LUNA: The Invisible Princess

Chapter 38: Reunion Part 4

Mirai took us to the palace while jumping excitedly. She’s still a child after all these years without seeing each other. She’s more playful than before. The moment we arrived at the palace, she quickly introduced us to his uncle, the current King of Majika.

"Sister, you forgot something..." Mirai said while pouting.

Forgot?

My forehead creased in confusion.

"Huh?"

Mirai pouted even more and refused to speak. What did I forget? Think... think...

My eyes widened as I remembered what day it was today.

"Waah! Sorry, Mirai!" Mirai crossed her arms over her chest and then held out her hand.

"Where's my gift?" She sounded eager and excited. It made me laugh.

I waved my hand and within seconds, an advanced spell book appeared.

"Happy birthday, Mirai!" I said and gave her my gift. Her eyes widened and glimmered.

"Wow! Advance Spell Book? Waah, thank you, sister! You're the best!" she said while jumping and hugging the book like it’s the most precious treasure in the world. Pft.

She was thrilled with my gift and immediately read the book with excitement. I shook my head in amusement.

I walked towards the squad who were talking to Caitlyn, the princess of Majika. I smiled and sat beside my twin.

Cathy quickly sat beside me, and Leena glared at her. Then Cathy pouted her lips which made me chuckle. Leena snake her arms around my waist possessively and I chuckled at her childishness. I don't know why she doesn't want Cathy hugging me.

"Can I just have Regit?" Leena whispered.

"Ask Mirai if she'll agree. By the way, it's Mirai and her twin's birthday today." I said and everyone turned to me.

"Mirai's birthday today?"

I nodded. “Yeah, I already gave her my gift.”

They suddenly pouted and groaned because they didn't greet Mirai and they didn’t bring a gift.

