Chapter 55
Chapter 55
After eating her fill, Elizabeth rubbed her belly and sat on the sofa, recalling everything that had happened today.
Andrew and she had lunch at a romantic restaurant for couples to date and then watched a movie together. During the movie, Andrew handed her tissues, and it seemed that he even hugged her in his arms when she cried…
After watching the movie, they went to the flower market to take a walk and shop. When they came back, they planted flowers together.
No matter how Elizabeth thought about what she had done with Andrew, she felt they were like a young couple on a date.
When Elizabeth thought so, her eyes widened in surprise, and then she suddenly stood up from the sofa.
She said to herself inwardly, “A date?
“So, was Andrew dating me today?”
“What are you doing here? Why do you look so surprised?”
Just as Elizabeth was making wild guesses, Andrew went down from upstairs.
“Nothing…”
Elizabeth turned back to look at Andrew and stammered out a reply. Her cheeks were burning hot uncontrollably.
Andrew had just taken a shower. His half–dried hair covered his forehead, bringing him a kind of pleasant languor.
Elizabeth only took a glance at Andrew and found that her cheeks seemed to be even hotter. Her heart, which was already beating a little fast, was now in a mess.
“You… You… Go have dinner. I’ll go to the study to make your next treatment plan.”
After that, Elizabeth did not dare to look at Andrew anymore. She turned around and went upstairs in a panic.
Seeing her run upstairs hurriedly, Andrew shook his head in amusement. Then, he turned around and walked to the dining room.
Elizabeth jogged all the way to the study. She leaned against the bookcase and reached out to touch her chest. Her heart was beating fast, and she panted slightly.
She felt a little embarrassed when she thought of how flustered she was just now.
Elizabeth was clearly a psychiatrist who was discerning and could see through everything quickly. Why did she become so slow in the face of Andrew?
Even so, she still thought Andrew and she were on a date today. She seemed to have tasted the sweetness of being with him. and even felt shy.
The next day.
Perhaps because Elizabeth was tired from planting flowers yesterday, she slept very well. When she washed up and went downstairs, Andrew was in the dining room.
Today, Andrew was wearing a black and gray suit, and the first two buttons of the white shirt inside were unbuttoned, revealing part of his study chest muscles. A hint of unruliness was mixed with his seriousness, which made a stark contrast to his usual meticulous image.
“Ahem… Morning. Why don’t you tie today?”
As she spoke, Elizabeth walked over and sat down opposite Andrew, taking the cutlery from the maid.
“I suddenly don’t want to tie. Can’t I?”
Andrew’s hand that was cutting the bread paused slightly, his tone carrying a hint of arrogance. He could not tell Elizabeth directly that he changed his dressing style just because she mentioned their age gap and even called him “Uncle Hayes” yesterday. That would be too embarrassing.
“Of course, you can.”
Elizabeth pursed her lips and thought to herself, “I just praised him for being much gentler yesterday. Why is he suddenly so arrogant today?”
At that moment, Peter walked in with a red invitation in his hand.
“Mr. Andrew, Mrs. Elizabeth. This is an invitation sent by the second daughter of the Hall family. She wants to invite you to attend the opening ceremony of her new company.

As Peter spoke, he handed the invitation to Andrew.
“I won’t attend it.”
After Andrew finished his words, he continued to eat the food on his plate without even looking at the invitation.
“I won’t go either. Peter, just throw the invitation away.”
Elizabeth did not expect Sophia to invite her as they had fallen out last time. If Elizabeth accepted Sophia’s invitation, wouldn’t she have to put on an act at the ceremony?
“Okay.”
Peter nodded and left the dining room with the invitation.
“Andrew, Miss Hall has been longing for you to go. I wonder what expression she will have when she finds out that you stood her up.”
After Peter left, Elizabeth looked at Andrew opposite her and teased him.
“No matter what expression she makes, it has nothing to do with me. Do you want me to go?”
Andrew looked at Elizabeth unhappily. Seeing that she could still joke about him with Sophia, he suddenly felt a little uncomfortable.
Other men’s wives would hit the roof at the mention of their rivals in love. Why didn’t Elizabeth have any sense of possessiveness?
“No. I just want to see Sophia angry, which is interesting to me. It doesn’t matter if I can’t see it. I can just imagine it.”
At the opening ceremony of Sophia’s new company.
Now, Sophia was still entertaining the guests happily who came to attend the ceremony, completely unaware that she had been stood up by the Andrew she had been longing for.
In order to welcome Andrew, Sophia got up at five o’clock this morning to put on makeup. She wanted to dress up attract Andrew’s attention so that he would take a second look at her.
and
As a result, she waited bitterly for three hours. Even after the ribbon–cutting ceremony ended, Andrew was still nowhere to be seen.
“What’s going on? Why isn’t Mr. Hayes here yet? Didn’t you send the invitation to him?”
Sophia questioned her assistant with dissatisfaction.
“Miss Hall, I delivered the invitation to Mr. Hayes‘ butler in person. There’s no mistake.”
The assistant explained immediately and looked wronged.
“Bring me my phone. I’ll make a call and ask.”
“OK”
The assistant took out Sophia’s phone from her bag quickly and handed it to Sophia respectfully.
Sophia took her phone and called Andrew.
She had spent some effort to get Andrew’s private number.
However, after Sophia called, the phone was hung up mercilessly after a beep. It was obvious that Andrew had set it to reject unfamiliar calls.
Hence, Sophia exited the dialing interface and opened her address book. She found the number in Andrew’s villa and dialed it directly.
About ten seconds later, the phone was picked up, and an old man’s voice sounded on the other end of the line.
“Hello.”
“Hello, this is Sophia. I got someone to send an invitation to Andrew today, but he hasn’t come yet. May I ask if he’s s the invitation?”
Even though Sophia was anxious, she still asked patiently.
“I’m sorry. Mr. Andrew said that he was busy with work and didn’t have time to attend the ceremony.”
Peter answered Sophia in a more tactful manner.
“Alright, I understand.”

Chapter 55
Sophia gritted her teeth, and the resentment and dissatisfaction in her eyes grew stronger. She thought, “Elizabeth, that bitch, must have done something behind me. Otherwise, based on our good relationship in childhood, Andrew would definitely come.”
Sophia hung up the phone and found Andrew’s work number. Without thinking, she dialed it.
Sophia planned to make things clear to Andrew today. Ever since she returned to the country, Andrew’s attitude toward her was completely different from when she was young. He did not even give her a chance to meet him alone, and she didn’t intend to give up.
