Chapter 70
Chapter 70
“Ah… it’s nothing.” Giselle hadn’t really given it much thought when she blurted out her words without thinking, as she was in an excellent mood.
Feeling shy, she didn’t have the courage to repeat herself.
Hymes, however, was very intrigued by her words. As she avoided eye contact, he leaned in close to her ear.
With a seductive voice, he said. “Say it again. I didn’t quite catch what you said earlier.”
His tone was nonchalant, even a bit roguish.
If it weren’t for his strikingly handsome and cold appearance, Giselle would have called him a pervert.
However, Hymes did seem a bit different today. He was wearing a jacket with the collar up, which accentuated his sharp jawline.
Fierce and tough.
Handsome enough to make all women fangirl over him.
To change the subject, Giselle playfully tugged on his clothes. “Aren’t you hot wearing something so thick?”
Hymes replied, “I’m not hot.”
Of course, Hymes would never admit that he had spent a long time contemplating what to wear in order to impress Giselle today.
He wanted to further captivate her with his good looks.
Moreover, this decision was made based on the advice of two other friends.
But he was indeed a little hot.
However, what did heat matter when he could hold his beautiful lady by the end of the day?
Just then, they entered the racetrack area, and staff members immediately came to greet them.
“Mr. Giles and Ms. Ostry, please come with me!”
Soon, they took the elevator down to the racetrack’s resting area, where they could prepare for the race.
Giselle saw the black and red race car nearby, and her heart raced with excitement.
Her eyes sparkled. “Can Louch it?”
This was a real race car!
Worth a fortune, and getting to touch one would be a dream come true!
The staff member was very polite. “Of course, please come this way…”
Just as Giselle was about to head over, a sneer came from behind her, “What a country bumpkin who has never seen a race car before.”
The staff member looked over and greeted the newcomer with equal enthusiasm and even a bit of deference. “Mr. Collins, you’re here? I thought you had an appointment for tonight?”
Rey swaggered over with a group of trendy young men and women in tow.
Chapter 70
“I’ve got a party tonight, so I came this afternoon. How’s the maintenance on my car?”
“Don’t worry. It’s all taken care of?”
Rey Collins nodded. “Alright, I’ll take it for a spin.”
“However, when I’m driving, I don’t want anyone else on the track. Clear it for me.”
Rey arrogantly glanced at Giselle, who had just been admiring the race car with excitement, and sneered in his heart.
But when he got a good look at Giselle’s face, his expression changed drastically, revealing his obvious interest in her. Anyone could tell he was attracted to Giselle.
Rey was indeed arrogant. Even though a tall, cold–eyed man stood beside Giselle, he blatantly ignored him, relying on his
own status.
Rey walked directly toward Giselle. “Girl, is this your first time here?”
Giselle’s expression was cold. “Is that not allowed?”
“Of course, you are allowed! But since it’s your first time here, you might not know your way around. How about I show you? My car was just shipped back from abroad, and it hasn’t had any other women in it yet!”
The people who came with Rey laughed and teased him, “Oh, Rey found a new target!”
“Your girlfriend will be angry when she finds out later!”
“Yeah, Rey, don’t you care about what your girlfriend thinks?”
Rey didn’t care and scoffed, “As long as you guys don’t tell her, how she would know? She’s coming later anyway… I’ll just have some fun first.”
Giselle was extremely displeased by Rey’s frivolous language. Just as she was about to lash out, Hymes reached out, gently placed his hand on her shoulder, and pulled her into his embrace.
His voice was icy. “Who are you inviting?”
Rey, although shorter than Hymes, still didn’t care, “It’s your first time bringing your girlfriend here too, right? Must have been quite a challenge…”
“Here’s the deal. You let your girl join me for a ride.”
As Rey said this, he pulled a bank card from his pocket. “The money in here will be yours.”
This was outrageous!
The staff at the racetrack, seeing this scene, couldn’t help but worry and reminded Rey, “These two are also our guests…”
“It’s none of your business! I invited her. Do you have a say in it?”
Rey challenged Hymes. “What do you say? There’s at least tens of thousands of dollars on this card.”
Hymes had a chilling smile on his lips, and Giselle scolded, “Put away your dirty money. Who do you think would want it?”
“Oh, you have such integrity? I’ve never met anyone who is truly not interested in money!”
Rey’s friends started whistling, “Last time Rey invited a woman for a drink, her boyfriend didn’t agree at first, but in the end. he was persuaded with just one bank card, right?”
These were reckless, arrogant, and wealthy kids.
Chapter
Thinking their family money gave them the right to be overbearing.
Never knowing what manners and rules were, and unaware that there were some things they couldn’t conquer.
Once they met their match, the consequences would be devastating
Giselle noticed these people were well–dressed and obviously wealthy, but she didn’t want to provoke them. She whispered. to Hymes, “Let’s go. Don’t bother with them.”
But they wouldn’t let them leave and asked Hymes, “You haven’t said yet. Are you willing or not? If you think the money here is too little, I’ll give you more, as long as you let your girlfriend accompany me for a ride.”
Hymes looked at Rey quietly, his eyes exuding a chill that inexplicably made Rey shiver.
But Rey quickly dismissed it, thinking that no matter how frightening Hymes was, he was just a newcomer to this scene!
Rey didn’t even know how Hymes got the qualifications to be here.
Hymes‘ gaze was cold. His voice was low and dangerous. “You’re good at racing?”
“Of course! This is already my fifth race car, all racing–grade!”
“Let’s race one round.”
Hymes calmly said, “If I lose, you can do as you please. If you lose, apologize to my wife and leave this place immediately.”
Rey was also a competitive person. Hearing about the challenge, his attention was immediately diverted. “Hahaha, alright! If you lose, you’ll let your wife ride shotgun in my car… but you won’t get that chance!”
Hymes ignored the roaring laughter from the crowd and gently rubbed Giselle’s hair. “Honey, wait for me on the side.”
Giselle was a bit worried. “Can you do it?”
“I’ve never lost in this kind of thing.”
There was a profound depth in Hymes‘ eyes.
Heat rose to Giselle’s face, but she nodded resolutely. “Okay, I’ll wait for you on the side.”
