Chapter 60
The shovel was raised high and was about to hit Elizabeth’s head.
Suddenly, someone rushed over, grabbed the shovel with one hand, and covered Lexi’s mouth with the other while dragging
her behind a bush.
“Are you out of your mind? Are you going to destroy me?”
The maid pressed Lexi to the ground and trembled in fear. She said through gritted teeth. “Didn’t you say that you only came to scatter a few photos?”
Lexi had thought that she was exposed and was so frightened that her face turned pale. When she saw that the person who stopped her was the maid she had bribed, she felt relieved.
“I paid you,” Lexi said scornfully, sitting up and snatching the shovel from the maid’s hand.
“What can that bit of money do? I only agreed to let you in. If you mess around again, I’ll call the police.
“No one saw you give me the money, and the surveillance cameras are recording you attacking Elizabeth.” The maid pointed. at the lamp hanging on the tree and tried to fool Lexi.
Hearing the maid’s words. Lexi realized that her actions might have been recorded by the surveillance cameras. Her face turned pale again, and she couldn’t help but scream.
“Who is there?”
Elizabeth’s voice sounded.
“It’s me, Mrs. Hayes.”
The maid glared at Lexi warningly and stood up quickly to tidy up her clothes. She smiled awkwardly and said, “I just saw at worm and was so shocked that I fell.”
“Oh.”
Elizabeth nodded. She stretched and walked to the maid slowly. “A worm? How big does it need to be to hurt someone with a shovel?”
“What… What?” With a guilty smile, the maid tried to explain.
However, Elizabeth waved in the direction behind the maid. “There shouldn’t be any other accomplices. Catch them.”
As soon as Elizabeth gave her order, the bodyguards who had been waiting in the dark rushed out and restrained the maid and Lexi, forcing them to kneel in front of Elizabeth.
Elizabeth sat on the chair brought by the bodyguard. She looked at the resentful Lexi and asked with a smile, “Miss Cox, is it fun to stuff photos into the rooms?”
“You… You… Lexi looked at Elizabeth in shock. “How did you know? When did you know? That’s impossible.”
Elizabeth smiled and shrugged. “When? Let me think about it…
“Probably when you gave her the money and bribed her. It’s been a few days.”
“Impossible!” Lexi did not accept Elizabeth’s answer. “You are a good–for–nothing who was once chased out of the country. How could you be so quit–witted? You are lying to me!
“That’s right. You must be lying to me. It was Andrew, right? It was Andrew who told you, wasn’t it?”
“You have a deep prejudice against me.” Elizabeth did not answer Lexi’s questions directly. Instead, she gestured for the bodyguard to bring her the shovel that was thrown on the ground.
Elizabeth walked toward Lexi step by step, raised the shovel high, and swung it down forcefully.
Whoosh!
The sound of something breaking through the air rang in Lexi’s ears. She screamed in fear and curled into a ball.
Bang!
The shovel smashed into the ground, and a small pit could be seen on the stone floor.
The maid was frightened and lay weakly on the ground. She looked at Elizabeth and did not dare to speak, trembling.
Unexpectedly, Lexi was agitated after being stimulated. She screamed and became even crazier than before. “What are you” trying to do? Do you want to hit me?
Chapter 60
“Who do you think you are? How you dare to commit murder in Andrew’s house? Believe it or not, Andrew will..
“This is also my home,” Elizabeth interrupted Lexi. She squatted down and patted Lexi’s head, saying, “Tim the hostess here,
“Lexi, I’ve always known that you’re not that smart, but I didn’t expect you to be so stupid and even run into someone else’s house to do evil.
“Who gave you the courage to do such a reckless thing?
“Don’t say that it was the Cox family. After all, the Cox family is not worth mentioning compared to the Hayes Group.
“Alright, tell me. Who bewitched you and made you stand out to take the blame?”
Actually, even if Lexi didn’t say it. Elizabeth could guess who was behind Lexi.
Anyway, other than Katherine, no one else around Lexi had a grudge against Elizabeth.
However, after getting along with Katherine for a period of time, Elizabeth didn’t think Katherine was a scheming person.
“Pift! Take the blame for someone? I’m enforcing justice and punishing you on behalf of the heavens.”
Lexi was so stupid.
Elizabeth had said so much, yet Lexi still couldn’t figure out that she had been tricked. On the contrary, Lexi felt that Elizabeth was trying to sow discord between Katherine and her. She shouted, “I just can’t stand how arrogant you are now.
“You good–for–nothing! You obtained your current status by snatching Kathy’s fiancé!
“You should just die in the foreign country! You shouldn’t return to the country and ruin Kathy’s happy life.
“You’re as shameless as your missing mother and only know how to snatch other people’s things. Fortunately, Mrs. Clarke isn’t as easy to bully as Kathy. Otherwise…”
Slap!
Elizabeth was originally watching Lexi make a fool of herself. However, when she heard Lexi insult her mother, she couldn’t help but slap Lexi, causing Lexi to fall to the ground.
“Snatch?” Elizabeth squatted in front of Lexi and pinched Lexi’s chin hard until Lexi’s face was twisted. She said with a smile, “Is it how Kaida slandered me to the outsiders?
“My mother was David’s first wife, and the current Clarke Group you can see developed by relying on my grandfather’s family property. Does it have anything to do with Kaida and David?”
Elizabeth wore a bright smile, but the strength she exerted on Lexi’s chin was getting stronger and stronger, so much that Lexi’s chin began to crack.
Lexi was scared silly this time.
Lexi had never seen Elizabeth so angry. The jealousy, unwillingness, and anger in Lexi’s heart gave way to fear brought by Elizabeth.
“Mrs. Hayes?” The bodyguard was a little flustered.
“I’m fine.” Elizabeth realized that she had lost her composure. She coughed lightly, let go of Lexi, and stood up as if nothing had happened. She beckoned to the bodyguard and ordered, “Call the police directly. Sue her for trespassing and attempted murder and send them to jail.”
“OK.” The bodyguard responded and dragged Lexi and the maid out.
Lexi came back to her senses and screamed, “Elizabeth, how dare you! My brother won’t let you off. Mr. Clarke won’t forgive you!”
Elizabeth chuckled and looked at Lexi. “I don’t care.”
She was no longer the child who yearned for her father’s love.
If it weren’t for ethics, perhaps Elizabeth would have long gotten David, that treacherous scumbag, to stay in the hospital for a lifetime.
Lexi was being dragged out by the bodyguards, and her scolding became further and further away. Elizabeth watched as Lexi was pushed into the car and left. Then, she walked into the garage and drove a random car to follow Lexi.
Elizabeth almost forgot one thing.
There was still someone behind Lexi. Since Lexi was such a dutiful lackey, Elizabeth had to let the person behind Lexi see Lexi being crippled.
Elizabeth followed Lexi to the police station and parked the car across the road. She took a photo of Lexi being dragged into

the police station and sent it to Katherine.
Katherine did not even look at it and only replied with a question mark.
Elizabeth did not care if Katherine did not know or pretended to know nothing.
Elizabeth sent a voice message openly and said in the most gloating tone, “My dear sister, your lackey has been arrested. Guess how long it will take for you to be locked up.”
