Chapter 65
Carmen snorted. “It’s not that simple. Just wait and see. She can turn the Ziegler family upside down!”
The mother and daughter looked at each other and smiled meaningfully.
It was good that someone was there to disrupt the situation.
If Faith could create chaos for the Ziegler family, they would be able to fish in troubled waters.
If Mrs. Ziegler was angered to death, Carmen could take over the Ziegler family’s power. Her efforts to endure for so many years would not be wasted.
On the way to Jipsdale’s Benevolence Hospital, Caroline asked Quintin a question in private.
“Why did your Aunt Faith come back suddenly?”
It was said that more than 20 years ago, the Ziegler family had chased Faith out of the house. Everyone in Jipsdale knew about her. Then, why would someone who had lost contact for more than 20 years suddenly appear?
“How would I know?”
Quintin was furious at the thought of Faith’s behavior. He thought, “How could someone with her personality be a part of the Ziegler family?”
His grandfather was pure–hearted, and his grandmother was well–educated, but Faith was simply an ignorant and incompetent female tyrant.
“I heard that she liked to mess around when she was young. She was an unruly delinquent. How did she become that way?” Caroline asked again.
Caroline had investigated the Ziegler family before and knew that Faith had been disobedient since she was young. She had been friends with gangsters and had done many bad things. She had even been sent to juvenile detention.
Therefore, the existence of Faith was definitely a stain on the Ziegler family’s reputation.
“I heard that she has had a bad temper since she was young. My grandparents couldn’t control lier at all. Perhaps that was why she has been spoiled since she was young.”
Caroline nodded and said, “How many shares does Aunt Faith have?”
Quintin let out a cold breath. “How many shares does she have? My grandfather had given her 10% in the past, but she disappointed him with what she had done.
“Then, in a fit of anger, my grandfather made a new will and took back the 10% he gave her. In the end, he left her with nothing!”
“What did she do to make your grandfather so angry?” Caroline asked.
“Why do you want to know everything?”
Quintin didn’t really want to talk about those stupid things. It was annoying to talk about them, but Caroline wanted to know everything about it.
“I helped you just now. You won’t die if you tell me, right?”
Speaking of helping him earlier, Quintin did want to thank her sincerely. So, he told her about what Faith had done back
then.
Caroline couldn’t help but laugh after hearing that.
“What are you laughing at? What’s so funny? You’d better not tell anyone.”
Quintin warned with a dark expression. What he had just told her was a very serious topic!
Back then, the Ziegler family had also lost its reputation because of that incident. Later, they had to use their connections and spent a lot of money to suppress the news.
“I see. Then can you tell me who the man she raped was?”
Quintin didn’t actually want to say it, but he couldn’t resist Caroline’s questioning and finally revealed, “Professor Stone.”
Caroline was a little surprised when she heard that. “You mean Professor Christopher Stone from Jipsdale University? I would have never expected your Aunt Faith to be capable of doing such things!”
After understanding the inside story, Caroline didn’t ask any more questions. Instead, she was thinking about something related to Christopher.
She knew Christopher. It seemed that her mother had known Christopher before, but after her mother married into the Lewis family, the two of them stopped interacting.
Chapter 65
She wondered if Christopher knew anything about her mother’s past.
Unknowingly, the RV arrived at the hospital Caroline pushed Quintin to the emergency room.
They went to the emergency room. Catherine had not come out yet. Jennifer and Michael were waiting anxiously. About ten minutes later, a doctor wearing a mask walked out. Jennifer and the others immediately went up to him and asked, “Doctor, how is she?”
“The patient fainted from anger. She’s fine now, but we found that there might be something wrong with her suggest giving her a physical examination later.”
“Okay. Thank you, doctor.”
organs. We
After sending the doctor away, Jennifer cursed, “It’s all Faith’s fault. If it weren’t for her, my grandmother wouldn’t have fainted from anger.”
No one replied. They were all thinking about how lucky they were. If Catherine had really died from anger, the Ziegler family would be in a mess.
After a while, the nurse pushed Catherine out of the emergency room and sent her for a checkup.
Everyone followed suit. Jennifer said to Quintin, “Quintin, if you’re in a hurry, you should return first. I’ll take care of things here with Michael here.”
“There’s no hurry. We’ll talk about it after Grandma’s checkup.”
Quintin was a filial man. His grandmother’s condition was still unclear, so he definitely had to stay by her side to take care of
her.
After Catherine was examined, the nurse pushed her back to the ward. The report would only be ready after half an hour.
Taking advantage of this time, Caroline suggested, “It’s rare for you to have time to come to the hospital. Why don’t you this opportunity to do a checkup and see how you’re recovering?”
take
Quintin pondered for a few seconds before finally agreeing. More than anyone else, he hoped for himself to get better soon.
After Caroline informed Jennifer about their plans, she pushed Quintin to do his checkup.
She walked through the corridor and took the elevator upstairs. When she got off the elevator, she bumped into someone she knew.
Yvonne came out of Bridget’s ward. She was there to visit Bridget and had not expected to meet Caroline and Quintin in the elevator. Furthermore, Quintin was in a wheelchair.
“Caroline?”
Yvonne’s gaze landed on the man. She was very surprised to see Quintin sitting in a wheelchair and wearing sunglasses as if nothing had happened. She thought, “Didn’t the rumors say he was in a vegetation state?
“How was he roaming around in a wheelchair?”
Caroline saw her and ignored her. She pushed Quintin to leave, but Yvonne blocked her way.
“Caroline, don’t leave just like that! I have something to say to you!”
“Speak.”
Caroline stopped and asked coldly.
“Is this Mr. Ziegler? Has he recovered?” Yvonne asked.
“That’s right,” said Caroline..
“No way, he really recovered?”
She could not understand why Caroline was so fortunate. She even managed to cure him from being a living dead after marrying him and washing away his bad luck.
If Yvonne had known that Quintin wouldn’t die, she would have agreed to marry him herself. Then, she would now be a part of the Ziegler family.
Yvonne stared at Quintin’s handsome and extraordinary facial features. With his sunglasses on, he was even more spectacular and had an outstanding aura.
Even if he was sitting in a wheelchair, his entire body exuded a powerful aura.
He was a big shot at the top of the societal’s pyramid!
Yvonne was unwilling to give him up to Caroline just like that!
“Mr. Ziegler! I’m Yvonne Lewis. You know me, right? I was the one who was supposed to marry you and bless you with good
luck…
Chapter 65
Caroline could see the regret in Yvonne’s eyes. She snorted coldly in her heart, “Yvonne had given up on it herself. It was too late to curry favor now, right?”
Yvonne tried to make her presence known to Quintin, doing her best to attract his attention. Unfortunately, she wasn’t aware that Quintin could not see anything.
Even if she took off her clothes, it would be useless.
“What’s that noise? Are there flies?”
Quintin finally spoke. He frowned and asked unhappily.
“Yeah, there’s flies.”
Caroline replied and even made a motion to chase away the flies.
“Then why aren’t you pushing me away?”
Quintin did not want to waste his breath on irrelevant people.
Caroline wanted to leave, but Yvonne stopped her again with a dark expression. “Don’t go! I haven’t finished talking!”
“What the hell are you doing?”
A trace of displeasure appeared on Caroline’s brows.