“There’s a luxurious gift shop in the town. You still have time to prepare. There's a birthday party going on tonight. You should wear casual clothes.” the princess told us and everyone was extremely excited. My eyes twinkle thinking about all the delicious food later.

~~~
All the people in the palace were busy except for our group. We just came back from town after picking up some gifts for the twins.
Mirai was glued to the book all day. I shouldn’t have given her the gift too early. I shook my head in amusement. She’s really compassionate when it comes to learning new things.
While strolling around the palace, I saw Bryle on the veranda while looking down at where the town of Sampa was. I stepped beside him and he smiled when he saw me. He stared at me longer this time and I winked at him. His face suddenly flushed red and looked away. I secretly smiled at his reaction.
"Hey! Are you intimidated by me?" I said coquettishly and his eyes widened and then he quickly shook his head.
"No!" He blurted out in a defensive tone. He scratched the back of his neck in embarrassment which made me laugh.
"What do you think of this place?" I uttered, and he smiled.
"This place is beautiful and looks lively. The color of each house looks so magical and ancient. Even this palace looks so majestic and I feel like I was back in ancient times."
"Hmm, that's also what I thought when I first came here. Did you know a witch put a curse on this town before?"
"Really? What's the curse?" he asked in curiosity.
"Well, all mages turn into wolves at night. But upon my intervention, the curse has lifted." He smiled at what I said and looked proud.
"This is the first place I stumbled upon without being invisible..." I continued with a smile while remembering what happened before.
Bryle looks at me thoroughly. "No wonder why the people in town are so respectful and fond of you. You are their benefactor."
I smiled. "Yeah, because I helped them in the war."
"A war? A war happened here? This place looks so peaceful though." He said unbelievably.
"Yeah, it's peaceful now. Because the mages and black wizards have come to an agreement to stop fighting." I suddenly remember Asgar and the family.
"Black wizards?"
"Yes, they are the wizards who use black magic, and half of their population are witches." I nodded and when I looked at him, his face turned ashen.
"There's... there's a witch here?" I laughed at his reaction. A glint flashed in my eyes.
"Yes, and as far as I could remember, they put female magic users into a cauldron to get their powers and to make a rare potion; and they’re attracted to male magic users and makes them their partner or slaves for life," I said with a serious expression on the surface but deep inside, I wanted to laugh because of his priceless reaction. For some reason, he was fearful of witches.
He held on to me, his face turned ghastly pale. He swallowed and said, "L-Luna, don't let them take me. Huhuhu, you're the only one I want to marry—"
My eyes widened at what he said. And my heart rate quickened and my head buzzed.
Bryle and I looked at each other, and my heart was beating faster like a drum that echoed in my ears. And I know my face is now reddened like a tomato.
"Aish..." he let go of my arms quickly like my skin burned him or something and shyly bowed his head. He scratched the back of his neck while whispering something. Pft. Haha.
His face and ears are beet red.
A pin-drop silence envelopes us.
I look up at the starry sky while grinning.
The group called us so we went inside to prepare for the party.
I haven't asked Mirai why she is here in her uncle's palace while her whole family is in the kingdom of the Black Wizards. What could have happened?
Leena and I went to Mirai's room together. We found her sitting on her bed with a distressed expression while looking at the beautiful pink gown—adorned with glistening rhinestones.
"Oh, what's with the long face?" I uttered with an amused smile.
"I'm not used to wearing dresses. If it wasn't for my birthday, I really wouldn't want to wear it." She whined and groaned in distress.
Leena and I laughed at her reaction. "Yeah, you're right even I wouldn't wear that." Mirai's face lit up at what I said.
"Really, sister?!" her eyes glimmered and got up from the bed. Leena stared at me and then smirked.
"Yeah, because I think the gown doesn’t suit you."
Mirai beamed. “I knew it!” she laughed.
"Yeah, I just noticed now," Leena said and nodded. We wink at each other knowingly.
Leena waved her hand at Mirai and in an instant, the gown automatically wore on Mirai’s body.
"Waah!" Mirai screamed in shock and her eyes widened. She couldn't believe what happened, and she turned to us while glaring daggers at us as Leena and I kept on laughing at her priceless reaction. “You bully!” she pouted and was about to cry.
We ignored her rant, and now it was my turn. I waved my hand and magic Mirai’s gown and then she glowed brightly. As I imagine it would, the gown's design changes gradually. The color turned aqua blue, and the glitters glistened at the light. The rhinestones and pearls were perfectly adorned which added to the gown’s elegance that accentuated her exquisite figure. Mirai's beauty floated more in the dress. Now, she looks more like a princess, and the plain Mirai is gone.
Leena changed Mirai’s hairstyle which perfectly complements her dress. And we put some accessories on her hair and a tiara. Leena and I smiled in satisfaction as we finished grooming Mirai.
Mirai glances at the mirror and gasps in awe. She blinked her eyes multiple times in utter disbelief.
"Is this me? Wow. I'm so beautiful!" she said while turning around incredulously looking at her reflection—admiring herself in the mirror, satisfied with the result. She no longer resists wearing a gown.
Leena and I do high five while grinning.
"Wow!" We both looked at the door and saw Mirai's twin, Aira.
"Ai! Look at me!" Mirai beamed and held her gown while swaying. She looked happy.
"You look pretty, Mi!" Aira uttered, her eyes sparkling in awe.
"Right?! It’s all thanks to them!"
Leena and I looked at each other and grinned. Like what we did with Mirai, we also magic Aira’s gown. The whole time, Aira’s jaw dropped and Mirai was smiling at the reaction of her twin.
Now they're both stunning in their gowns. Even though they’re twins, they have different temperaments. Aira is a bit shy and kind, while Mirai is fierce and brave.
It’s funny because we’re all twins in the same room. In front of the twins, Leena and I changed our dresses too. As we planned, Leena and I wore the same outfit—a simple knee-length red cocktail dress—and the same appearance. Our long, wavy silver hair is just hanging loosely. We plan to confuse our friends tonight.
The twins stared at us blankly with jaws dropped in awe. Then their foreheads creased in confusion.
"Woah, who is who?" Aira exclaimed, her gaze moving back and forth in confusion trying to guess us.
We chuckled seeing their reaction. Mirai looked into our eyes and sighed frustratedly because she couldn't guess. We made sure that we have the same eye color too.
The twins failed to guess who is who, and they stomped their feet while pouting and groaning as they dismissed us after thanking us for making them gorgeous tonight. Leena and I just laughed as we left their room, satisfied with the result.
We smirk and wink at each other. I can't wait to prank our friends.
Tonight will be so much fun!
