Chapter Saying Goodbye To My Troubles 78
Chapter 78
Ted furrowed his brows. "So what? I'm the most important! I want to be discharged."
The bodyguard's expression darkened. He couldn't help but mutter to himself, wondering how a child could be so difficult to communicate with
"Mr. Wilcher is injured and can't come," the bodyguard reminded Ted.
Ted shot back, "Is it more serious than a car accident?"
The bodyguard was taken aback. He paused before answering, "It's not that serious."
The previous checkup showed only minor injuries. But since they were all over his body, any movement pulled at the wounds, so he still had to stay in bed to recover.
Ted's face was full of displeasure. "My mom was in a car accident and still came to take care of me. Dad's the worst! Mom is better. I'll go find her and have her help me get discharged." When Ted was four, he had Kawasaki disease and needed to wear a heart monitor had
stayed up all night taking care of him. Because she hadn't rested, she had been disoriented and was hit by a car.
That day, she fractured her wrist but didn't go for treatment because she had to be there to help him with his immunoglobulin shots, as a parent had to be present.
Now, he was asking for his mother's help in a situation where his dad was unreliable. But back then, even when he saw how pale and sweaty Nydia was, he never thought of calling his dad. It seemed like it was always his mom who had to do everything.
"Mr. Ted, you should stay in the hospital for a couple more days. Please stop making a scene, the bodyguard said, treating his words as nothing more than childish nonsense. "Please don't make things difficult for us.
Ted stopped causing a fuss.
Just then, a mother and daughter passed by the door. The little girl, Andrea Goodwin, had an IV in her arm, and her face was flushed, wobbling as she walked, looking like she had a fever. Her mom, Mabel Rodriquez, bent down. "Andrea, let me carry you."
Andrea shook her head. "Mom, you've been working so hard. I can walk by myself."
"But you still have a fever."
"Mom, your cough hasn't gotten any better. You're still working and taking care of me. You're so tired. I don't want to make you even more tired. I have to learn to take care of myself." She made a fist-pumping gesture, encouraging both herself and her mom.
Mabel, tears streaming down her face, smiled with deep affection. "Having you as my daughter Is the greatest blessing."
Andrea and Mabel slowly walked away, likely heading to a waiting room for an IV. Ted continued to stare blankly at the door, not knowing what was going through his mind. He stopped throwing a tantrum, so the bodyguards stepped out of the room to keep watch. Meanwhile, Mick had just finished his medication Lying on the bed, his face was dark with anger. He couldn't forget the humiliation Nydia had caused him earlier that day.
"Mick, don't stay angry. It's my fault. Before, when Nydia was being targeted at the hospital, I didn't help her. It wasn't that I didn't want to.
"I was just upset because she kept ignoring you, so I stayed out of it. I didn't expect that one of Nydia's colleagues would almost ruin her reputation."
Mick's face tightened. "What happened?"
Mona sighed and explained the hacker incident. "It's possible that Nydia offended someone while she was abroad, and that hacker went after her. If I had immediately hired a hacker to help, Nydia wouldn't have been criticized, and she nearly got hurt by a patient's family." She sighed again. "I think she assumed that since I'm close to you, asked me to do. I thought since you two were married and had a good relationship, she wouldn't care about these small matters, so I didn't tell you.
that since I'm close to you, this was something you
"Mick, in the end, Nydia really cares about you. She was jealous. Actually, she's not that bad. I once knew a young actress who, out of jealousy, even killed someone.
"You should listen to me. Explain things to Nydia properly. Don't keep arguing, or your relationship will be in trouble."
He had been so focused on Nydia's return that he hadn't had anyone keeping an eye on the
hospital. Now that he knew about this situation, his anger flared even more. He furrowed his brows deeply.
"Relationship? A country bumpkin like her doesn't deserve it." Mick scoffed.
