Chapter Despondency
Madilynne’s P.O.V
Kole charged at me, Instantly shifting in a fluid motion to his large brown wolf. Rolling my shoulders back and adjusting my stance “Fine, Game on Kole.”
His wolf collided with mine, Both of us snarling and clawing at the other. Kole grabbed ahold of my left flank, sinking his teeth into my flesh. Howling out I shifted back “Damnit Kole!”
Kole released and shifted back “Get mad Madi! Feel something! Fight back Damnit!” He growled out.
“I am fighting back you asshole! God’s what the hell do you want from me Kole!” Anger was coursing through my system as I yelled at Kole.
“No, you aren’t, for the last year I’ve watched you suppress everything. You give up too easily, Fight back!” Kole boomed as he threw a punch at me.
Dodging his attack “I’m not suppressing shit, I fight back, and I definitely don’t give up!” I said through gritted teeth as I landed my punch to his jaw.
Kole staggered backward “You’re letting your past hold you back, Own that pain. Get pissed off, Fight back!”
“I am you overgrown Jack Ass!” I shouted with my clenched fists ready.
“Tell me why you’re pissed off!” Kole yelled
“Because you attacked me Kole, God’s what is your problem lately?” Kole snarled at my question
“I command you to tell me Madi!” Koles dominance pressed down on me, Bringing me to my knees.
Wincing as I fought his command, I growled out. “I- I will not bow to you Kole!” Willow roared inside my head. She didn’t see him as Alpha but as an equal. And here he was, pushing us to submit.
“Tell me!” Kole’s voice echoed inside me, the ever-growing rage finally pouring over the top.
Control.
Fight it Madi.
Control it.
Opening my eyes, I lost every logical thought.
“I’m fucking pissed off because I’ve lost everything Kole!” I shouted as I ran at him.
Punch after punch, I was growing even angrier as Kole deflected my attacks. “I’m pissed off because I can’t love him! I never got the chance!”
The anger overwhelming me I collapsed to my knees as the threatening tears dared to break from where I had trapped them for so long. “I’m mad because My mate was stolen from me.. I’m mad because I couldn’t do anything when they burned off the mark, breaking our bond. I’m mad because I never got the chance to tell him I love him.” I whispered out.
I could feel Kole’s dominance release and my own dissipating as he crouched down in front of me.
His hand slipped under my chin, with a finger he lifted my head. The contact sending sparks throughout my entire body, gasping out as I met his eyes.
“H-how is this possible?”
“You’re my fated mate Madi, No one can ever take that from us love.” Kade’s voice soothed. A drastic change from Kole’s.
“But I felt the bond break Kade.” My voice broke as I clutched my chest.
“But you still feel the sparks right? We’ll always have a bond. We might not share a mark anymore, But my heart will always lay with you. My soul will always be tied to yours.” His voice grew soft as he spoke.
Kade pressed his lips to mine, Igniting a fire deep inside as he did. A sense of calmness washing over my senses.
Breaking the kiss, I pressed my head to Kades with my eyes closed. The familiar hum crawled over my skin, I could feel a burst of energy from my chest. The pain that once gripped me from a broken bond, was being replaced with a feeling of our souls intertwining once again. Healing, what was broken.
Opening my eyes both of us panting for air, “Goddess I’ve missed those beautiful golden eyes.” Kade’s breath brushed against my face.
Laughing lightly I asked, “When did you even get here?” Kade leaned away from me, pulling a whimper from my chest “I’m not leaving love, I got here right before you and Kole had it out with each other. Almost killed him for harming my mate, but you needed to let all that pent-up anger out. But You almost saw me actually.”
“I felt you watching me weirdo.” I laughed out with a smile on my face.
“Alright, let’s get you home love. You look tired.” Kade said as he stood and reached down scooping me up.
Curling into Kade with my face in his neck, I took in a deep breath. His Apple pie scent swirling around my senses. “Ah, I’ve missed that.” Looking up I could see the smile stretch across his face.
“Shit, I can’t go! I’m supposed to be patrolling tonight!” I shouted jumping from Kade’s arms. As soon as I said that A howl a short distance from where we were sounded off, Shit Wes.
Looking at Kade who had already shifted, I smiled before seamlessly shifting myself. Kade howled and then nudged his head against me. Both of us ran towards Wes, Kade easily keeping pace next to me.
The vision.
Reality came crashing down on me as I listened to the growing footfalls of paws rushing behind us.
Catching the scent as I had in my vision I took off to the familiar destination.
Coming to a stop I waited for the Auburn-colored wolf. Kade continued to press me behind him, I could sense his unease.
‘It’s okay. I know what’s coming. She won’t harm us.’ I whispered gently into Kade’s mind.
‘What? Who is?’ Kade questioned.
‘Shh, I don’t know who I just know she isn’t a threat. Any moment now.’
I could hear a shuffle, and then she emerged from the brush like in my vision.
The same moment, Kole was barreling past us. Kade was snarling at the Auburn wolf, making her hackles rise in defense. Instantly I jumped to The Auburn wolf’s side and defended the unknown she-wolf from Kade and Kole.
I watched as Kole’s eyes locked with hers.
Kole shifted back “Shift Mate.”
