Chapter sorry 64
Chapter 64. Cold as an Ice
Noah POV
Identifying who sits with whom was a bit tricky.
Since I previously loaded the triplets‘ car seats in my car, it would be more convenient to transport them, but Briana would have none of that.
She insisted the kids ride with her, and no one had the guts to say no to her, especially me when she was looking monstrously at us.
“Put their seats in my car.” She instructed the nannies who followed her orders efficiently.
I tried to talk to her, but the cold aura surrounding her was enough to freeze me on the spot.
1 just watched her helplessly. The children, too, stood obediently by her side.
With the car seats pulled out of my car, the nannies began strapping the children on
their car seats in Briana’s car.
“Where’s daddy!” Riley’s voice broke into the tense background.
He swayed his head from side to side, trying to locate me.
I could not stand the way he looked.
I only met my children recently, and I do not want them to think I will disappear once again.
“I am here,” I called out.
I opened the car door and bent from the waist to assure the children I was not going anywhere.
“Will you come with us?” Mason asked.
The children looked baffled but were trying not to antagonize their mother.
And I appreciate that my children are attuned to what is happening around them and do not make any fuss.
“Of course. I will follow your car.‘
“Why not ride with us? Mommy’s car is bigger.” Riley butted in.

Briana brought the kids upstairs to their room. I tailed them and was rewarded with a glare when she was about to shut the door on my face. Acting instinctively, I wedged my foot on the gap, thwarting her plans.
She took the kids in the shower room, and I followed them, rolling the sleeves of my shirt, ready to get wet as we cleaned the kids.
Briana left me to towel the kids dry and helped them put on their matching bathrobes.
I supervised them while they brushed their teeth side–by–side on the bathroom
counter.
Often, I saw them making silly faces in their reflection in the mirror, and I would laugh silently.
When Briana got back, we were back to looking straight.
“Hurry and change into your jammies,” Braina ordered the kids.
The kids promptly did as she said and changed into their nightwear. Then, they got out of the bathroom and approached the bed.
They shared a king–size bed because according to them, they do not want to sleep in separate beds.
“Read to us,” Riley said before jumping out of bed to a small bookcase near the wall.
He rummaged through the shelves until he pulled out a book and came back to the bed excitedly.
He shoved the book in my face, and I started reading.
Briana was conspicuously absent, but the children did not mind.
When she emerged, I dropped the book on my lap and saw that the triplets‘ eyes were closed.
“Where are you going?” I asked when I noted she changed her dress into a classier evening outfit.
Her shoulders are bare, showing more skin than what I prefer.
Briana ignored my question and went straight to the three sleeping children to kiss them on their foreheads. Then, she left their room with me hot on her heels.

thad this nagging feeling inside as I stared to Briana’s back
Downstairs, a man was waiting for her.
“Are you ready, Brie?” He asked my ex wife, who only nodded.
He stepped forward, offered her his arm, and she took it.
Without a backward glance in my direction, they left.
