Chapter 25 bachelor/bachelorette party
Lucy
I never thought how I’d plan my bachelorette party, but I knew I didn’t just want one person planning it. So, I thought it’d be fun for my entire bridal party to plan it. I’m not much of a party person, but now that it was warming up more it has been so much fun being outside, wearing cutesy spring-like dresses, leaving the door open at the shop, and checking out local flowers to see if anything caught my eye for my bouquet. With the weather warming up finally, I hope it’s going to be outside. As it got closer and closer to the party, I got more and more nervous. All my girlfriends are great, but the only one I know who isn’t as much of a party person is Lyna… which makes me worry a little. Just as my workday is dying down, I stare at my hopeful wedding dress. I know I should make it a big deal and invite family and friends to see me try it on, but maybe I could just sneak a peek at it… I sneak it from the wrack and go into the dressing room. Just to have a moment to myself with it… it fit like a glove and I just knew this was going to be mine! Soon I hear the door chime I quickly change out of it without ruining it and see my friends looking for me.
“Lucy, we’re home!” I hear Lyna chuckle to herself haha hilarious… like I haven’t heard that one before…
“Just a minute, just putting a dress away!” Not entirely wrong… I put it on a moveable rack near the dressing rooms and went out to join the others. “What’s up girls?” Reika gives me a Cheshire cat smile and that could only mean one thing…
“It’s party time! Go pick a nice spring dress and then the fun will begin.” Oh, no… I’m in trouble. Well, I’m guessing it’s going to be outside so semi-casual. I look around my spring collection and a pretty lacey, knee-length, cap-sleeve lavender dress with a matching ribbon to go around the waist. I take it off the rack and go into the dressing room to change. I put the money in the register quickly before they notice me.
“Ready!” The others turn around and giggle. I turn around to model the dress for them and they all seem to be happy with my choice.
“You look so pretty!” Reika looked like she was scheming something, that can either be a good thing or not…
“Thanks, now what’s going on?”
“Put on this blindfold and you’ll see.” Now I’m terrified, but kind of excited. Lyna puts the white blindfold on me and leads me to her car… guess I’m walking to work tomorrow. We travel maybe twenty, maybe thirty minutes so not my parent’s house. Soon the car stops and I smell flowers, trees, wood burning (hopefully someone is tending to that), but besides that nothing out of the ordinary, I hear people so maybe it’s a barbeque. I wouldn’t complain about that.
“Surprise!” Someone takes off my blindfold and I’m surprised by a bouquet from Lyall and all my family and friends at Wild Forest.
“What is everyone doing here?!” I didn’t realize that my family knew where it was. Dad kisses me on my cheek.
“Conall and Lyna invited us, and they made the invite permanent. We could start a new life here in Wild Forest.” He smiles at me and I just jump into a hug.
“Really!? And what do you think? Can an alpha submit to another?” I always wondered how that’d work.
“Well, technically I’m retired…” He just chuckles and I look at him dumbfounded.
“What?” When did that happen!? I look at him wide-eyed.
“Yeah, I have been for a while… it should be Lupe’s turn to lead, but can’t be an alpha without a pack…” That’s what Lupe said too… well like father like son, I guess.
“What about me being beta female? Would you be able to submit to me if needed?” I have no idea technically how that works, former alpha to current beta female, but I guess that’d just make him a normal pack member.
“If the situation needs it then yes, I’d submit.” We’ll see when the time comes if it does, but I know my dad would support me. “Enough of formalities, this is supposed to be a fun day, Lulu…”
“You haven’t called me that in a long time…” It was a cute nickname he used to have for me as a kid. Stopped using it when I became a teen. “Maybe we can keep that just between us…”
“Yeah, I’d like that.” I blush at the memories of him calling me that. Soon Lyall joins us and kisses my cheek.
“Did I surprise you?” He wraps his arms around my waist.
“You came up with this!?” I’m shocked and impressed.
“Well, with some help from scheming friends we thought this would be more fun than a typical bachelor/bachelorette party.”
“But the wine and fru fru drinks are going to be there, right?” I like me a good girly drink. Daiquiris, Seagrams, Moscato, Pink Moscato. Nothing with a lot of alcohol taste.
“Of course, your friends requested that.” The night was so much fun. Food was delicious, the drinks so fruity I couldn’t tell there was alcohol in it, which made walking fun, good friends, and supportive family. This finally felt right. No more looking over my shoulder, no more having to make sure that my security isn’t on high alert, no more having to hide, no more secrets… no more Vincent… we all stay at Wild Forest, mostly because I was too drunk to drive. Damn fru fru drinks... you never realize how much you have until you walk. Lyall took me to what will be our home and had some aspirin and a bucket ready for me in the morning.
