Our Journey Back To Love

Chapter 27

Chapter 27

“What is it?”

“Hypothetically speaking, if I were to give you another chance, will you end things with Jessica?” This was the last time she would ask this of him.

Brian’s gaze fell on her. After a while, he answered, “No,”

Stella felt her lips tugging into an easy smile. However, there was only self–deprecation in her eyes. That’s that, then. From now on, my life is mine to carve, not yours.”

Even if she couldn’t get a divorce, she could choose not to love him.

Perhaps he wouldn’t be used to her absence. Still, that wasn’t love. He would only feel that way

habit. He was used to having a pretty and obedient doll in bed. Anyone would feel reluctant to part with it.

“I’ve already made my stance clear about the divorce. never agree to it.” Brian’s eyes settled on her like a heavyweight.

Stella shrugged his hands off her with empty eyes, “I know. You want to torture me. You’re welcome to do whatever you want. Once you tire of me, my only request is for you to give me my freedom.”

After she said her piece, she lay on her side and settled under the sheets.

Brian remained silent as he looked at her figure. She had curled into herself, looking lost and alone.

His eyes flickered at the sight. He was just about to embrace her when his phone rang.

It was a call from Jessica.

When Brian answered, Bernard was the one on the line “Brian, Jessica fell at the club.”

Brian didn’t even listen to the full explanation when his face turned stony. “Is the baby alright?”

“We have no idea. Joseph sent her to the hospital. Hurry over!”

Brian had a grim look on her face. He glanced at Stella and decided against bothering her.

Instead, he draped a jacket over his shoulders and left.

Stella was left all alone on the bed.

She had heard everything earlier. She had listened to Brian’s anxious tone. There was no concealing the worry behind it

He was very concerned about Jessica and her child.

Stella let out a sigh.

She would never hope for anything beyond her station any longer.

Stella lay spread eagle when she woke up the following morning. The slightly chilled sheets pressing against her skin told her that Brian hadn’t returned for the night.

She felt herself wallowing before finally settling on acceptance.

There was no need to be sad.

She had won 2.1 million yesterday, allowing her to clear her debt to Brian. From now on, she didn’t owe him anything. She could finally be herself.

Stella went downstairs.

Mr. Foley Senior had gone fishing. So, there wasn’t a person to be seen in the residence.

Stella was just packing up her stuff so she could leave when she bumped into Sharon by the entrance,

Sharon had her own place. So, she didn’t live in the Foley residence.

It seemed that she had gotten some good news over the phone. Her eyes were shining with joy as she exclaimed, “Is that true?”

She continued chatting before ending the call, saying, “Thank you for your hard work. I’ll pay you a visit

soon.”

Stella attempted to slip away the instant she caught sight of Sharon. Alas, the eagle–eyed woman had already noticed her just as she was about to leave.

“Stella!” Sharon called out to her.

Stella had no choice but to curl her lips into a polite smile and say, “Good morning, Sharon,”

“Are you returning to Yolvencrest Estate?” Sharon inquired.

“Yes.”  S~ᴇaʀᴄh the FɪndNøvel.ɴᴇt website on Gøøglᴇ to access chapters of novels early and in the highest quality.

“Where’s Brian?”

“He didn’t return last night,” Stella answered honestly.

Sharon didn’t comment on her son’s behavior. Instead, she said dispassionately, “Join me. I’ll have the

driver send you home.”

Stella could only grit her teeth and join Sharon in her car.

Sharon was sitting right next to her.

As a result, Stella didn’t dare to scroll through her phone. Frankly, she felt utterly stifled being in the same

space with Sharon.

“Stella, I heard that Brian’s mistress is pregnant. Is that true?” Sharon asked out of the blue.
