grievances except for a finger that moved slightly.
