Chapter 112
Married to the Boss: A Love in Disguise Chapter 112
“You are right. It was my fault that I didn’t take good care of her and made her suffer a lot. I won’t do that again.” Adam said,
turning to Lumma. “I’m sorry.”
His eyes were deep and dazzling. Lumma guessed that he might be drunk and that he was saying “sorry” to his wife.
Lumma wanted to persuade Adam not to blame himself like that. Let the bygones be bygones, and his wife would forgive him.
But she was not Adam’s wife. She had never experienced what his wife had experienced, so she didn’t know what had
happened between them and had no right to say anything.
She didn’t say anything. Adam smiled and raised his glass to drink again.
Old Mr. White said, “Adam, you two are so weird. Did you quarrel with each other before you came to see me?”
Hearing that, Lumma was shocked. Fortunately, Adam reacted quickly. “Yes, we had a quarrel. If it weren’t for your sake, she
wouldn’t even talk to me today.”
Old Mr. White said, “I knew you had a quarrel, because you looked so embarrassed when you held hands with each other, but
there were always quarrels between couples. When my wife and I just got married, we often quarreled with each other because
of our conflicting personalities, and I once
made her cry. I felt very sad when I saw her cry. From then on, I swore that I would never make her
sad again. I would make her happy every day, and I also promised her that I would never leave her alone. But unfortunately, she
died before me...”
Tears welled up in old Mr. White’s eyes when he thought of his deceased wife. “You are young now, and you may think that you
still have a long life, but in fact, life is very short. Decades will pass in a
flash. You should cherish every day you have with each other.”
Adam nodded, “I will.”
Lumma also nodded. Suddenly, she thought of her nominal husband, Lucas.
She almost forgot she was married and seldom thought of Lucas. She felt like she had just gotten married yesterday.
However, when she counted the days, she found that she and Lucas had been married for one year and seven months. How
many days could a person’s life have?
Lumma decided to talk to Lucas about the marriage when she went back to Red Pine City. She couldn’t divorce on impulse or
refused to divorce just because she was angry with Lucas.
Thinking of this, Lumma took out her phone and sent a message to Lucas. [Lucas, let’s have a talk when you have time.]
When she sent the message, Adam’s phone rang.
Old Mr. White smiled and said, “You two are sitting together but still sending messages with your phones. Do you wanna have a
private talk?”
“No, I’m not sending messages to him. I’m sending messages to my friend.” Lumma explained hurriedly.
Adam slowly took out his phone. Sure enough, it was a message from Lumma. She asked him to
have a talk. What did she want to talk about?
Adam typed a few words quickly with his fingers. [What do you want to talk about?]
Lumma replied. [Let’s talk about our marriage. Whether we divorce or not, let’s make it clear when we meet. Don’t waste our time
anymore.]
After reading the message, Adam typed a few words and deleted them one by one. It was not the time to tell Lumma his identity
yet.
He put some food into Lumma’s plate and said, “Focus on the meal, not your phone.”
Since the boss had ordered, Lumma had to put away her phone when she didn’t receive any reply from Lucas. But she couldn’t
help wondering if Lucas was avoiding something since he didn’t reply.
It was already four o’clock in the afternoon after the meal. When the driver sent them back to Grandview Garden, it was already
dinner time.
