My Wolf and I

Chapter 41 ✔

JAYVEE

Two days. He has only been in this world for two days. I could barely take my eyes off of him.

Aiden was sleeping on the bed with Galaxy, and I was on a rocking chair holding the baby. I had my shirt off so we could bond.

He was born a month and a half premature but thankfully because of the alpha blood in his genes, he is fine, just a little smaller than most.

I looked up as Aiden began to wake up. He cringed as he sat up slowly to not disturb Galaxy. He smiled at me and grabbed his phone. I watched as his eyes glided across the screen with a smile on his face.

“My parents are on their way, and yours said that they will be here in about an hour.” I nodded and adjusted the baby.

“Would you like to trade?” I asked and chuckled as Aiden quickly nodded. I slowly stood up and gently lowered the baby into Aiden’s arms. Once he was situated, I took Galaxy and sat back down in my chair.

“I’m surprised Hami isn’t in here freaking out over the baby,” I said jokingly but my smile dropped when a dark look came over Aiden’s face.

As he told me what happened before he got to the hospital, I began to see red. “He said what about our child?” I growled.

Said child clearly did not like the angry scent that was coming from me because she began to whine and stir from her sleep. I quickly tried to calm myself down and shushed her back to sleep.

“If I ever see him again, he’d be lucky to keep his life,” I said, and Aiden nodded in agreement.

We ended up falling asleep until our parents arrived. My dad gently woke me up as Ace woke Aiden. I tightened my grip on Galaxy and sat up. When I finally got the sleep out of my eyes, I saw that my dad and Ace were sitting on the couch together with the baby.

“How are you feeling?” My mom asked as she took Aiden’s hand.

“Other than the pain when I move too fast. Great.” He smiled brightly.

“Are you going to tell us the name of our grandson?” Kade asked as he looked happily down at the baby in Ace’s arms.

“Felix Haddox,” I said with a smile.

Around an hour later, Kade ended up taking Galaxy from my arms to give her some attention. I joined Aiden on the bed and wrapped my arms around him as we talked.

As we were talking, there was a knock on the door. The door opened and revealed a nurse. She smiled apologetically and said, “I’m sorry to interrupt, but you have a visitor.” She stepped back as Hami slowly floated into the room.

I growled and stood from the bed. “What the fuck are you doing here?”

He calmly held his hands in front of him. “I’ve been living with you for nearly four months. I have helped take care of Aiden throughout his pregnancy. I deserve to meet this baby. Then I will leave.”

“You don’t deserve anything,” Aiden said with venom. He held his arms out to my mom who quickly handed Felix to him. “You don’t deserve to meet him if you think Galaxy doesn’t matter. Now leave.”

Hami’s eyes widened at the movement of the baby. Before any of us could stop him, he flew to the ceiling above Aiden. He made a noise that sounded like a happy chirp.

Aiden leaned over Felix to shield him from Hami as I growled loudly. “Get the fuck out!”

“Or what? Do you plan to kill your son’s mate?” He asked cockily as he floated down next to Aiden.

I angrily walked to him and roughly grabbed his arm. I walked him to the door and threw him out. “If you think for a goddamn second that you are going to watch my son grow up and then be his mate you have another thing coming. I don’t give a shit that you want to be there for him. He will not grow up around you and then be with you when he is of age.”

Tears welled in Hami’s eyes as he stood up. “B-but he is perfect! He is my mate! I have to be there for him!”

“And you can,” I said grabbing ahold of the door. “After he is able to know who you are on his own.” I slammed the door shut.
