Chapter Epilogue ✔
AIDEN
Ten years later
“Mama, have you seen my boxing gloves?” Elliot asked as he walked into the kitchen. I turned around to look at him while resting my hand on the baby’s back. Elliot was our third, eight years old, he looked like me but with slightly darker skin.
“I’m not sure. I think Artemis had them a little while ago.”
He groaned loudly. “I told her not to touch my stuff!”
“She’s doing it to get closer to you. I’ll be sure to get her a pair of her own but make sure to express yourself again.” He nodded and left the room.
Artemis was the next child we had. She was seven and wanted to do everything her older brothers did. She had long light brown curly hair, hazel eyes, and a mix of mine and Jay’s skin.
Then there was Alya...
We didn’t get to find out what she looked like. She would have been five. I did everything that I did with the boys and we just... lost her. It was heartbreaking and I couldn’t help but blame myself.
I fell into a deep depression after we lost her. I could barely get out of bed in the morning. I missed a lot of the boys’ lives which only made me feel more guilty.
It took two years until I finally felt like things were getting back to normal. I focused on taking care of the boys, baking, and running the bakery. But we would never forget about Alya.
Three years after that, we got news about Bennett, our rainbow baby. He was three months old and was a carbon copy of Jayvee.
Bennett was strapped to my chest as I cooked dinner.
Once dinner was done, I pushed the five buttons on the wall to let the others know that they were being called. We had moved out of the pack house after I got pregnant with Elliot. The little apartment just wasn’t big enough for our quickly growing family. About a week after we moved, I got tired of yelling for the kids. So I made Jayvee install doorbells in each of the kids’ rooms. I smiled as I heard multiple pairs of feet stomp down the stairs.
“First!” Galaxy shouted as their slapped the door frame. Their siblings groaned behind them. Galaxy stuck their tongue out at their siblings before walking over to me. “Hey, Ma. Hello little Benny!” They wiggled a finger in front of Benny’s face causing him to giggle loudly.
“Hello, my eldest baby.” I greeted causing them to groan.
“Mom,” they whined “We talked about that. I’m almost thirteen, you can’t keep calling me your baby.”
“Oh, but you’ll always be my baby!” I cooed as I hugged them tightly. “Now go get your plate before your brothers eat it all.” They walked past me. Galaxy came out to us roughly a year before that. They are non-binary but are fine with masculine terms.
I looked over at Artemis, who was standing in the line that was formed with a plate in her hands. “Art, sweetheart, do you want some help with making your plate?” I asked softly.
She looked up at me with big eyes and nodded. I took her plate and put everything she asked for on it. Once her plate was filled as she liked I set it at her place on the table and got her some almond chocolate milk.
I smiled happily as I watched my children eat their dinner, my smile got brighter as I felt arms wrap around me.
“Did you forget to make yourself a plate again?” Jayvee whispered in my ear.
“I need to make sure they have enough. Get yourself a plate, I’ll eat what’s left.”
Jayvee sighed and left to get a plate. A few minutes later he walked past me with a plate full of food, but he went to the table and set it at my place. He came to me and guided me to my seat. “You eat this, and I’ll eat what is left.” He said before he kissed my cheek.
I would have never guessed that my life would’ve ended up like this. I have a wonderful family and beautiful children. There were bumps along the way, but I wouldn’t change a thing.
I looked up from my plate as there was a knock on the door. My anxiety shot up as Jayvee went to open it. Ever since Felix was born Hami never stopped trying to be a part of his life. It was incredibly stressful keeping Felix away from him, but it was necessary. Mate or not, he cannot grow up with someone older than him and then be in a relationship with that person.
Thankfully, we were able to make a deal with Hami about a month earlier. We give him a blanket that has Felix’s scent, and he stays away until Felix is of age.
Which isn’t too far away, as much as it pains me to say. Felix had just gotten his wolf, Oliver, which made him a very early bloomer being eleven.
The children stopped talking when Jayvee’s voice began to get louder. “No! We made a deal now leave!”
I quickly stood up and handed Bennett to Galaxy. “Stay here,” I said before I ran out of the room to help Jayvee.
The sight I came to honesty broke my heart. Hami was standing on our doorstep, he looked horrible. He was skinny, his hair was matted, and his clothes were torn.
"Please, it doesn’t have his scent anymore. Did you really think one blanket would last seven years?”
I crouched down to his level to speak to him. “Of course, we didn’t but that doesn’t mean that you can come here when the children are here. I will get you something but next time you wait until the kids are at school. Do you understand?”
Hami cried in joy and handed the blanket to me. “Yes, yes, yes! I understand, I promise! Thank you! Thank you! Tha-”
“Pa? Mama? What’s going on? Who is that and why do they have my blanket?” My face drained of color at the sound of Felix’s voice.
