Mine

Chapter 31

Kimberly couldn't sleep that night, no matter how hard she tried to. She kept thinking about all Christine had told her that day.

How could someone lose so many loved ones in such a short period of time and still manage to stay strong? She felt sorry for him for having to go through all of that.

All the thinking made Kimberly dehydrated, she needed a glass of water so she got out of bed and headed for the kitchen.

On her way to the kitchen, she noticed the door to Roy's bedroom was slightly ajar. She contemplated whether or not to take a peek inside to find out if he was home. She decided not to snoop around a second time as that was her previous mistake which brought them to the present state they were in.

Hesitantly tearing her eyes away from Roy's bedroom door, she continued her journey to the kitchen.

After quenching her thirst, she decided to go back to bed. She wished it could come as simple and quickly as it sounds because it has been difficult for her to fall asleep for days now.

Before getting to her bedroom, Kimberly couldn't stop herself from again staring at Roy's slightly opened door. She wasn't thinking when her hand reached for the door knob and opened it as quietly as possible.

She looked around the room and her eyes caught the most handsome sight. Roy looked like a Greek god while asleep as his long black locks were let loose this time, giving him an even more attractive look.

Kimberly couldn't take her eyes off his shirtless body as his abs were a sight to behold with his beautifully tanned skin, making him all the more perfect. She stared lovingly at his sleeping form for what felt like forever when she noticed him start to stir in his sleep, this made her panic as she had no idea how to explain what she was doing in his room. But, soon she realized that he wasn't waking up, rather he was having a nightmare.

Kimberly felt compelled to wake him up, but that would only put them in a more awkward situation. As if on impulse, her fingers reached for his arm, slowly caressing it. She honestly had no idea if what she was doing was helping, but she was quite worried and wanted him to get out of whatever nightmare he was in getting him to wake up. So, she continued stroking his arm until she noticed he was no longer stirring and has relaxed to her touch.

Once she was certain he was sound asleep, she reluctantly turned around and started on her way to her bedroom but she didn’t do that without giving him one last look.

If she wouldn't be seeing him the next day, she might as well memorize this image of him.

Roy slept in the next morning, to his surprise. He was woken by the sound of his ringing phone, causing him to groan in annoyance before tiredly reaching for it.

"Hello?" he grunted, not too happy about being woken up by whoever it was.

"Roy, did I wake you up?”

His eyes shot open the moment he heard Christine's voice.

“No, you didn't.” he replied, rubbing his eyes.

"Okay. I'm calling to let you know that I won't be at your place early today. Could you please make sure that Kimberly have breakfast.”

“Sure, I will.” He assured his aunt while still trying to get himself to fully awake.

"Okay, then. Roy?.."

"Hmmn?"

“Thanks sweetie.” His aunt said before the line went dead.

Roy dragged himself out of bed and went into the bathroom to freshen up. He sure isn't going anywhere today because he can't leave Kimberly to be by herself.

While in the shower, he kept wondering how he wasn't woken up the previous night by his usual nightmares. He has dealt with that for years after the death of his sister and surprisingly, last night was the first night he has had a proper sleep in so many years because he felt her presence.

It wasn't like his other dreams where he had imagined what she looked or what their life together would be like. This time, she was in his arms, on his bed while they were making out.

Her skin were as soft as a feather against his fingers, as he delicately caressed her, not wanting to cause even a scratch on his mate. Her lips were so luscious, making him deepen the kiss so he can have a taste of her to his content.

He heard a moan from her, as her small hands left his hair and roamed his chest and abs, making his wolf go crazy with pleasure.

He was burning with desire and wanted more of her, which he got to his heart's content. That night he mated her in his dream.

"Only in your dream’ he repeated in his head. That was the only place he could fulfill his desire, he concluded to his disappointment.

What shocked him the most was her scent, it was all over his bedroom when he woke up this morning, he had ignored it concluding that his imagination was playing tricks on him.

He got out of the steamy shower and quickly got dressed in a black tank top and denim pants. Kimberly's cherry and strawberry scent still lingered in his bedroom to his astonishment.

Why was her scent this strong? Was she here?

He thought he was slowly going insane as he kept thinking of possible reasons why her scent was all over his room.

Roy realized how stupid he was to think she would willingly come here, when that was never going to happen. He shrugged it off and instead hurried downstairs to make breakfast.

He stopped in his tracks as his nose was filled with her scent, mixed with banana pancakes and coffee. Slowly making his way to the kitchen, he spotted Kimberly making breakfast.

She lifted up her head from the pan she was previously concentrating on, as she sensed a presence. They stared at each other for what felt like hours until Kimberly averted her eyes from his and mumbled a “good morning’.

If he wasn't a werewolf with an extraordinary hearing ability, he wouldn't have heard her greeting. He still didn't take his eyes off her as she looked sent by the moon goddess herself, in the denim short and grey tank top she was wearing.

He couldn't help but feel proud and excited as her long black hair matched his own, making them look like a match made in heaven.

'What is wrong with you this morning? She is human and humans only see your kind as animals for the kill."

“She will love and accept us.” His wolf said interrupting his thoughts.

“Need I remind you, she’s in love with someone else.” He told his wolf and that was enough to shut his wolf up.

Roy stole a glance her way and noticed her eyes held sadness, confirming what he said to his wolf, thereby hurting his feelings afresh.

"Good morning.” He quietly replied, making himself comfortable on one of the island chair, not wanting to be rude by skipping breakfast because of the emotional and mental pain he was going through due to her rejection.

Looking her way one more time, he noticed she now has a small smile on her face, making him confused.
