Chapter 56
“Hello, this is the Hayes Group. Who are you looking for?”
The call was quickly picked up, and the secretary’s sweet voice came from the other end of the line.
“This is Sophia from the Hall Group. Please connect to your CEO’s intercom. I have something to tell him.”
Sophia’s patience was almost exhausted after spending so much time on the phone, and her expression was getting gloomier.
“I’m sorry, Miss Hall. Our CEO has instructed that as long as it’s a call from you, there’s no need to get access to the
intercom.
The secretary said apologetically.
“What? Why?”
Hearing that, Sophia suddenly raised her voice, her eyes filled with disbelief.
She thought, “Andrew actually instructed his secretary not to answer my call. Why? Does he dislike me that much?
“He was never so indifferent to me when I was young!”
“I’m sorry. I don’t know the reason either. Miss Hall, I still have work to do and can’t talk to you anymore. Goodbye.”
With that, the secretary hung up the phone politely.
“Miss Hall, Mr. Henry just called and said that he can’t appear today because he has something on. He got someone to send a flower basket to congratulate you, Sophia’s assistant reported.
Hearing that. Sophia gripped her phone tightly and then threw it out.
With a thud, the phone was smashed into the opposite wall. It was broken into several pieces, and the screen was so cracked that not a single part could be found intact.
“Damned Elizabeth! It’s all your fault that Andrew and I became so distant!”
Sophia added in her heart, “Does Henry want to dump me after using me?
“No way!”
As Sophia roared, a strong hatred burst out from her eyes. Her eyes were red, and her exquisite face became ferocious and terrifying.
She walked to the dressing table and smashed everything on the table to the ground.
When the assistant saw Sophia’s terrifying appearance, she hid in a corner and trembled, not daring to say a word.
After smashing everything into pieces, Sophia was still angry.
She gritted her teeth and looked at herself in the mirror. Then, she reached out to tidy her disheveled hair and looked back at her assistant.
“Didn’t you say that those reporters wanted to interview me? Get them to the flower basket that Henry gave me and place it. in the most conspicuous position.”
After that, the corners of Sophia’s mouth curled into a meaningful cold smile. She thought, “Since they were not coming, don’t blame me for being merciless.”
“OK. I’ll do it now.”
The assistant went out in a panic to make arrangements.
Not long after, Sophia arrived at the place she had instructed in a red dress. When she saw Henry’s flower basket, she bent down deliberately and touched it.
Only three words “From Mr. Hayes were written on the note, and Sophia planned to make good use of it.
After touching the flower, Sophia turned to look at the reporters. “I’m sorry to keep you waiting. Our interview can begin
now.
The reporters took out the interview scripts that they had prepared beforehand and asked Sophia about some work arrangements and the recent situation of the Hall family.
Sophia was patient and answered them one by one.
After the official interview ended, a sharp–eyed reporter asked, “Miss Hall, I saw you bending down to touch the flower Mr.

Hayes gave you just now, and you smiled brightly. May I ask if Mr. Hayes is someone important to you? Can you tell us anything about him?”
In modern society, few people would watch serious news. The news had to be mixed with some gossip to attract the attention of the public.
Hearing the question, Sophia covered her mouth shyly. She paused for a moment before answering shyly.
“He is Mr. Hayes from the Hayes Group and is indeed someone important to me. We grew up together and have a good relationship.”
Sophia did not explain which “Mr. Hayes” she was mentioning and left some leeway in her words. This way, even if someone confronted her in the future, she would have a reason to refute it. However, when ordinary people heard her words, they would subconsciously think of Andrew. After all, Henry was still nobody.
At the thought of that, a trace of imperceptible cunningness flashed across Sophia’s eyes.
“So it’s Mr. Hayes. I don’t see Mr. Hayes is here.”
“He is busy with his work and didn’t come. Worried that I would be nervous on such a big occasion today, he gave me a flower basket and sent me a message to encourage me. I’m more confident because of his encouragement.”
“Miss Hall, your relationship with Mr. Hayes is so enviable.”
“Thank you. I still have something on. Let’s end today’s interview.” When Sophia saw the meaningful smiles on the gossipy reporters‘ faces, she stopped saying more.
The reporters would do anything to attract attention.
With the conversation just now, Sophia believed she could catch Elizabeth off guard.
She wondered, “Is Elizabeth trying to stop me from interacting with Andrew?
“In that case, I have plenty of ways to destroy her relationship with Andrew!
“No one knew who would have the last laugh!”
As expected, less than half an hour after the interview, various news was released.
Some of the titles were more obscure, saying that Andrew and Sophia had been friends for many years and that Andrew had sent a flower basket to cheer Sophia on.
Some said directly that Sophia was Andrew’s secret lover and that Andrew gave Sophia a flower basket because he was newlywed and it was inconvenient for him to show up in public. In fact, his feelings for Sophia were not ordinary, and his newlywed wife Elizabeth was just his nominal wife.
As soon as the news was released, many people became curious about Elizabeth. Some boring and nosy people even started to investigate Elizabeth’s background.
Katherine, who had been kept at home for many days, heard the news while shopping with her best friends.
She believed the news and thought that Andrew was close to Sophia.
Katherine liked Andrew, so she was a little jealous. However, when she thought about how unhappy Elizabeth would be, she laughed out loud happily.
“I didn’t expect Elizabeth to have such a day. She snatched my fiancé back then and now is disgusted by Andrew. She deserves it!”
Katherine had forgotten that it was she who didn’t want to marry Andrew and forced Elizabeth to replace her.
However, hating someone didn’t require any reason. Those were just high–sounding excuses.
“Elizabeth was so unscrupulous last time, and I thought that Andrew liked her very much. It turns out that she’s just so–so.” Lexi sneered. “Isn’t she just a home wrecker who likes to interfere in others‘ relationships? Kathy, if you don’t like her, you can take this opportunity to vent your anger.”
Last time, because of Elizabeth, the cooperation between the Cox family and the Hayes Group had gone down the drain, and Lexi had even been severely reprimanded by her brother.
