Chapter Attractive Billioaire 10
Chapter 10 I Want to Set You Up with My Son
Caroline didn't mind getting out. She was glad to leave the car.
She pushed the car door open, stepped out, and slammed it shut with a loud thud.
The driver hesitated before nervously asking, "Mr. Davil, should we do something about Mrs. Ellison?" "Leave her alone!" David snapped.
Pulling at his tie, he leaned back against the seat, his expression unreadable but filled with tension.
Earlier, in the private lounge at the Brooks residence, David had confronted Matthew, demanding to know the identity of the woman from that night.
But Matthew's hesitance and unwillingness were obvious, clearly reluctant to provide answers.
David chose not to press him further; understanding the sensitivity of the situation, he had held back. He knew the matter involved the woman's reputation, and she had inadvertently been caught up in the chaos while helping him. He gave Matthew space to think it over.
Still, deep down, he was nearly certain it had to be Elizabeth.
He didn't like her, not even a little. In fact, he almost despised her.
Yet, despite his feelings, if Elizabeth was the woman involved, he wasn't about to let Caroline bully her, not on his watch.
As his gaze shifted to the rearview mirror, he caught Caroline in the act of throwing a rock at the car. How childish.
Caroline, now stranded on the road, fumed as the car sped away, leaving her coughing in a cloud of exhaust. She cursed David repeatedly under her breath
What kind of man behaved like this? He had no manners, no grace, just a cold, stiff-faced tyrant! He's nothing but a stiff, arrogant jerk!
Checking her watch, she realized she still had time to spare. After thinking for a moment, she decided to hop on the bus and visit the orphanage.
The orphanage, where she had grown up, held a special place in her heart. Caroline made it a habit to volunteer there monthly, often bringing small gifts like snacks and school supplies for the children.
Her frequent visits had not only helped her build a deep connection with the kids but also fostered a close friendship with Ms. Harper.
"Caroline! You're here again!" Ms. Harper greeted her warmly as soon as she saw her, her face lighting up. "It's been ages since I've seen you. Have you been busy lately?"
"Not too bad. Just dealing with some family stuff, but its mostly settled now," Caroline replied, keeping her tone light. She avoided mentioning her marriage; it didn't feel relevant when she was already planning for a divorce..

"I thought maybe you were tied up with dating or that you'd finally found a boyfriend," Ms. Harper teased gently. "You're at the perfect age for it." Ms. Harper said playfully before leaning in closer, her expression secretive. "Actually, Caroline, there's something I want to talk to you about."
"What's on your mind, Ms. Harper?" Caroline asked curiously.
"Well," Ms. Harper leaned closer with a sly grin. "I want to set you up with my son. What do you think?" Caroline froze for a moment, unsure how to respond. But I'm already married... This was impossible. Misinterpreting her silence as bashfulness, Ms. Harper took her hand warmly. "I've been considering this for a long time, but I held off because, back then, my son's situation wasn't ideal. I didn't want you to settle for less. You're such a great girl; any man would be lucky to have you! I can't bear the thought of anyone else snatching you away."
"Ms. Harper, I..."
"No need to worry, Caroline. Things are different now. My son is successful, powerful, and in full control of the household. Marrying him would guarantee you a bright and honorable future." Ms. Harper's excitement bubbled over, giving Caroline no opportunity to object. "He's busy with work right now, but I'll arrange for you two to meet soon. I know he'll be thrilled with the daughter-in-law I've picked!" Caroline
about tidve an awkward laugh, eager to avoid the subject. "Haha, sure, we'll see what happens. Love is about timing, right? Anyway, I'll go check on the kids now, Ms. Harper. Let's catch up later!" Using the childre
as a convenient excuse, she quickly made her escape.
Watching Caroline laugh and play with the kids, Ms. Harper's determination only grew stronger. She couldn't imagine a better match for her son.
Thinking of him, she took out her phone and dialed.
"David? Are you free to talk?"
"What's going on, Mom?" David replied calmly.
"Oh, nothing much," Ms. Harper said casually. "I just wanted to ask... When do you plan on divorcing that bride the Ellison family arranged for you?"
